It was mildly amusing to read the history of where they started..      typed sideways.  : )   But most of us remember those days.  ; )   We even remember leaning to TYPE on a TYPEWRITER!  And then there was the zoooooooom-fast electric typewriters!!!   : o

 

So anyway, my opinion on "smilies" is known.  I always use them.  I think it conveys our intent/emotion when just a sentence  could be taken in a couple different ways.  I'm all about "clarity"!!!

Emojis are a good thing. Though I don't know what all of them stand for. Guess I am just not into the computer thing as much. I really don't keep up with a lot of things like that. But I do use them sometimes.

I am a great fan of emojis too
