Snowmom
********** Here are some things that count for miles. These are as you can count them, 1 mile will = one mile. Biking, swiming, walking, and such. ********* These will be counted as 1 hour = one mile ********* will be down and up 10 times = one mile******** These two willl be 30 minutes = one mile weights, jumping rope. ******** You will have to be the judge of these. We have been counting 1 hour as a mile, but, sometimes it isn't so. Therefore, I'm letting you be the judge of these. ************ Last week, September8 - 14, I am going to say with laundry, stairs, shopping, housework, dishes I may have gotten in about 10 miles. I didn't walk on the treadmill or bike at all. One of these days I am in hopes to get back down and do that. Had my pace maker check up in Fargo, so did some shopping too, lots of shopping in fact, got 5 miles over there that day along. Had to be there by 9:30, so had the rest of the day to shop. Went to Hobby Lobby, so you know where a lot of the time was spent. Got a good 1 1/2 mile there alone and then other stores too. Costco was another hour or more, you know how big that is. We did a lot of 'window' shopping too. Ok, who will be ??? ********* Who is going to join us? Anyone who wants to start exercising or walking or whatever, count your miles and add them up this week and post them next week when either Momo or I make the walking post. Quote Link to comment
Annarchy
Snowmom, You sound like you are improving. Congratulations on your pace maker check up-I sure would miss you if'n you were not here. Window shopping is fun, that's about all I ever do anymore. Last week we went swimming twice. I swam 2 miles and walked 3 miles, earned some strength training points by holding on to rocks in the center of the current. Then, with the usual house cleaning and yard work, I think I managed around 3 additional miles. Total: 8 miles. Since that was the last of our swimming season, I am hoping to walk the dog regularly, he's gaining weight. This week I'll be with MIL, this month she has another bus tour scheduled for us. Shopping at outlet stores and Helen of Troy. Yup, window shopping. Quote Link to comment
sassenach
hmm on fridays I am walking and now riding for about 45 mins at a time, Horses. What does that equal out to? I am doing better with balance and walking now, some because of doing this all summer just about. Quote Link to comment
Momo
I am jealous. I love Hobby Lobby! I don't get to go there very often though since it is pretty far away.. Quote Link to comment
Annarchy
I am jealous. I love Hobby Lobby! I don't get to go there very often though since it is pretty far away.. Oh my, if there is a Hobby Lobby on the tour, I am truly in trouble. Arby, maybe Snowmom can help you figure how many miles that would make. I would dearly love to ride a horse, but I am not allowed to, because of my back. Enjoy every moment you can. Quote Link to comment
Momo
Now I have a mental picture of all of us doing very slow, frequently stopped, laps in a Hobby Lobby clicking our little pedometers..lol Quote Link to comment
