  1. Happy Birthday....hope you have a really good one!
  2. Thanks so much! My challenge is lunch at home. It's actually MY fault b/c I've allowed my children to GRAZE. Neither of them like sandwiches much. Husband's lunch consists of sandwiches b/c they have no microwave at work. I'm going to start working on my plan tomorrow with your template.
  3. Hope you both have a SUPERFANTASTIC day!!!
  4. Does anyone plan meals in advance? I have never really done this. I buy then "shop" from my pantry and frig. I can't really do that now. I NEED to plan two weeks of meals b/c husband gets paid every two weeks. I'd love some guidance. I have about 4 bags of chicken in my freezer right now and there are about 8 pieces per bag. I usually cook 6.....so figuring about 4 meals here.. I have 3 1b rolls of HB, 1 pork roast and 1 pack of cubed steak plus some turkey bacon That should give me about 10 meals right off. I've been pinning recipes on pinterest and gotten some really good ones. Seems I'm cooking chicken ALOT b/c roast and beef are sooo expensive. I'm telling you when and if I hit a sale on roast or HB I'm stocking up!! I would love some ideas for chicken....I'd love some ideas and tips on how you set up your plans... Maybe we could share our meal plans/recipes and help each other out
  5. Back home I could use coupons and get double coupons and there were plenty of generics to choose from, but down here there are no double coupons. I used to get generic packs of ranch and italian dressing mixes but here it's name brand and high!! I'm trying the Ranch mix and I'm looking for Italian Mix. I've been using these alot in different dishes I found on pinterest.
  6. Hope you are feeling better!
  7. I just finished Shattered from the Deep Winter Series. Started Until We Reach Home by Lynn Austin last night.....very good!
  8. Oh my word!!! That is just a horrible situation for you to be in. I can not even imagine having to deal with that. I have no words of wisdom other than try to get some rest. I would imagine you are mentally and emotionally drained from the whole ordeal. I'll be praying for you....hang in there.
  9. Oh SueC that just sounds DIVINE!!!! So proud for ya'll!!!
  10. Hope you have a SUPERFANTASTIC day!
  11. Amber...that is what I had thought about doing but I overslept this am and they delivered before I could cancel. DH LOVED the couch which is bizarre b/c he never gets real excited about stuff like that....guns, hunting stuff...yes but not housewares. So Im guessing we will keep. It is very comfortable and it's a sectional. Guessing I won't have a hard time getting DS to give up bed for company b/c he has been laying on it a good bit today.
  12. FINALLY!!....Im able to get on here!!! The move....OMG is all I can say!!! My Mom almost made me drag out my straightjacket and I haven't even finished blinging it out!!! I mean good grief....but I tried to remember that she was probably having a difficult time dealing with us moving. I didn't get enough done, she didn't think they were packing the truck right, we weren't leaving at a good time....on and on. We got down here and the rain held off until we got unloaded and Mom chilled.....thankfully. We were exhausted to say the least. She stayed the night and helped me get my kitchen done. Had a solid week of NO TV and NO INTERNET. Kids absolutely binging off the walls....again if I could've FOUND the straight jacket blinged or not....almost needed. We got satellite and TV this past weekend, but I was so busy trying to finish up and deal with a Fibro flare didn't get on much. PLUS my inlaws came down today. They live in Myrtle Beach but come to MS for the summer every year so they drove down here. Had an issue with our beagle. He wouldn't stop barking!!! He also couldn't figure out that he could not walk nor run through a glass sliding door no matter how many times he banged his head. 2:40 am and I'm outside trying to settle him. Neighbors behind us also up outside smoking and cussing about the dog. Mind you they created a "fish" pond out of their swimming pool and the frogs are louder. We finally let him in before he got brain damage and the dufus tore up everything that was on a surface that he could reach. My couch is ruined. I decided to try to clean my couch so I wouldn't have to try to find another. Not a wise decision on my part. Have you ever seen the I Love Lucy episode where they are stomping grapes? Well that was me trying to stomp the naked sponge like cushion into a tub. OMG....I have never. I try to step out of the tub and missed the rug and slipped and fell...just what my body needed. I have had the cushions in the sun flipping them and stomping on them everyday for 3 days. I thought they were dry today, put them back in covers and put on couch. Had myself a sit down and kept smelling an awful smell. Looked down and water was pouring from under the couch and my bottom was wet. I also had only 2 hours until inlaws arrived. The ONLY thing I could do is look at the rent a center place which I've never looked at. I was able to BUY a sofa there and they guaranteed me they would have it here. They didn't.....we had nowhere to sit and visit. I'm not happy. Told DH that I was going to cancel it and work on the old sofa some more but he said that thing has stunk up the whole garage and would NOT come back into this house. Personally, I'd like to set it on fire. I finally broke down and took Tank the beagle to the Humane Society. They wouldn't take him unless I picked him up on the side of the road. They give me the number to another place. I call them and they said they would take him but wouldn't guarantee that he would live another 24 hours with them!!! So back to the house I go with this dog barking non-stop. By this time we both needed sedation. Listed him on Craigs List and found him a home only for them to call us back an hour later to come get him b/c their landlord said he was too big. Humane Society said they would take him yesterday. When I came in toting dog house, food, crate and dragging him and a very mad little girl across the room the man said "Now you KNOW that there is...." I cut him off and told him not to say another word. I knew that this precious dog would find a home and I did not want to hear another word from him! Oh how I pray he does. So thats our move in a nutshell. Now I see there is a storm a brewin in the Gulf. Haven't checked on it. My Mom has googled that and evac routes and sent to me. I guess I need to take a look but I can tell you now...I aint goin nowhere!
  13. Hope ya'll have a FABULOUS time. I agree with Mother....delegate!!
  14. Husband started work on Monday. We went down Sunday to get utilities set up and do a walk through. Do you know what I realized?? NO PANTRY!!!! OMG...I love the house but I have a pantry fetish. It does have a linen closet, which is a huge plus so I'm hoping I can use that for storage. At any rate....haven't been around b/c I'm handling this move solo. They said they'd pay for the move BUT they also said that they'd cut us a check for $1500 and no receipts or questions would be asked so we decided to go with that option and try to pocket some money. That leaves me to do all the packing, organizing and arranging alone. Have I mentioned I hate moving? I HATE MOVING. Got the truck reserved and we will be pulling out this Saturday. I'm paying my cousin and his wife to help us and my mom is coming along to help. So maybe it won't be too bad if I can get it all packed up and ready. Please say prayers...I feel a FMS flare coming.
  15. Just reading this...Praying....any news on a decision?
  16. After tons of research and sleepless nights we went down towards Belle Chasse, LA to see what we could find. The only options we found were in Slidell. I had a list of about 10 properties to see with one of them being for rent by owner (it was the top of my list). It's amazing how God works....each and every property on the list ELMINATED ITSELF by either being under contract, located near sex offenders or in a bad area. The only house we actually looked at was the one at the top of my list. This house is so beautiful....I still can't believe we will be making it ours. It certainly fits into my dream house category. Two closets in each of the kids rooms with built in desks, stained concrete floors, fireplace, deck off the back that stretches across the back, wrought iron fence, two car electric garage, skylights in the house, attic for storage, and tons of landscaped and built up flower beds in the front and back yards. No idea what to do with the landscaping.....I'm not very well versed in doing it and my Mom wont' be there to help But I plan to learn!! We are soo excited. I'm ready to go NOW!!
