  1. We are having similar issues. And that's the truth about repair folks! When we find a good one, we want to adopt them! Still pretty cold here. First, I will go to therapy at 10. Come home and walk myself. Walk dogs. Ebay photos. Stay warm, you all!
  2. Hope you're having a wonderful Birthday, motherearth!
  3. 49 degrees in the house this morning. Waiting for a call back from heating fellow. Mississippi needs to warm up! Only plans for today are to take some ebay photos. Walk, if it warms up enough! Sounds like everyone had a nice Christmas Day! Some, more eventful than others.
  4. Since my previous post: First, (and I say that for a reason) the central heat/air unit has died and since we have water, I washed dog blankets. Apparently, the drainage pipe going from washer is frozen and the floor flooded. So, the floor is nice and clean now. That was 2. Waiting on #3. Kinda thinking the electric will go out, but hoping it will be something smaller. Sigh. Merry Christmas anyway, since Christmas has nothing to do with my little drama!
  5. Merry Christmas! Got up at 5:30. DH and I opened presents. Made biscuits and gravy casserole. Going to wash dog blankets this morning. I have a friend coming over at 11:30 for lunch with us. Cook a take and bake pizza. Walk dogs- maybe. Relax!
  6. Cold here, too! Water pipes frozen here, but not broken ( I hope). We did everything that we normally do, but it's been colder for longer this time. All I have planned for today is to wash dog blankets. Sweep house. Take photos of shoes for ebay. Make cheese grits (because I want them) and prep a casserole of some type for tomorrow's breakfast. Easy day!
  7. 2 degrees here with windchill! Good morning! It's 16 degrees now which is definitely not normal Southwestern Mississippi weather! Supposed to get up to 26 for a high. I have plans to clean up shoes to sell. Clean baths and dust. Put deer sausage, bell peepers and onions in crock pot for dinners. Walk dogs later if wind dies down a bit. Stay warm!
  8. I used to .ake some that were just pumpkin, oats and a little honey. Not sure if I baked them or not. Safe travels home!
  9. I picked up my friend and went to Walmart at 7:30 this morning before the crazies came out. Got everything but frozen green beans (for dog treats). We now have a small tent to put up in the living room if we lose power again. Cooked sausage and scrambled eggs for DH breakfasts. Sliced up carrots for dog treats. It is up to 56 now and down to 15 tonight. Already got towels out to wrap faucets. Going to find something else to do shortly.
  10. We all survived. He bit DH, but better him than the vet. Glad it's over til June!
  11. @Becca_Anne, I slice them in food processor, then place on cookie sheets and dehydrate at 225 degrees for a couple of hours and turn over for another hour or so. They will get crisp. Have fun with your family!!!
  12. Definitely! I still send quite a few out, but don't receive many back. On a related note, one card I received yesterday had been opened. I contacted the sender and she said it was just the card, but still... And my DH's first wife is one of the few that still sends a card, actually her whole family sends cards. She is still a good friend. DH and she divorced about 35 years ago. I didn't meet DH until they had been divorced a couple of years, but she and I hit it off. I guess DH has a type. LOL This morning, I will walk first. Then take Oreo to vet- he get a few more pills this morning so we can get him in the office (hopefully)! Once home, I have shoes to clean up for photographs before listing for sale -6 pairs. Water jugs to fill and freeze. Therapy at 2 pm Church business meeting at 6:30. Any other outside winterizing I think of.
  13. A change in perspective is always beneficial for me! At least that is something that I have control over and can do at will. I believe things will be "interesting" for at least awhile. I think life does come at us in waves, so we can appreciate the highs and get through the lows, knowing we will rebound.
  14. Good morning! I will start out making sweet potato treats (for dogs). I slice them in food processor and then dehydrate them in the oven. Takes a few hours. Then write more ebay drafts on shoes. Hopefully, it will stop raining by then and I can walk and then walk dogs. We will start giving Oreo pills this evening to sedate him for tomorrow's vet visit.
  15. Congratulations, Grandma!!! A new adventure begins!!!
  16. @euphrasyne, I hope your DH recovers quickly and completely! Did very little yesterday besides Church and walk the dogs. Resting from helping friend organize for the 2 previous days. Today, have already started laundry and made a couple of phone calls. Set up my vitamins for the month. Will make a sausage crescent roll bake at some point. Cut up carrots for dog treats. Write a bunch of drafts for shoes that I am selling (downsizing). Therapy this afternoon for shoulder. Rainy and not sure when or if I will walk.
  17. Good morning! @Jeepers My issue with Easy Spirit is that the older ones have great mid-sole support, but the new ones are either made with cheaper materials, manufactured at a cheaper place or both. I tried on a pair of Romys with high hopes, but they are definitely not the same. Sigh After walking this morning, it will be a full day. First to Piggly Wiggly for local sale. Then to eye doc to find out why I still don't have glasses. Supposed to have been 2 weeks and it's been over 2 months. Then Walmart for a few things (read $50 or more) Next Shoe Store to return shoes I bought last weekend. Come home and walk dogs. Pick up routine for at home therapy. Bake cookies for get together tonight (already made just slice and bake) Take cookies and myself to Bible Study Christmas party.
  18. This is not specific, but sometimes I just type into Pinterest the ingredients that I want to use up and get so many recipe suggestions! Yesterday, I put in leftover biscuits. I will be making croutons. They were on my list and now I can take them off. Sometimes, I just need a suggestion.
  19. I'm sure trying! Won an auction for the ones I am looking at on ebay. This morning, I will try to walk before the storm hits. I have 13 pairs of shoes (mostly Easy Spirits) that I will work on cleaning up and photographing to sell on ebay. I'm sure I didn't pay more than $3 for any of them (at thrift stores) Shred cheese--to cheap to buy pre-shredded. Some paperwork to fill out for therapy on shoulder. I would like to write drafts on some of the shoes, but if there is thunder and lightning that will be out. Business meeting tonight at Church. Staying home is nice!
  20. Will walk first. Drop off jeep to mechanic who wants to check something. I have an therapy evaluation for my rotator cuff. They are supposed to show me some exercises I can do at home. Come home and walk dogs. Clean soles of shoes I bought recently so I can return them. Sigh Not enough support for as much walking as I do. Make the last of the cookie dough. Yay! I'm tired of cookies! These will be white chocolate maple hickory nut cookies.
  21. I'm glad that you are starting to come out the other side of that illness, @Jeepers! The lingering effects of any sickness are as hard as the sick time itself.
  22. Glad you are working a new sleep routine, Mt Rider! I hope it works for you. I am wearing my new shoes now so we will see. Hoping for a regular Monday here. Will walk first. Do laundry. List an air fryer that I don't use on Market place. Make cookie dough. Sit out with pups again while weather cooperates!
