  1. Good morning and welcome!!!! I have been married 4 1/2 years. I guess we are the "newlywed" ladies on the board. We do not have children. But, we do have 3 dogs....what a handful! Ha! Ha! I am an old lady compared to you....let's just say I am "30 something" (and I think it is more something than 30). Have a great day!
  2. Welcome!!!! I am a christian too! I have been married to my dh for 4 1/2 years. We do not have any children. I enjoy this site tremendously....I just came back to it after quite some time. I am active in leading a Women's Bible STudy at church and enjoy visiting with people online as well! May you find this place a "home" for yourself! God Bless you!
  3. I canned salsa last year from a recipe in the ball recipe book. The salsa had more of a sweet flavor. I didn't care for it too much. Does anyone have a good recipe for canning salsa that would make the salsa more like the store bought? We prefer Medium!
  4. Wow...Snowmom...those quilts sound wonderful! I am "thinking" about starting a quilt this fall. I have never made a quilt, and will probably start very simple with squares. My mom passed away in March and she had a quilting rack she never used and tons of materal and scraps from clothes she made us when we were little. So, I thought maybe I would make a memory quilt. I hope I can do it! Any suggestions to make it easier?
  5. Hi Lois: I will be praying for your mom too! My mother-in-law had a pacemaker/defibrilator put in two years ago. It saved her life many times. We were so grateful for it. This past March she had a heart transplant. It is amazing the recovery process and the strength she has. Modern day medicine is an amazing thing!!!! Debbie
  6. Good morning everyone!!! I made some fresh fruit smoothies for everyone! Let's sit back, sip the smoothies and visit! Hope you all have a wonderful day!
  7. Oh Garden Keeper, I know how it is having a stressful job.....well, at least I used to! When I was able to quit the job, it was amazing...I felt like a new person!!! I used to cry everyday when I left work. I hope you are able to find a job that you can enjoy and doesn't take too much out of you! Have a great day!
  8. I like Stevia! My hubby had to go off all chemical type things including sweeteners, etc. So, I guess when you have no other options you learn to like it. I haven't tried baking with it though. I guess there is a good reason!
  9. If it is a meal you could always boil chicken ahead and plop it on a BBQ or in a pot with BBQ sauce!!! I dunno, just a suggestion!!!!! Everyone here has so many ideas.....I struggle to get my brain to work as great as yours. Hee! Hee!
  10. Blessings? Oh yeah, I have many!!! 1. That God loves me and the strength He has provided this year with the death of 3 family members (including my mom). 2. My husband loves me and is my best friend. 3. My family (both husbands side and my own). Especially that my dad is one of my closest friends. And that my mom-in-law received a heart transplant and is doing well! 4. Friends 5. Health 6. My church 7. This website Oh....I could go on and on. God has been good to me!!!
  11. How many miles for sitting at the computer or watching tv? Hee! Hee!! I have been sick for over two weeks and haven't been able to exercise like I was, nor clean house, etc. Hopefully I can get back on track soon!!!!
  12. Deeknight: WAY TO GO GIRL!!!!! That is terrific!!! You have most definately inspired me!!! My dh and I are on the path to eating protein and veggies as you, for health reasons (for him) and weight loss (for me). I know I sure feel better when I eat this way. We have definately cut down drastically on starches and totally cut out the sugar. I have done so much reading on how much these harm our bodies and cause illnesses. So, we are on a new path for living! I am glad we are not on the path alone! Thanks for the encouragement!!!
  13. Darlene: I haven't been to this site since the end of last year. I read your e-mail and it showed what a sweet heart you had. Of course I don't have any hard feelings...I haven't been here...but I understand how things in life can be overwhelming. I think that your post here (and the e-mail) show what kind of character and heart you truly have. That immediately drew me back to this site. I understand the things life throws at you since this year we have waited with my mother-in-law for a heart transplant which she finally received and then 4 days later my mom unexpectedly passed away at home by her self of a heart attack. 16 days after that my dear hubby was in a serious car accident where our truck was totalled and yet he escaped with a concussion, scrapes and cuts. I had an Aunt pass away and now I have an uncle in the hospital who is not supposed to make it. I think we all have times in our lives where things are overwhelming and we cannot keep up with things as well as we would desire.....but that's okay!!!! I am sorry I blabbed on...I just wanted to tell you that your e-mail encouraged me to come back and check out this site again. And you know what? I forgot how much I like this site!!!! Have a great day!!!!
