Mt_Rider
OK this is the thread where we can keep the data we find on medications. Might be herbal types. Or pharmaceutical. Or just something Grma used and seemed to help. Particularly how to correctly store them. How long they might last under ideal conditions. Any that will not store and might do bad things if they're out of their use-by date, etc. Site your sources, if you can. THIS IS NOT AUTHORIZED MEDICAL INFORMATION, NECESSARILY. EVERYONE MUST DO THEIR OWN RESEARCH AND/OR ASK THEIR MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS. NONE OF US ARE MEDICAL EXPERTS. [Ya know we gotta say that every time...... ] Here is the Harvard Medical School's site regarding how long meds can hold effectiveness. ---------------------------==---------------------------------==--------------------------------------==------------------ https://www.health.harvard.edu/staying-healthy/drug-expiration-dates-do-they-mean-anything This is HARVARD MEDICAL SCHOOL....not a "natural" type site. They talk about the military standards, etc. =-==-=-=-=-=-=- " It's true the effectiveness of a drug may decrease over time, but much of the original potency still remains even a decade after the expiration date. Excluding nitroglycerin, insulin, and liquid antibiotics, most medications are as long-lasting as the ones tested by the military. Placing a medication in a cool place, such as a refrigerator, will help a drug remain potent for many years. " =-=-=-=-=-=-=-= And aspirin that smells of vinegar.... Probably a few more. Good to review at every opportunity. ----------------------------------==-----------------------------------------==---------------------------------- ....okay, Annarchy, will you please PIN this one so it stays at the top in Nature's Prescriptions. Thanks! MtRider .....everyone add more good data as you find it. Edited October 30, 2019 by Mt_Rider 2 1 Quote Link to comment

Littlesister
Yes thank you. Something we really need to know about medications and how to store them. Will be checking my books on this. And post as I find answers to these questions. 1 Quote Link to comment
Mother
With our shaky economy and supply chain idiosyncrasies I thought we all might want to reread this article about a study done by Harvard In 2018. This study was done for the military to test their huge stock pile of medications, both RX and OTC ones. Do not throw your expired meds away before reading this. It could save you a lot on your medical preps. 1 Quote Link to comment
