I finally finished the decorating, got all the presents wrapped, bought all the last minute things I will need for the big meal, have made pumpkin, pecan, and mince meat pies, will make homemade fudge tomorrow and peppermint bark. All that is left to do is straighten up the house, cook the ham and veggies and rolls.....I am ready..

Woke up to snow showers this morning, the high for the day has already been reached, 35 dropping through out the day to 14 degrees for tonight... Just got back from Denny's , we decided to go out for breakfast,yeah,,,,but I still have a dirty kitchen to clean up. I finished christmas shopping last night, just have to sneak them in the house and wrap them not much planned for today, just watching this weather... Have a good one everybody///

Hey everybody, I didn't get in here much yesterday, was kind of ill, don't know what was going on. Just so weak I couldn't hold my head up. But am feeling alot better today.. We are supposed to get our first round of winter precip beginning tonight, with possibly up to 3 inches of snow...I am most worried about everything freezing, our temps are going to be in the single digits...so am getting prepared to stay in for a couple of days....Have been doing some baking and candy making, will run to store when dh gets home from work today and get some more candy making ingredients before the weather sets in. Had a good week as far as dh working and weather, he has actually got in a full 6 days....But know he will not get to work any next week with all this bad weather coming in and the holiday.... Am waiting to hear from our kin in Florida, they are wanting to come up for christmas, but is waiting to see if he will have to work, is supposed to let me know by Monday.... Ok everybody take care and if your traveling, Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, and drive safe... otherwise will holler at yuns later...

For Christmas dinner I plan on having Ham dressing/w gravvy cranberries Greenbeans Potatoes dinner rolls pumpkin pie pecan pie strofoli silk chocolate torte homemade butter toffee peppermint bark holiday punch..

Well folks, I believe that winter has arrived early. I have been on the weather forums for a little bit this morning and watched the weather channel last night and this morning, for our area in Tennessee, we are being advised to stay tuned the weather for the next couple of days, for right now it looks as if come Monday we may be in for our first winter storm,, YEEEHAW... I am going to do up any remaining laundry, and do some more baking today. I made my pumpkin and pecan pies yesterday... and will make my candies today. Plus have to get ready for my bingo game $31,000.00 jack pot tonight... Everybody take care and stay warm, if you live in Tennessee stay tuned to your weather, Sunday into Monday looks interesting, this also goes for Parts of Alabama Georgia....plus several other states...Just check your local weather....

Snowmom, good to see ya, yes we did miss you!!!! Sounds like you have been one busy bee... It is 24 degrees here in Southeast Tennessee,with SNOW SHOWERS, can you believe that, and they were not predicted. This really has put me in the spirit now, nothing like watching the snow fall in the christmas lights, just makes ya want to get busy... Our high today is only going to be in the 30*s, with lo's in the teens for the next several nights... I am going to do another load of YOU GUESSED IT

We have a beautiful day today, the sun is out and there is a nip in the air. The temps(lo"s) are supposed to be down in the 20*s and teens for the next few days... I have been outside setting out my lighted snowmen and candy canes and now am back in the house finishing up laundry and straightening up the rest of the house. Also in search of my punch bowl, can't find it anywhere.. I think I am starting to feel more of the christmas spirit. I think actually getting into the decorating is helping, I usually let dh handle all that while I do all the cooking. But this year he is just slapping it all up and not caring what it looks like... so I guess I am taking it all over.... I have also wrapped the presents for the kids exchange at school this week and for their teachers... Now I have to find time to go to the store to get sandwich makings. I have to make 75 sandwiches for the two classes. and cut them all out in christmas shapes... Guess I better get busy, everybody try to have a wonderful day.....

Usually we got full bore with christmas. I mean we decorate everything inside and out, and food galore. But I have been sick and dh has been ill, and we really still aren't fully recovered yet. Still do not have our energy back yet. So it is just physically we aren't able to do our usual this year..... But hopefully things will be better here soon....

Good Morning, everyone: Just dropped in to check on everyone. We just finished breakfast, and reading our morning papers. Now I need to go clean up the living room and kitchen. and do some more of the endless freaking

This year I am refusing to get stressed out about the holidays. As long as we are able to do for the kids, that is all I am worried about. I have 1/2 of their presents already wrapped and under the tree, and already have their stocking stuffers. So just need to pick up a few extra things. I still need to pick up something for dh's boss. But as far as giving gifts to other family members, well they will just have to understand that we just can't afford it this year. Anyway, they haven't wanted anything to do with us all year, so don't come around now expecting a gift...I sent them all a card and they will sufficient enough. As far as the meal goes, I already have my turkey and ham, bought those while they were on sale during Thankgsgiving. Have just about all I need for my baking, just need a couple of items and some fresh fruit. I will start making my pie crust this week and go ahead and make my dressing also. Just freeze it. Sure made Thanksgiving dinner alot easier.. I am starting to get more into the spirit. I was able to get some decorating done, and get the front part of the house straightened up yesterday which helped alot... But, just do what you can, and don't let it bring you down...

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

The rain finally stopped, but the sky is so heavy with snow clouds and the winds and temps are freezing. Sure feels like we could have a major snow storm at any moment. But isn't in the forecast. Dh and boss decided to try to lay some electric lines on a house today, was able to get a full day in. Thank Goodness. So, since he was at work, I was able to get some work done on the house. Got the living room cleaned up and finished decorating, did a load of laundry, and cleaned the kitchen. You should see my charlie brown christmas tree. I went outside and cut some small tree limbs, then placed them in a glass vase filled with some gravel,to weigh it down. Then I place some odd and end ornaments on the tree, as well as strung some clear lights through it. Dh had a fit over it. He had planned buying a little table top decorated tree for our kitchen counter. But when he seen what I had put there instead he rapidly changed his mind... Spider, your neighbors are in my prayers, I hate that they lost everything and right here at the holidays... Mommyof 5, I hope you get to feeling better soon. Do you take a prescribed medication for migraines, if not try Excedrin migraine. It is absolutely wonderful. I was having hormonal migraines, the doctor put on some medication that didn't do anything for me, even put me back on birth control, still had the headaches. Then when I started feeling one coming on I would take one of the Excedrins, and it would go away, It really lessened them, I havent had a migraine in over a year.. I am going to the store tomorrow, Ihave to get things for the kids christmas parties, and then I want to start getting some of the things I will be needing for christmas dinner. STill not sure exactly what we will be having. I plan on going on to the foodtv.com website and get some really good ideas. Dh just went to bed, he and boss are going to try to work tomorrow. The boss figured up since September, they have only worked one full week since September. So they are trying to work every chance they can get. I will be putting the kids to bed shortly, so I will be all alone, in the peaceful quiet.. and I can get online without being disturbed every five minutes.... So every body have a good evening and try to stay warm bbbbbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!

Darlene, I hope that you weren't hurt in the accident, and hope it all works out in your favor. It must be catching, the not knowing what you want to do, but at the same time not wanting to do anything. I have been going through that for over a week now. Just glad your ok, and glad to see you posting again...

I don't know which is worse, the kids or the husbands, they should all come with warning labels BTW, have you priced tomatoes lately,,,uuuugggghhhhhh!!!! I paid $1.30 for one little tomato for hamburgers. $3.49 for a try of grape tomatoes for a salad....ridiculous!!!

Or at least I thought, I can't seem, to find the post I was thinking of....
