I've never had the luxury of worrying about "matching" or looks. My washer and dryer are over 30 years old, still working, and I don't worry about looks because they're in the basement, anyway. And we just don't "entertain". Just about all of our furniture is hand-me-down, ugly, and I just can't worry about it. About the time DH's recliner is breaking down, his folks end up getting a new one and give him their old one. But I've heard over and over about people who buy new appliances and they have problems during the first year. Sometimes multiple times. They say "buy the warranty!" DH has kept our old washer & dryer going, but they have reached the point that he probably won't be able to find any parts any more if they break down.

**Doing the HAPPY DANCE** Welcome back, Sweetie!

This weekend we take our youngest child to a university 2 hours away. This child was my answered prayer, my joy after the sorrow of two miscarriages, my delightfully funny burst of sunshine in difficult times. As happy as I am that she has this opportunity, my heart grieves for the loss of her everyday company. These last few years have been a blessing. With one daughter married with children, our son living nearby but in his own home, we have grown closer. She seems to appreciate more than she criticizes. It's more difficult because she's my youngest, and she'll be further away than the other two. They were minutes away, not hours. And yes, I know it could be worse; she's not halfway across the country. I seem to get all "weepy" at random times. It's with me constantly. Friday we are trying to wrap up the preps and be ready to take her on Saturday, so I won't be here much these next few days.
