  1. Amen to that Sister Cat!!!! Stories, stories, stories! Please!!!! mommafitz
  2. WiccadStargazer, it sure is nice to see you post again. So many people here that don't get time to drop in for a visit. *sigh* (My employer rewards employees children for making the honor roll. The student gets $25 and their teacher gets $25 for their classroom. That is great! These teachers have to use so much money from their own pockets it's pitiful! It's been pouring the rain all night and it's raining pretty hard right now.(it's 6:30am on Thursday.) My day will be the usual-laundry and dishes in beween doing some office work. Hubby has court all day so who knows when he'll be home this afternoon. How's everyone else? Have a swimming day, mommafitz
  3. Then how about middle Tn? What should we expect this winter? Inquiring minds want to know....snicker.... mommafitz
  4. Mornin' ya'll! Yep, it's a bit soggy here on the mountain. I forgot to get my clothes off the line last night so all their all wet again. We didn't get home until late from DS football scrimmage and it was already dark. I'm not sure how this football thing is gonna go. We put up with the yelling and disrespectful attitudes from coaches for 3 years at the high school while older son played football. I didn't realize elem. football coaches (who are dealing with 11-14 year olds) behaved the same way. DS wasn't too happy last night. He did play a lot. That's not a complaint I have. The coaches forget to build these kids up with some positive words. Sometimes adults can be so stupid. He isn't one to run and tell mama and daddy if something is wrong. I left work half and hour early so I could see how things were going. Hmmph. On the other hand, he enjoyed his school day. He thinks things will be easy. I hope not too easy!
  5. Cat, glad to hear your DD did well. Here's to hoping she has a speeding and PAINLESS recovery!!!!! mommafitz
  6. Mornin' Dee! It's been a pleasant 68-70 degrees here this morning. After I took younger DS to school this morning(it's the first full day), I came home and did a few things. I loaded the garbage in the pick up truck cuz older DS left a message on the dry erase board that he killed a possum last night. Hmm....I didn't hear a thing! Today will be a long day for him. They stay after school (I had to pack a pb and jelly with corn chips to eat then) and the scrimmage doesn't start until 5:30. It lasts until approx. 7:30. Yep, He'll be pooped. Now I need to get busy with my paying job. I'm hoping to get more hours logged now that I'm on a stricter schedule. Ladies and Gents, I hope everyone has a lovely day, mommafitz
  7. I haven't been able to post much lately cuz I've been busy. Our cucumbers are finally slowing down. The tomatoes are coming on strong but they sure aren't very big. I don't know what happened. Everybody else that I've missed, I'm sorry. Please take care and I'll keep everyone in my thoughts and prayers today........... mommafitz

  9. Wow!! I understand also............ mommafitz
  10. Mornin' ya'll! Yep, I've noticed just in the last few days the days getting shorter. Hey.dawn, did you take care of those cabbages yet? I hope everyone has a good day. If you are in the line of storms, please be careful!!!!! mommafitz
  11. Homecanned green beans are NOTHING like the nasty store bought canned things!! They are so yummy!!!! I'm waiting on my connection at work to get me a bushel of green beans. The Mennonites have canning tomatoes but I haven't had the time nor the money to stop by and pick any up. I don't know how much those will cost. Also, I don't think I have enough quart jars to do both. I plan on getting another box this week. QUESTION: Which do you prefer....wide mouth canning jars or regular? I used a wide mouth for the first time recently and I sure can squish the veggies in there easier. Our grapes have just started ripening so I hope to make some juice or jelly with those. Now.....just to find the time to do this............ mommafitz
  12. A ha!!! I finally got up early enough to be the first post today! mommafitz
  13. Good mornin'! It's gorgeous outside this morning. I have some tshirts hanging outside on the line. It's supposed to be in the uppr 80's with humidity returning today. I'm gonna hang another load of clothes outside, I think. We found DS a pair of cleats and a mouthpiece yesterday. I was a little concerned that we wouldn't be able to find any shoes. Whew......glad that's done. He starts football practice today with helmets and shoulder pads. They're gonna be hot! ) She didn't bother to go into details so I have no idea what it is nor when it will start.I really hope I can get a job that's 8-5 Monday thru Friday. It would be nice to have my evenings off and Saturdays off. I'm still considered part time but I usually get 38 hours or so per week. Hopefully, I could go full time. Oh well. Keep me in your prayers to at least be happy with whatever comes up. I have been trying to keep up with the national news because we are living in interesting times (got preps?) and I'm going to do some reading before getting busy with work. Have a lovely day, mommafitz
  14. That is definitely good to hear!!!!! mommafitz
  15. How do ya'll! I'm checking in. mommafitz
  16. Mornin' ya'll! I hope everyone has a lovely and productive day!!!!! mommafitz
  17. Nana, I am sooooo sorry. Lisa
  18. Stoopid question here.........we moved into this house in the spring. We have a couple of window unit air conditioners. We don't run them all the time. Then again, our summer hasn't been as hot as usual either, I don't think. Anyway, we are surrounded by trees with glorious shade and I'm thinking that is really keeping us cool here. Now.here's what I'm wondering.........do you think the trees will help during the winter? Or will they hurt by blocking out sun? I'm just curious cuz I've been thinking about the winter. I'm not sure if this house will be warm or cold. mommafitz
  19. Good morning Miss B! Yes you are definitely up early today! I'm not sure our weather forecast for today. It's drizzling now. DS football practice went well yesterday. From what hubby and older DS told me, he fit right in and there were 3 kids he knew. I'm expecing this to help with the transition back into public school. We have to buy cleats before next Monday. He starts daily practice next week. I know he is looking forward to going to school. He isn't arguing about bedtimes or anything. We have to start now with setting a "School" bedtime so he can get used to it again. (I'm trying the same thing.) He was in a chipper mood last night when he and his brother picked me up from work. Older son doesn't start college until after Labor day. I hope everyone has a lovely day, mommafitz
  20. Snowmom, I spoil my pets too. If Prince wants people food, then give it to him! I don't see us using it in the am's much --if ever! Afternoon drop offs will be around 4pm. That's not as bad but school is out a 2:45. Makes for a long day, huh? I'm trying to figure out how to get him to todays football practice. Hopefully, older DS will handle it. Have a good day!! mommafitz
  21. Mornin'! Just thought I'd post to get us started for the day. We got a lot done in DS room yesterday. We didn't get finished but we don't have that much left to do. I did get all his bedclothes washed-even his pillows! He was a real trooper with trying on his clothes. My boys have always hated trying on clothes. We have a full plate of things to do today. We had some doozy storms again yesterday. Rain and sorms are predicted for today. I don't like to do errands on rainy days....... Have a lovely day everyone, mommafitz
  22. It is great news!!! Thank you, Lord!!!! Lisa
  23. Since our son is returning to public school in a couple of weeks, our thoughts are in preparing for that. The stores in our town are starting their Back-To-School sales on paper, pencils, folders, etc. I was able to take advantage of these great sales last year. I still have a large quantity of unused items from last year. Today will be spent sorting and placing them on a bookshelf in our office/computer room. This way we will be able to see what we have at a moments notice and not spend any money that we don't have to. I have agreed to splurge and spend a little extra on some special pencils but it looks like we're set for the school year. Even stocking up on school and office supplies is a good idea! mommafitz
  24. Hello! I hope everyone is having a good day so far. I'm the only one up at our house. I enjoy the peace and quiet as long as possible. )
