  1. Did you know that that Pyrex "Cornflower" design casserole dish could be worth booku bucks??? Saw an article online not too long ago. Seems there's a "nostalgia" thing going on and some of those pieces are selling (on eBay) etc for hundreds of dollars. Thought you might like to know - just in case you're in need of some cash (for that sump pump).

    COMEDY

Here's one about whether or not it understands a southern accent.
  3. Miki - I made a slight "alteration" to the one you sent. Hope you don't mind.
  4. I always heard to use cream of tartar for that purpose. Has anyone here tried the vinegar trick?
  5. That is why my online low-carb/keto profile is MrsJACKSPRAT!
  6. Are you a member of Kristie's FB group? (https://www.facebook.com/groups/CookingKetoWithKristie) If so, what is your member name there? (you can message me here or there. ) BTW - I would NOT ask this question if they were eating TURKEY bacon!!!
  7. All ornaments received and hung on the tree! Can you find yours??? Here are some other decorations. --------------------------------- Welcome to my home. Creche display.................
  8. Got Snowmom's ornament the day after Christmas. It is now hanging on the tree with the rest of them. Thanks everyone. <3
  9. Mt_Rider Do you still have ducks? Is/was your flock more like this one...... or this one........................................?
  10. Sound very interesting Kappy, but I have sooooooooooooooooooo many questions! If you're a workshop participant do you bring your own hog to work on??? If not, is the workshop videoed so you can take it home and follow it step-by-step when it comes time to butcher your own animal at home? If you attend, but are not confident when it comes time to process your meat at home, can you call someone for advice or hands-on help?
  11. I'm not sure if you ever said you were on FaceBook or not. If you're not, I STRONGLY suggest you create a profile in order to join the Type 2 Diabetes Rebels group! It is a private group - only members can read the posts and new posts need approval to ensure that nobody adds anything outside of the dietary guidelines the group follows which is strict Keto. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1752321458323821/ After all of that, if you still are not interested in the give and take/conversation that is available on FB, here is a link to a dot-com site: https://diabetesrebels.simdif.com/page-408711.html
  12. Not yet. My informed delivery doesn't seem to include it today either. :/
  13. Does he have a Shatzki Ring? I do. I have had to have it "stretched" about 3 times over the last 20 yrs or so. I just wish the d@mn thing would BREAK and be done with it. "Twilight" sleep and "gagging" the scope down are not my favorite things to do!!! :O Take your CPAP with you, and USE it! I had it with me when I had my pacemaker put in - mainly because I don't breathe well when lying flat on my back. Having it with you will help the "illusion" be more real, AND it will help you to take deep relaxing breaths. I get the boxes of flavored "Singles to Go" drink mixes (sugar free in my case) and I use 1 packet mixed into a LARGE tub of whole milk plain Greek yogurt. Yummmmmmmmm!
  14. I will be sending mine out tomorrow (Mon,16th). Have received all but Snowmom's. Can't wait to see it.
  15. Do those prices include shipping??? You (not you personally) know the food will not arrive at serving temperature and there will be some work to do to get it ready to serve, so why not just make it yourself???
  16. So, basically you mean western civilization/city dwellers?
  17. Here's a recipe for cooking a turkey in TWO HOURS! I have roasted my turkeys using this method for the last 5 years or so. The turkey is juicy, the skin is crispy, the family is happy. And YES, the most important preparation step is to make sure your oven is CLEAN! NOTE: I originally got this turkey from Food Network's Alton Brown. HIs instructions vary slightly from those above. The instructions in the recipe above do not call for the use of a meat thermometer. Alton Brown does. He says to insert a meat thermometer at an angle at the thickest part of the breast TOUCHING the BONE. Place the turkey into the oven with the thermometer at the back. Roast the turkey at 475F for the first 30-40 mins, then REDUCE the heat, turn the turkey around (so you can see the thermometer), and finish cooking at 375F until the thermometer reaches 160F at the BONE.* Remove turkey from the oven and cover breast. Allow to rest for 20-30 mins before carving His notes say that 160F at the bone (which is the coldest part of the bird and takes the longest to warm up) means that the breast meat will be at 170F. Here's one of my turkeys cooked this way.
  18. Depending on your email client, you can set up filters so that all of that unsolicited mail that your spam filter doesn't catch can be automatically sent to either your spam folder or the trash.
  19. Join in Annarchy. You have plenty of time! I won't be sending mine early in Dec either. Probably more like the 10th or so.
  20. I give up. What does this mean??? (I did a search and could not find this expression anywhere, including sites dedicated to idioms.) I am guessing that it refers to someone who can easily be repulsed by the sight of some foods, or whose stomach gets easily upset. However, I don't see how anyone who can eat blood pudding could possibly have a delicate stomach in either sense of the word!
  21. To refrigerate or not??? Text version here (in case you can't view the video): http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2015/11/americans-refrigerate-eggs-countries-dont/
