johnnyhoz
Well, I am new here and obviously not part of the manuel thingy but I was wondering if volcanic ash shouldn't be on the natural disaster list. The consequences from a large scale volcanic eruption could be pretty severe in many places, ie downed power lines, contaminated water, collapsing roofs, bad air quality etc. Link to comment
Guest Guest
Ohh, I didn't even think of the protection aspect! I'll add that idea into my outline right now...done! I've even specified the wild dogs. How long (or short) is each topic section supposed to be? ~Jo Link to comment
HapyGirl
I will take Earthquakes and Tornadoes. I have prepped for both and lived in areas prone to them. If I have more time I will add another area but I'm pretty swamped right now! Link to comment
shadypines
Buttercup is writing the information on tornados. Earthquakes would be great. Bless you and everbody who is helping to make this manual possible. Link to comment

Freetobeme
Couldn't hail be addressed with tornadoes? It seems that they often come together. If you would like info on drought, we've been living through one for several years here and it's been a big topic at work (I work for the Dept of Water Resources), I can address the issue. I think fires would be pretty well addressed with wildfires. Link to comment

gardnmom
Lahar is generally accociated with volcanos. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lahar A lahar is a mixture of rock, mud, water and usually debris that flows down from a volcano (or occasionally other mountains), typically along a river valley. The term originated in Indonesia and means "lava" in Javanese. Link to comment

I mean if a volcano erupts I don't think you are going to shelter in place. Link to comment

If MSH or Rainier blew, alot of folks will be affected. If Yellowstone blows, it will be a nationwide concern. Link to comment
