  2. Ok once again I need help. I have some peaches that I canned last year in a medium syrup. I want to make a peach pie using these. Does anyone have a recipe they could share with me? Something with just the simple basic ingredients? Like peaches flour cinnamon, sugar, etc. I don't have any lemon peel. I want to make this for my sisters family when they come over on Sunday. So once again... I am begging.....

I don't keep spaghetti noodles around. Because I prefer macaroni. So if that's what she used then I think I will try that. Thanks so much for the idea. Think I will try it on the hubby tonight. Although I don't have mozzerella cheese just shredded colby or something.
  8. We need ones of those Graemlins that has a big foot in it's mouth.........
  9. I use it on my carpets too. We have trouble keeping the cats out of the house. We sprinkle baking soda heavily in those areas and it really does take out the odor. I also mix it with my shampoo as I have extremely oily hair. Makes it soft and shiney for a few days anyway.
  10. I pick up my Encyclopedia of Country Living nearly daily during this time of year. Also current and past issues of Countryside Magazine. As well as other homesteading books I can get my hands on. Last "real" book I read was By Beverly Lewis... My favorite author. If you haven't read her Lancaster County Trilogy, you should!
  11. Aren't archives great? That was cute! Oh and by the way what's a library???
  12. lol westbrook!!! I sit here and complain about the heat. I should remember when my mother was a kid just 7 miles up the road they didn't even have electricity. I fear I would surely die without my air conditioner. Not to mention I have 3 fans in my room. One's a ceiling fan, ones a box fan over the furnace vent and the other is a big Patton likefan that blows directly on my HEAD. Wasn't it this hot back then too? But then the amish go without fans and all that too. But of course most of the pioneer women didn't live over 50.

  17. There is absolutely nothing on here that I don't like. Friendship, advice, love, encouragment, recipes, companionship, know-how! What's not to like? Oh and yeah the cyber food is mouth watering also!
  18. Good evening. Sunday my twins will celebrate their 14th birthday. I wasn't really sure where I should post this question. Can any of you give me ideas of some practical gifts for their age group? Also they are wanting to invite some friends over. We don't really have the money to feed all of them. How about suggestions on making lots of good fast food that they will all enjoy and not go home hungry. I told my kids to tell their friends not to bring gifts but maybe chips and soda. The more I think about it I am thinking that's not really fair. I think for the most part they don't care if their friends bring anything. Just them being here sharing their special day. I really appreciate everyone on here so very much. Keep the advice coming. I feel so much at home here.
  19. I spent hours on this site last night! Thanks so much for posting it Mommyof5! I know our family of 5 is small compared to some. But I love to cook for neighbors, family and friends! Having teenagers there's usually an extra kid of two lurking somewhere.
  20. Wow was it a hot day today! Our heat index here at 1030 at night is still almost 90. Oh I wish it would rain. I hope those of you that are in Indiana are safe and well from the storms that are passing through. Just being outside for the little bit I was watering the animals, wore me out. Tomorrow we are to have a cold front. God willing. And highs in the 70's this weekend. Hope you all have a wonderful night! Love, Dawn
