  1. Aw, thanks. Just saw this. I'm doing well. Better now. I lost my job in March (the gas station closed), so I've decided to take the opportunity to go back to school. So I'm taking online courses for medical transcription. I finally was able to move out of the trailer I was in (don't know how that place was still standing, someone up there loves me, it was a total death trap. ) I just moved into a nice little apartment, so excited to be in a place with no leaks, no holes in walls or floors, and you can plug things in the outlets hold the plugs in. It's the little things. I'm not enjoying trying to make ends meet on unemployment, but if I still had the same job, I never would have been able to move 30 miles away into a better place (driving a 79 GMC truck is not entertaining on the bank balance, lol) nor would I be able to be doing school. So it has strangely worked out for the better! I also bought a new computer with my income tax, so now I am able to get online without the hassle of the old computer. Hopefully I will be able to pop into here more often, I have missed so much and miss everyone.
  2. Aw, that's very cute, and surprisingly helpful. Even for me, perfect timing to find this as my MT grammar essentials class is confounding me. Ugh. Taking apart sentences was never my forte!
  3. Oh shoot, I was reading the Dresden Files...I think I'm on the 4th book? I have all of them except the last, I think. Along with Starving Dog Syndrome, I also have Distracted Racoon, lol. Thanks for reminding me, now I'll have to add that back to the pile.
  4. I also like to read more than one book at a time. I have a friend who calls it the Starving Dog Syndrome, she and I both have it, lol. I'm currently reading Jane Eyre, Lord of the Rings, & The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands on my Kindle. I'm also reading Homeschooling and Loving It, 12 Steps to Raw Food, The Amber Chronicles. And now I have a ton of school papers to read (for my own schooling that started yesterday). That's all I'm admiting to reading at this moment....
  5. I took my 9 yo son out of school a couple weeks ago. My best friend homeschools her 4 children and she took us all to the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle last week. My son was thrilled, he had a great time, and even took the time to read the little signs about the animals (this is a boy who says he doesn't like reading). I gave him my camera and told him he was our official photographer and he did a great job, I'm pretty sure he took a picture of every animal he could, even some of the signs, lol. It was the best day ever.
  6. I love my Kindle. I have a tendancy to ready multiple books at once, and this helps keeps my bag light when I go somewhere. Most of the books on it (over 200 so far) are the freebies. I finally get to catch up on my classics! Yay! I let my mom use it sometimes, and she can make the text larger if she forgets to bring her "eyes" with her. I'm glad they have the Kindle software available to read on your computer and other places too! And yes, I still have all my paper books, somehow the Kindle is making my library have lots of doubles...if I read a good one on my Kindle, I think I must have it in "real" form too.
  7. Just passed my technician test last Monday. I used the AARL Ham Radio License Manual. Test has 35 questions and cost me $15. Now the real learning begins....
  8. I had to read all four of the books because my 12 yo dd is "so in love with Edward", that I felt I better keep tabs on what she's reading. So I ordered the first 2 on my Kindle, and since she was only on the first one, she had to come over from her dad's to finish. Needless to say, I lost possession of my Kindle for a few days, and when she finished what I had on there, I let her order the third and fourth books as well. I made her quite jealous when I told her that I've been to Forks and La Push recently, and the scene in the movie with the beach? That was what I saw when I looked out my bedroom window from the resort in the morning! (such a tough job I had that weekend, lol)
  9. Happy Birthday you guys! Hope it was a great one!!!
  10. I'm on facebook and myspace, and have found a ton of old school friends, it's crazy to see where some of the people have gone!
  11. Aw, I get back, find a new and beautiful board, but no PM about my secret pal.
  12. Happy Birthday! Hope it was great! ((((Snowy)))))
