  1. I woke up tp about 2 inches of that fluffy white stuff. It is warming up to about 40 degrees so it won't last long, but the radio was full of highway misthaps, jack-knifed semi's and the like. DH is off for a weekend of hunting, DS will join him at camp tonight after work. Have a good one.
  2. This is the first time I have heard of it, so I looked it up. Pronounced "Roy Boss" Rooibos contains Aspalathin, a flavonoid found in medicinal herbs that are used to treat skin disorders and circulatory disorders. Flavanoids found in Rooibos may also have anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic properties. Japanese research on Oligosaccharides found in Rooibos concludes that these compounds may aid one’s immune system to fight viral infections ( i.e HIV ) You can read about it here: http://www.africantea.com/index.html
  3. Hope everything goes smoothly.

  7. He knows when we need a lift, and who needs to benefit from it. You have done more with your "silly little points" than you imagined. Bless you.
  8. This is the first year in over 35 years that I won't be hosting Thanksgiving dinner, I suggested that it was time for my Chlidren to start their own family tradidtions, it is just more than I can handle now. Last year they brought everything except the chicken and dressing and the pies, but it was tough for them. To be honest I am looking forward to a nice quiet dinner for just the 2 of us. DH likes to hunt in the morning and we will eat later and rest. The kids are always here for Christmas eve and that involves a buffet and a lot of laughter and just enjoying the little ones. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving
  9. When my children grew up and left home, DH was still gone all week, only home on weekends, I took and home study course in multi media, and a couple of years later I joined this group. You all have kept me learning and researching and helped me keep my sanity in an other wise crazy world. Thank you all.
  10. The TarnX dip is the easiest! I believe it can be purchased at your grocers.
  11. Kind of a quiet day here. Got to help with supper, DH is cooking, again. So I do the prep and set the table etc. got some laundry washed folded and put away, thought about cleaning the rug but that didn't get done today. Got my grocery list done and visited with DD for a while. Have a good one

to our family. I don't know about you, but I am about starved, DH is cooking beef and gravy with thyme and it smells so good...... want some? We are having it with noodles, a toss salad, and corn, with homemade bread.
  14. The envelope method works well for things like a Christmas fund and misc. for unexpected expences just set aside 3 to 15 dollars weekly and when the furnace goes out, or the car needs a new exhaust you have something to absorb the extra expence. I also have a fund fo auto upkeep, but occaisionly it costs more than I have allowed. That's when the misc fund helps.
  15. My DD has used the dry ingredients mixed and spooned about 2 tablespoons into a cup of very hot water to desolve and poured into washer, solved the problem of jugs, and requires less storage room.
  16. He should write his experiences as a police officer...
  17. Lucifer's Hammer. There are a lot of books that I liked well enough to read more than once like the Earth Children series.
  18. one way is to buy either the castile or glycerine bar soap and grate it.
  19. "Does money motivate women differently than men?" Work envirionment is important to me, pay according to honest work evaluation is important, also benefits that include ability to have a day off even without pay for important family functions. Would you be more likely to leave one job for another because it paid more. Only if it were closer and the other criteria were met. Would a raise motivate you to work harder/longer/better(quality)? I have always believed that when you accept a job you have agreed to do your best. If you later feel that the pay does not match you output you take it to your boss if agreement cannot be met, find another job. Is money a long term or a short term motivator? When I worked outside my home, it was because We needed the money, so the money is the main motivater followed by satisfaction in a job well done.. gender- female
