Mornin' Yall! :bouquet:

Saturdays are so wonderful to me! :happy0203: I really cherish my days off from work. I am totally brain dead when I get home from work in the evenings so Saturdays are when I actually "do" things here at home. Like visit mrssurvival ...... :wink (2):

Anyhoo, in anticipation of the upcoming busy week I will have both at work and at home, I have a few things to get accomplished this weekend......

1. finalize the Thanksgiving menu

2. grocery shopping

3. clean and rearrange the refrigerator

4. scrub my big turkey roaster

5. clean and rearrange my living room to accomodate the Christmas tree next weekend

I have other things on my list but these are the hot spots.

Has everyone else already done these things? :whistling:

Have a fantabulous day everyone!!!!!

Well, let's just say you're WAAAY ahead of me! :whistling: I'm falling apart.

Lessee...

Last week I was just cleaning the lenses of my glasses and the frame snapped. So I had to try to fix them, and just SuperGlue didn't work, so I have them duct-taped. Ultimately fashionable, don't 'cha know!? <_< My Mom was happy about it, because she needs new ones, too. :shakinghead:

So Monday I took Mom and we both went to get glasses. No problem... we got right in, had a great exam, ordered the glasses, come back at 4:30 and they'll be done. OOPS... sorry, we don't have the correct lens for *me*, so they'll give me a temporary and come back tomorrow to exchange them. UMMM, NO.

I was going to settle for what they had originally, but if they were going to go through ordering and reworking them *anyway*, then I just ordered what the doctor recommended, with a wider, fuller area for my "computering". They had to order that type of lens in. So I've suffered through the entire week of these glasses, had to re-tape them and tape the other edge, too, and I'm ready for new ones! We go soon today, when they open.

Then my tooth started hurting, and this time it wouldn't stop. I've had problems before, but we limped it along because there was no money. So I got to the dentist, and had an exam & xrays. Now I have to have a root canal, and because it's so bad, he's sending me to a specialist on Monday instead of waiting for him to do it in another week. :( And still fill a cavity when that's done. :(

And now I have a nasty cold. I am already on antibiotics for the tooth, so I don't know if that will help with the cold symptoms, but I'm miserable. I had a hard time sleeping last night, with the tooth pain and cold symptoms.

Thanksgiving???? :0327:

(Actually, since I'm babysitting the little one, we're going out to eat to a buffet this year. One of my brothers and his wife always like that, so we decided we'd do it with them this year, too. And just guess *who* "already has plans"???? <_< )

We'll plan on having our own dinner Sunday, when I'll cook our favorites.

Oh, Cat, you have too much going on for anything but misery. Little late now, but if your glasses are wire frame, sometimes the jewelry store can solder (sp) them and they hold a while.

Also, note to all of us. I completely understand putting off the dentist, they are so expensive these days. DD is a long time registered dental assistant. She has seen bad situations with an abcess left untreated. Just last week a young woman (who cleans the dentist's home) came in with her jaw swollen so that her eye was almost shut and she was in terrible pain. Dentist gave her a good talking to about coming sooner, and she said I couldn't afford to come. He fussed more and said we would have worked something out. Had to send her to the hospital for IV antibiotics. Surgery probably required now. Going to be much more costly. Still, I know how she must have felt going in and saying I hurt but I can't pay.

Cat--I am praying for your complete healing. Just thinking, in a couple of weeks you will be a new woman--teeth, eyes, etc. At least your getting it all fixed before the SHTF when there is still means to do it. May God provide the finances for you. (When I had to have a hysterectomy, the doctor told my husband he would have a new woman after the surgery. When I went back two months after, the smarty pants told the doctor he still hadn't found that 'new woman' he promised him, but he would still keep looking.) :tapfoot:

Yikes! Cat! I am sorry you are sick and in pain! Like adding insult to injury. I pray that all your issues are resolved this coming week. And that you have a calm and quiet Thanksgiving.

Although I am usually big on planning, not this time. I am test driving a new pumpkin bar recipe for our potluck and I guess I will cook the turkey on Monday. Thanksgiving is all the time so I'm not real concerned about one big meal. I made some pumkin pie spice creamer this morning. Both pumpkin dishes were from the pumpkin that I got for free and cooked last week.

My windows are clean and I may sew the dogs sweaters today. Supposed to be 71 and sunny! Perfection to me!!!! Have a great day everyone--and get some rest Cat!
