  1. We have both cars home and running again! DH has a new starter and I have a horn for the first time since we bought it, about 2015. We also have about $300 less. Oh well. Today is easy for me. Walk. Walk dogs. Make mayonnaise rolls. Make Impossible Caramel pie. I gave up on the salt rising bread until summer. Can't get a starter going. I may try a sourdough next week. Give Peanut Butter a bath as she goes for haircut tomorrow. I prefer bathing her so I know what is used (with her seizure issues). Other than that, just spend time outside with the pups while we are having excellent weather! Hang on @Littlesister. July is coming! I'm so glad that you can help with your mom @Mt_Rider!
  2. Busy morning and I haven't left our little town. Walked first to grocery store, then to drug store, then to health clinic, then back to drug store, then to mechanics. Both of our cars have been there over the weekend. DH's died Saturday and was towed there -starter. Mine has been waiting for a horn to be wired in. It was a lot of walking. DH's car is already home, mine is at mechanic's still. At home, I made low carb salmon patties and stuffed peppers (with venison and cauliflower rice). Did 2 loads of laundry. I'm tired! And the play was very good! We had a blast! Definitely small town production and we sat in hard back chairs. Water was $1 a bottle and they had home baked treats and fresh popcorn at intermission! It was a lot of fun! Sorry you are having issues with the neighbor, @Becca_Anne.
  3. I'm glad that you had a nice, though chilly ride. @Mt_Rider Will have Church this morning. Walk dogs. Going to a play this afternoon with a friend. "Prescription:Murder" It's supposed to be the precursor to Columbo. I haven't been to a play since the mid 90's. Used to love going to plays and the dinner theatre when we lived in FL!
  4. Light day today. Will walk first. Walk dogs. Salt rising starter was a bust. My container says cornmeal but may be cornmeal mix. Can't use that for the starter. I will try again Sunday evening. I'm sure I will come up with some little project today. Maybe purge a junk drawer or something.
  5. I will pray for your homeowner friends, @Mt_Rider. Sounds like a rough vacation or visit! Good morning! Already walked. Cleaned bathrooms. Dusted house. Still have to take ebay photos. I think I will try something I haven't done for awhile. Making salt rising bread. First, I make a starter and then a sponge and then the bread. I think it is a two day ordeal, but my grandma used to make it and I loved it. Will update as I go.
  6. I'm off to the dentist first thing this morning to get half of my teeth deep cleaned. Certainly, not my favorite thing but part of my shtf preps. Will be glad to get it all done. Drop off car to mechanic as he didn't want it yesterday- too busy. Get home and walk. Walk dogs. Look for some documents that I put in a safe place. Hah!
  7. @Littlesister, have you tried pineapple juice? That works best for me.
  8. Yesterday, walked first. Then thrift store for pillow cases for local veterinarian. She puts deceased pets in them instead of handing their bodies to folks when an animal is put to sleep. I wanted to donate some. Went to Aldi and Walmart. Home and walked dogs. Made Chicken Fried Hamburgers for dinner (with cauliflower rice) Today will walk first. Doc appt for re-check next. Take my car to mechanic to get horn hooked up. Put away dog food that was canned on Monday. Rest I hope you have a great trip @Jeepers! Glad you will have some time away and I pray they make some progress while you are gone! I'm thankful that your DH is getting straightened out @Annarchy. It's a big stress when we know things aren't right. And I hope your heating unit is sorted soon, also. I, too, look forward to seeing a Christmas tree in that window @Becca_Anne. It looks made for it! I'm glad you are feeling better and I love organizing @Mt_Rider! Actually, I like getting rid of stuff even more. Hoping that you are feeling a bit better today, too @Littlesister. You do a lot for feeling poorly! Have a good Wednesday, Ladies!
  9. I made 2 lemon pie coffee cakes for Church when I got home Saturday eve. And egg muffins for me. Yesterday was Church. Walked dogs Prepped meat and vegies and made mass quantities of dog food. Cooked it slow overnight. This morning, walked first. Started laundry. First round of pressure canning almost done. Planted parsley and chives in lick tubs. Just have to finish laundry and pressure canning. @Jeepers, Follow the money. I think those making and selling plastic bags are who first said that paper bags were killing all the trees. Just my opinion. I too, keep bags in my car as opposed to taking them into the store. LOL
  10. Rain here, today. Did a walkaerobics video instead of going for walk. I much prefer getting outside, but glad I have an option. Helping a friend today and tomorrow. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
  11. In regards to Peanut. Her liver numbers were off the charts high. She is not diabetic and her kidney function is fine. Doc thinks she has some heart problems besides her murmer. Our course of action (okayed by doc) is to give her low dose of milk thistle and vitamin E. Continue making her food and giving her treats as we have been. Doc says that Peanut eats better than she does. LOL We will just keep loving on her and walking and keeping her happy until she has changes in physical and personality. Thanks for the prayers! Any low cost or natural input is welcome. Already walked this morning. Next, will walk dogs. Need to find a couple of documents. Boil a few eggs. Bake a few bacon wrapped sausages- finish under broiler. Haircut this afternoon. Bible study this evening.
  12. Today, will walk in a few minutes. DH has dentist appt. that I will accompany him on. I have a lunch to go to at Church and picking up a friend first, then taking her to a local store. No big work today. Maybe set up a couple more lick tubs. I hope you feel (normal?), soon @Mt_Rider! And you, too @Littlesister and @Jeepers. Tis the season, I guess. @Annarchy, I may have missed it, but did you get your heat replaced?
  13. Internet was out all day, yesterday. I got a lot done. LOL Walked. Made a low carb breakfast casserole. Planted vegies in lick tubs. Did laundry. More ebay photos. Gave Peanut Butter (dog) a bath. Today, walked first. Went to local grocery for sales. Peanut Butter to vet for blood work. She is either diabetic, has kidney or bladder infection or has some type of kidney disease. We will get results tomorrow. Went to auto parts store for horn to replace original that doesn't work. Home and walked dogs. That's enough!
  14. I pray that it is just a cold and no bronchitis, @Mt_Rider! You and your dh don't need anything extra to deal with! Yesterday, walked first. Took friend to town with me to Aldi and Walmart. I kind of did my month ending shop. Not completely, but I am a little uneasy. Washed rugs and dog blankets. Today, will walk in a few minutes. Start crockpot of deer sausage, cabbage and potatoes. Take friend to vet with her cat. Has to have him put down. Sad, but the cat is suffering. Come home and walk dogs. Take ebay photos. Bible study tonight.
  15. I'm in Central MS. At least in FL I could go to the beach!
  16. Am washing rugs and dog blankets this morning. Will walk, next. Do ebay photos. Walk dogs. Purge kitchen cabinet that I didn't get to, yesterday. Or FL. Haha I still think FL is higher, especially on the Gulf coast. @Mt_Rider, don't move, turn around or think! LOL @Annarchy, I hope you don't have to involve a lawyer!
  17. Wow @Annarchy! God was right there with you two! Will walk, shortly. Laundry. Purge a kitchen cabinet. Make tacos. Cut up some celery. Almost too easy! LOL
  18. That's a great greenhouse that you are building @kappydell! Pretty kitty, too! I'm glad you are stocked up @Jeepers! One can prep anywhere. I wish all our shoulder problems would resolve! Mine is still from my fall back in October. It is getting better, but sometimes keeps me from sleeping. Church first this morning. Made two coffeecakes last night for refreshments. It is our first time to meet at new location. Methodist fellowship hall. We will pay a designated amount for utilities and a small amount for a pastor to come from seminary. This will help the Methodist Church as they only have 10 or 12 members, I am told. Details still up in the air about sale of our original Church building and monies. Only the preacher who pushed for the sale knows anything. Sigh. Later, will walk dogs. Purge laundry room shelves and be done with that room.
  19. Good morning! Will walk first. Bake cookies from my stash of homemade frozen cookie dough. Cookies are for a friend's 71st Birthday party this afternoon! Should be fun. May work on purging and re-arranging laundry room cabinets and shelves.
  20. It's going to be a stormy day here, today. No walk. Will dehydrate sweet potato slices for dogs. Make hummus. Maybe update password list. We are exempt from jury duty at 65 in this State. Also, if we have any symptoms of being sick at all! I love your set up for the goats and chickens! You get your exercise in!
  21. I added mashed blackberries and used molasses to sweeten. I used a little extra water.
  22. I don't ever want to be that popular, @Jeepers. Yikes! I know you can't do it right now, but I recently started making switchel (like gatorade, but without the coloring and chemicals). One day (or minute) at a time, lady! Already walked. Took car to mechanic to replace dashboard dimmer switch and hook up a horn. Got my labs back from doc. Cholesterol down. Yay! Supposedly I need Vitamin D badly for $15 a month. Nope. I will buy my own for less. Never been tested for that before and I am outside in the sun every day, so I have my doubts. Pharmacist said he thinks the docs may be getting a little kick back. Sounds about right. Checked what seeds I have for planting in lick tubs. Still have to walk dogs. Bible study tonight.
  23. Supposed to be 66 here today! Tomorrow- 76. Tomorrow will be my outside planting day! This morning, I will walk first. Wash sheets and blankets. Clean out and re-organize office cabinet drawer with office supplies in it. Prepare seeds, etc. for planting, tomorrow.
