  1. We had storms roll in on Sunday night. The river is low on the way to my parents and we are watering what is in of the garden but the grass is still green. The neighbors are watering their lawns already.

    Tuesday...

Oh Cat! Hang in there, it's almost over. I remember my AP classes, most of them were less work but more reading. Physics was my killer. The teacher should have been teaching college classes. We would ask a question, he would explain it the same way and someone else would ask the same thing in a slightly different way all in the hopes of an answer we understood. Never happened.
  3. Morning wink & everyone to follow~ Wink~ congratulations on finishing the garden. I'm waiting for DH to fill the rest of the beds. I have leaf and head lettuce, swiss chard, potatoes, onions, green beans, and carrots all coming in. I planted cilantro seeds Tuesday so well see if anything comes about. I haven't ventured to the greenhouses, yet. It's beautiful out this morning! DS1 has already asked to go out to play. We need to go grocery shopping but payroll has gone to direct deposit so I'm not sure when the $$ arrives since this is the first week for it. I need to run to the Verizon store and have my phone looked at today. We need to finish up the last few things for DS1's birthday and party on Sunday. I need to finish my "homework" for my knitting class, too. I think that's enough for today. Have a great day!
  4. Good afternoon~ We went to the zoo this morning with my sil and niece. It was a little chilly since the zoo is at the Lake. DS1 is crashed out so that tells me it was a good day. I managed to throw a load of laundry in the washer and a load of dishes in the machine before we left so I need to finish those up and put the dishes I'm dropping off for a garage sale into a rinse cycle. I through ribs in the crock pot for dinner. I have my first hat and scarf knitting class tomorrow so I'm trying to finish my swatch (4 inches) now rather than tonight. We'll go check on "Great" tomorrow at some point and DD has taekwondo, too. "Great" update: When we ran in yesterday afternoon, she was fine!!!! She knew who the kids were and told her lady friends at the dinner table who they were. She didn't have her glasses on but didn't seem to have a problem so I didn't worry about it. She misplaces them a lot. I think it's the first time in 4 that she knew who we were. FIL and MIL are on their way back - yay!!!! Hope everyone has a great day!!
  5. Hi Wink~ We are getting ready to head out the door for round two, which will be check on DH's grandma again, run to DH's office, and then taekwondo. It's sunny, windy and cool today. The kids and I ran to check on "Great" this morning to find her still in bed at 10 and had no idea who we were. (The assisted living facility called DH yesterday to let him know she fell by her bed but was alright). I told grandma who I was and had to finally say your son's daughter-in-law and she still wasn't getting it. I ran down to talk to the staff and they said when she is cold they turn up her heat and cover her until she is warm and then she gets out of bed. They also said she was more confused since the fall (dementia has been getting worse lately.) Went back to check on her (5 minutes) and she had no idea who the kids or I were. Called MIL to let know what is going on since they our out of state until the weekend. She had me tell FIL and he questioned if she hit her head. So going to check on her. Late - need to run!
  6. Happy birthday Zophiel! I hope you had a wonderful day! Hope all is well. We miss you
  7. Good afternoon, It is beautiful out. The sun is shining, the birds are singing and it's in the 60's. The big kids are playing in the yard and the baby is napping on my shoulder as I sit on the deck. I remember Monday, Monday but not Ruby Tuesday, well the eatery. I took the kids with me to vote, we ran to dh's office for two stamps, dropped the mail in the post box and to the grocery store. We were suppose to get ribs as they were on sale. The packages were HUGE so I didn't get them. I finish the blanket for dd's barbies so on to the next projects. She promised she wouldn't take any more dish clothes, unless the blanket goes missing. Lol Hope everyone has a great day!
  8. Hi everyone~ We had the storms most of the night. They were bad enough that I was up most of the night. I'm ready to take my contacts out and go to bed, unfortunately none of the kids are ready to go to bed and they still need baths. We have standing water everywhere in the fields but haven't noticed the sub-pump running. The kids and I finally made it to Costco (they had what I needed from Sam's) and to Walmart. So minus running to the local grocery store to pick up ribs that our on sale, I think we are good for two weeks. DD didn't go to taekwondo today. She smashed her hand between the grill and her bike handle when she was coming into the garage and then she put her arm in the deep freeze as DS1 was closing it. So I gave her a day off. DS2 was in the path when I was putting my sewing machine away. The foot pedal fell and he "caught" it with his forehead. He has a goose egg with a bruise. I finally tried to fix DD's uniform pants for taekwondo . I had her put them on find out the waist was still to tight but it doesn't matter because she has grown and they look like waders. So, one project is done and I'm trying to make a quick blanket for her barbies with the extra yarn from my first class so she'll stop taking my dish rags. Don't forget to vote tomorrow! Have a great night.
  9. It must have been a beautiful thing to see this morning. It's sad the preschool is closing. It's ashame there isn't a SAHM that is a licensed teacher that is interested. It's been a crazy two days. Yesterday, our neice, almost 3, came and played with the kids while her mom and dad (dh's brother) went to dinner. Four kids fed, cleaned and exhaused. Neice fell asleep10 minutes into their drive home. I managed to clean most of the house and plant another bed of potatoes. Today was a day of recovering from four kids running around and rain and storms on and off. I did manage to get some green beans in today. I used soil left from the bed dh moved and filled the kids pots. I let both of the older kids pick what they wanted to plant, they both picked beans. So they are each respoonsible for their own plant. And they can learn how they grow and how to care for them. I managed to order the stuff I need for ds1's birthday party and have % off at both places. We are going to get some groceries in the morning after we check on great (dh's grandma). We checked on her on Friday to make sure she was soing alright and fill her medicine boxes. She didn't know who I was and asked if I lived at the assisted living facility. Her dementia is getting worse. Dd starts three days a week taekwondo tomorrow. Ds will be signed up fot t-ball, too, this week.
  10. Oh wink! I don't think I can survive 26 years and 17 days more of my little stinker. He was sitting on my lap when I read your post and I just laughed. Happy Birthday Josh! It's sunny and warm out. I ran a bag of trash to the curb this morning and grabbed the newspaper and was amazed at God's wonders. We were wearing jackets and jeans earlier this week, yesterday the kids wore their short pajamas and flip flops to school for pajama day and I had to turn the air on to take some of the humidity and heat out of the upper level of the house so everyone could sleep and I didn't have to worry about DS1's allergies and asthma. It's amazing what a change a day can make. I have onions from seeds finally coming up and a few more potatoes. I started cleaning out DD's closet this morning and putting away her long sleeve shirts and leggings. I was sad to see a few cute outfits are a size to small now but I packed them up for her friend for the fall so they will get more use. I;ll have to start inventorying all three kids for clothes and shoes for fall/winter pretty quick. DD should be alright minus shoes/boots but I want to double check. DS1 looks like he is on the verge of a growth spurt but I've picked up some things for him. DS2 will have hand me downs so he should be set, too. Today is my normal big grocery day (Sam's and Costco) but my in-laws are on vacation and DH is swamped so payroll hasn't been run. It looks like I'll be going Saturday, instead of making grape jelly, since tomorrow is my last beginning knitting course (cable and lace). I'll start the project class next Friday and then decide the next step, either another knitting class or start the quilting class. I might wait for the next quilting class so I can focus on the knitting a little more and improve my skills. So, the goal is to get a few things done in the house this morning and then head outside to get a few things done early. Our recycle truck came through this morning (twice a month) I notice this time and the last one that instead of the truck with the separate sections for glass, plastic, paper, etc, it's been a trash truck with recycle painted on it. It struck me as odd that we are separating everything and they are all of the sudden just throwing it all in the same place. Maybe I'll pull some of the newspapers and use them in the raised beds. I don't know if I like the idea with the ink on the pages but if they aren't recycling it then my garden can always benefit. Have a great day!
  11. Thanks windmom! I'll have to take a look at it, just not sure it will help with the kid being so young.
  12. I hope you both have a wonderful day!
  13. Have a wonderful day!
  14. I'll post mine in the morning. Silly phone....
  15. No thanks necessary, wink. The kids had pajama day at school so they had a fun day. They have just over a week off and then two weeks to til summer break. Yay! We will be doing field trips with a couple of other families, with boys-yay for DS. We are taking a trip to Amish Acres, it's time to show the kids the Amish way of life. I made two loaves of bread yesterday and did some quick weeding today. We have flowers on the strawberry plants, lettuce, swiss chard, potatoes and onions sprouting. It's past bedtime so good night.
  16. I am so thrilled things went well today! I'm sending you hugs! Happy writing! Using the phone so everything is short and to the point. :-(
  17. I'm typing from my phone since I'm not home and hate it but need some quick help. DH mixed soil from two raised beds into a new one. One had carrots and one had potatoes last year. So the question, should I not plant either of those in that bed or is it alright because the difference in soil balance out?
  18. Good morning~ It's overcast but already 56 out on the way to of a high in the lower 70's. :woohoo:The sun is starting to show as I type. Maybe I can get a few more things in the garden today as we have rain schedule through Friday or Saturday now. It's been a busy morning,& and dishes so far. There is a loaf of cinnamon (with a few raisins) bread in the bread machine and the loaf of oatmeal bread I made yesterday is about halfway gone so I'll make another loaf in a little while. I tried to find the owners manual for my bread machine on-line but couldn't find it. Lots of people looking for it, though . I pulled a beef roast and potatoes for dinner so I'll be putting that in the crock pot shortly. I told DH I wasn't buying bread anymore that I would be making it. He suggested we pick up a grain mill and see where we can buy wheat in bulk. We are going to run to Walmart for DD to buy a nightgown with her own $$, go check on DH grandmother while his parents are out of town. I'll check her med box while there, it shouldn't need filled yet but want to double check. DD has TaeKWondo this afternoon, last class before testing on Thursday. I need to go sign her up for classes at the studio and sign up DS1 (maybe DD, too) for t-ball this week. Have a great one!
  19. Have a wonderful day Midnightmom!!!
  20. Good morning~ I was up with you this morning Wink and agree, it's just too early. The kids teacher is ill so school was cancelled so I think we are going to clean and look for the missing sippy cups<_< and running to the store. The rain blew in last night and it was on and off with some still this morning. It's suppose to be in the upper 60's with a chance of rain so I'll take the kids out in between showers so they can just in puddles and play and I can spread some coffee grinds in a bed and maybe try and get a bed of potatoes in. DD is in her princess dress playing so it might be a little work to get her in real clothes to go outside. DH moved dirt from two beds into one of the new ones with the help of the kids and I managed to weed beds and around the asparagus (and am guessing I can plant two pots of parsley in-between two of them. I finished up a row of lettuce and two of carrots in one bed before the first drops of rain started yesterday, too. Have a great day!
  21. Good morning Wink and everyone who follows~ It's sunny but windy again this morning. We have rain and severe storms coming in this week. We need the rain, too but I always hate having to take the kids in it because they like to jump in the puddles. Kids being kids. It's a quiet day here. I need to run to the store to pick up a few things (DS1's pull-ups for bed have disappeared) and I need a few tomatoes. I'm going to make pizza tonight, it's normally homemade pizza Saturdays but since we were bowling last night I moved it to today. But I'm going to try and make a taco pizza. I think the tomatoes are the only thing I need for it, unless I grab a bag of mexican cheese (one recipe calls for it and one doesn't). I need to look for a pattern for a sundress for DD. Maybe I'll try and get into the garden to clean the one bed out again, check on what is in, and put coffee grinds in one. I'm thinking I might try and put peas in and use the green fencing we had around the blueberries bushes to see if it will hold. Oh, and evict the kids from the one they are currently using for a construction area. I just saw the kids little people zebras and it reminded I hadn't posted this. On Friday I was going up to my knitting course and I passed a farm that had horse, a llama and two zebras! The llama didn't phase me because we have a lot of farms that have llamas and alpacas but never zebras. I've been seeing more donkeys in the fields, too. Have a wonderful day!
  22. We had a bowling birthday party today for one of the kids friends. They had a great time bowling but LOVED the arcade. DS1 is asking to change his party to a bowling party. We just finished planning so I told him we could go as a family and he could bring someone. I spent two hours on pintetest this morning going through sites from everyone here. I found great ideas from everyone here and I still haven't finished going thru things (lol). It rained last night and was cool today. I think our high was 50 and there was frost when I got up. Have a great night.
  23. Thanks! CGA~ I told my mom the same thing about the white rice being sticky, too.
