Am I overdrying my banana slices? I usually let them dry until the thinner slices snap, rather then bend. Is it wrong to overdry bananas? The 1/4" sliced ones are usually dried until rubbery, tho.

 

Banana ketchup? Do you use it like...what, regular ketchup?

 

I'd love to try this!

If you like them crisp, then go ahead and dry them longer. They can be anywhere from pliable to crisp.

There is also a recipe for banana jam that is good with peanut butter ! I have made it before. Good on icecream, too.

I use my banana catsup any way that I might use regular catsup including in meatloaf and on chicken as a BBQ sauce. It's great mixed half and half with grape jelly and used on meat balls for appetizers.

 

I make banana butter also using them in place of apples. It taste a bit like banana bread when used on toast. I use honey and apple cider vinegar or lemon juice to give it a bit of tang. I can it and the catsup the same way I can regular catsup and apple butter.

Can I use freezer paper instead of a tray?

Kayla, I don't see why you can't use freezer paper or parchment paper for drying apples on.

I'm actually doing celery right now, LOL. We've covered how many fruits & veggies in this thread? LOL

 

I ended up doing matchsticks instead of the slices since I wasn't sure if I could use the freezer paper.

I really like to dry them after dipping in pineapple juice
