Freeze Kraft Cheese Singles

Has anyone tried to freeze American cheese singles, individually wrapped? Not the best cheese, I know, but on a very good sale here, 99 cents for 12 slices. I can't pass tht up.

I haven't frozen the individually wrapped cheese slices, but I have frozen sliced cheese. I buy the big things of cheese at Costco and just separate into freezer bags and pop in the freezer. I don't think that it would be any different freezing individually wrapped slices.

I've frozen them as part of a sandwich, but never alone individually and still wrapped. I think you will find they will change a little in texture when frozen and then thawed that way not be visually as appealing but should not effect the flavor.

I buy them at Sam's all the time and freeze them. We have never noticed any difference .

I do both. The cheddar is the shredded kind. I repackage both kinds into smaller bags.

The Velveeta website says not to freeze that. I hear the slices are fine, though. I do lots of shredded cheddar, mozarella, jack cheese in ziploc bags.

I've frozen the pre-sliced stacks of American. I just let it thaw completely before using it and I can't tell a difference. I so rarely eat American Cheese that it's a treat.
