ndbeckner1
Yesterday I found 73% lean ground beef on sale for..... wait for it....90 cents a lb! I also got boneless skinless chicken breast for .99 lb. Anyway, I had no freezer space left for my ground beef, so I canned it. I got 20 pints of ground beef. I am amazed at how easy it was to can. I have to smile every time I look at the jars. I am seriously considering canning other meats as well. Who knows, I could do without my freezer. What a thought! Link to comment
Foxglove
What a great price, I wish I could find that in my neighbourhood. My prep plans for the new year are to get some meat canned; chicken and ground beef are what we use the most of. I also like the thought of having some pre-cooked meat so that if we are in an emergency situation I'm heating up more than cooking and that I can conserve my cooking fuel. Foxglove Link to comment

Leanna1017
That's terrific! I've been wondering about canning meat - so far I've only done water bath canning, jellies and such. Where on the web can I find the best info on canning meat? Link to comment
