  1. Do any of your health insurances provide an "Ask a Nurse" benefit???
  2. Lots of alternatives to both the usual rubbing alcohol and aloe vera gel that are in short supply at the moment.

  4. I saw a meme yesterday "related" to this use but I cannot find it again even though I have spent the last 2+ hours looking for it. IF I find it again you can be sure I'll post it here.
  5. Is he taking Metformin ER? The "extended release" formulation is much easier on the tummy. Ask his doc to switch if he is on "regular" metformin.
  6. ABOUT YOUR PETS It's been a busy week in the media as a new study revealed cats not only could contract COVID-19 but they could pass it onto each other. And yesterday news broke that a Tiger in a Bronx Zoo tested positive for coronavirus. We brought on infectious disease expert Dr. J. Scott Weese who tells us why we still don't need to panic and shares tips for managing the threat with cats & dogs. ALSO:

  10. Several states are saying if you don't live here, don't come here. Or, if you are already here but don't "belong" here (non-resident), GO HOME. Seems lots of peeps are still intending on going to beaches and having their Easter holiday/vacation trips despite all of the warnings.
  11. Knowing that would keep me from going to the hospital! There is promising research out of John's Hopkins that treating someone with PLASMA from someone who survived COVID would help them recover very quickly. I sure hope they are able to start doing this to the general population.

  13. This is a very interesting video that explains WHY someone with diabetes is at more risk than the general population. They are not at a higher risk on contracting it, BUT, the ability of the body to fight it once contracted is impaired by many of the effects diabetes has on the body.

  16. The problems with the "Chat Box' is one of the reasons I started the secret FB Group called Friends of MrsS. You will NOT FIND the group by searching FB for it - you have to be invited to join. If anyone is interested please message me here and I will tell you the process.
  17. Do NOT self-medicate for this pandemic! The name "chloroquine" resonated with the man's wife, who asked that her name not be used to protect the family's privacy. She'd used it previously to treat her koi fish. "I saw it sitting on the back shelf and thought, 'Hey, isn't that the stuff they're talking about on TV?'" The couple — both in their 60s and potentially at higher risk for complications of the virus — decided to mix a small amount of the substance with a liquid and drink it as a way to prevent the coronavirus. "We were afraid of getting sick," she said. Within 20 minutes, both became extremely ill, at first feeling "dizzy and hot." "I started vomiting," the woman told NBC News. "My husband started developing respiratory problems and wanted to hold my hand." She called 911. The emergency responders "were asking a lot of questions" about what they'd consumed. "I was having a hard time talking, falling down." Shortly after he arrived at the hospital, her husband died. https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/man-dies-after-ingesting-chloroquine-attempt-prevent-coronavirus-n1167166?fbclid=

The instructions were to separately spray each one on the countertops, etc, then wipe it off with a paper towel. Does anyone else remember that cleaning tip??? ETA: FOUND IT!
