  1. Shepherds Pie

1 pound ground beef -browned with onion

    2 cans greenbeans

2 cans cream of chicken soup

    1 pkg shredded cheese

5 cups instant mashed potatoes (prepared)

Combine greenbeans with the cream of chicken soup, put in the bottom of a cake pan. Then layer the drained ground beef on top of the greenbean mixture. Next add the mashed potatoes. Top with cheese and cook at 375' until warmed through and cheese is melted.

My kids love this and it's simple.. Sometimes I substitute on can of corn for a can of greenbeans.

  2. Good Mornin ya'll. It's already 46 here and it's supposed to be in the 60's today. Lil DD is trying her best to convince me that she has a tummy ache and needs to stay home. So I guess she will come with Mommy to work today and help me make my deliveries. Last night we had a catering. I worked 11 hours and 15 minutes! UGH.. I was so tired last night and my feet hurt so badly. I think I slept well though which is a good thing. Carla and her husband Don left the house around 4am.. We didn't have a very good turnout. But I bought some new books, Storey's Basic Country Skills and Barnyard in your backyard. Plus a book on preparedness. Now I am broke again. While here Carla's husband Don checked out my computer since that's what he does. I was supposed to get 30 dollars towards a book but instead we traded that for an antivirus protection for my computer. Since I don't have credit cards or a debit card it's hard for me to purchase things online. So Don did it for me and all it cost me was 10 dollars, plus hosting them. So it all worked out. I finally got all that nasty spyware off my computer. Thank goodness. I had over 600 on here. Well I guess it's time to think about going back to work. I get the day off tomorrow. Because it's veterans day and the kids will be home and the banks will be closed. So the only deliveries that have to be made are the senior citizens.

  3. Hi Joan those all look great! But the one with the 4 children and the mother is for Slgrubbs! Lemme look at the two for me real quick and see which one I like! Thanks!

OK I like the one on the bottom but could I get my name in small letters going across the top of it?

    Thanks again.

  4. Wow Spidey your up early.. Good Morning Ya'll.. It's weird to have classes on Saturday isn't it?

Today is house cleaning and wood cutting day here on our farm! I am going to try and make either home made donuts or cinnamon rolls...

It's a chilly morning out this morning. But I would rather be a little chilly than hot. I am having a bout with my first winter cold.. My head feels completly full.. Yippee for me. Sneeze Sneeze Sneeze Cough Cough Cough.. That's all I have done since I got up.. Well that and sweep the floors.

Ya'll have a great day today.. The sun really does remember how to shine.. Amazing!

  5. Hey girls guess what??? Buttercup has an actual weekday morning off!!!! It will just be me and the girls in the morning.. DS is staying the night at Grandpa's he has school to where the girls don't! I like to drink hot water with some lemon and honey especially when I have a sore throat!

So I am gonna sleep in!!!!! Then I may take the girls to a thrift store about 45 minutes away.. Then we need to get the house ready for Carla Emery's visit..Then I have to work 4-7 tomorrow night! To a wedding on Saturday at 4.. That morning we desperately need to cut wood, the supply is getting low..

So come on over ladies ( and guys too if you'd like) sit by the woodstove with me with your tea and let's chat a spell..

  6. Our house was built in 1980.. Plenty of insulation. It wasn't the heat bill that was expensive it's the power bill. We have put new elements in the water heater which is electric and they put a new meter on the pole outside.. It's cut our bill over half..

My door is always open, come on in and sit a spell with me, you can warm yourself in front of the fireplace, or pull a chair up next to the cookstove!

Is your stove in your kitchen? Yes it's in the other end of the kitchen.

If so,does your kitchen get hot when you use your stove?

Yes it can get warm but it's been cool enough lately that it doesn't bother us much. We have been using it for the past two nights to cook and warm us..

If it is in the kitchen, where did you put it? I will take a picture of it and send it to ya.

I don't have anywhere in my kitchen for one.

Lucky you, I would love to have one. My dad

has one but like I said, I have no room for one.

    How about a Garage?

    More questions about your stove.

How long after you start the fire before

you can cook on it? It depends on how big of a fire we have.. I was fixing bacon and eggs on it this morning in 15 minutes or less..

Are you only using cast iron or regular pots and pans too?

I have used cast iron, enamel, and metal pans.. Yes you can use regular pans too. I used a glass cake pan to make brownies the other evening. They say you shouldn't use things with plastic handles , just use common sense..

No we don't have a coffee pot yet! But I did look for one today. The place I went only had metal and I would prefer an enamel percalating one. DH still makes his coffee in the electric pot. But I will get the other kind just encase we lose electric.. Plus we are trying to cut down on our electric bill.. The finally put in a new meter.. And we are now down to 125 a month.. I have had it over 300 for one month in the past. So there might have been a short in the meter! 125 I can handle!!!!

Tonight dh started the stove and now I am going to cut up some pork steaks and brown them then simmer it in some baked beans, and have biscuits, applesauce and cottage cheese...

Been missing being here with ya'll.. Have a blessed evening!

Unike? Have you checked with area hospitals and nursing homes? Sometimes they have programs to help you get your CNA.. I did it back in 89 in 6 weeks through a program. We did our training and classes at the local hospital.. I called the state licensing place the other day just to check and see if my name was on the list and sure enough I am still certified.. Although it's been years since I have worked at it professionally. I did work for 4 months last year for an individual who let older people live in her homes for 1000.00 a month per person! It was great and I loved it.. You really get a feel for the older people when you work with them on a daily basis.. Best of luck to you!!!

  8. Mornin Glories!! How is everyone? I feel like I have deserted you all.. But the hubby has been a very good house hubby this week! Thank God he goes back to work tomorrow because we will need the money by the time it's over.

Carla Emery is due here Monday!

OH OH OH!!! I have been cooking on my cookstove since Saturday! See? I can do it! Haven't gotten the baking thing in it down yet.. But I can turn out some awesome tasting bacon and eggs on it. One night we had stew. We have done pancakes and sausage you name it! You should smell the house when the bacon smell and wood smoke flavors combine! WOW!!!!!! The only time I have cooked on the electric stove since Saturday is I came down and make a quick grilled cheese sandwich one night. That's it. We are having frozen pizza's tonight.. I don't know how they will turn out! I may have to use the electric one for them...

Hey Slgrubbs Sweetie! It's a nice feeling to know you missed me and e-mailed me personally! Hugs to ya girl!

OK it's off to work for me! (somebody's gotta bring money in this week! LOL)

    Have a great day everyone!!!

  9. Dh and I both went to her parade and walked with her and the other kids kinda as "room mothers" making sure they crossed the road safely, didn't fight, and kept up with everyone else.. I found Jo and little princess costume at the used shop for a dollar. Just a pink gown with a pink shawl.. I bought her the Crown and wand at walmart. I got the whole thing for less than 4.50 ...I had to go right back to work after the parade.. So she went on to party without us and DH ran to the grocery store for my boss! LOL.. Tomorrow he's gonna try and finish hooking up the wood cookstove and then he's got some drywall to hang, and we have to clean up the house and the farm for Carla Emery's visit! 9 days and counting!

I guess it's safe to say GOOD Saturday Mornin EVERYONE!!!
