  1. Now I finally know what you were talking about in your other post! If I ate cereal I would probably have gone back a few times also.
  2. Hello there Deb. Wishing it was a good day for you and whoever you spent it with.
  3. I am surprised o hear that she (the Amish lady) doesn't allow her hens to forage for bugs! Or does she???
  4. Most of the drive-up ATMs at the banks here are also like that. They are more suitable for someone driving a truck or an SUV so I avoid them like the plague! My bank still has a person at one of the drive-thru lanes so that is what I use. If they ever eliminate that convenience I think I would seriously consider moving my account to another bank!!! (Not really. All of the other banks only have ATM machines. )
  5. I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis; so basically a slow (hypo) thyroid too. I also try to avoid soy as much as possible. "We are what we eat," and I think that also applies to the critters we consume and what THEY eat. I have no idea whether any soy remains in an egg when layed, but it is something to think about and consider, so I posted it here. I forgot about the other stories, but, if they reveal something to you about the author of the content, then take that into consideration too. Like I said, this was a random video which appeared in my feed. I only clicked on it because of the egg question. YMMV
  6. I was watching a random YT vid and this point came up in the dialog. I am going just going to paste the dialog copied from the transcript for your consideration and for having a discussion here. (Please note the transcription does not include punctuation, but I think you can figure it out. I will also include a link time-stamped to the part of the video that this is copied from.
  7. I saw a very similar meme online yesterday. Only difference was the angle it was taken from.
  8. Hope it is a good day spent with loved ones.
  9. Do you have a favorite performanc/version of "The Little Drummer Boy???" I discovered this one last year (or maybe the year before) and I absolutley love it! It is best enjoyed while watching the video, but it is absolutely enjoyable to just listen to the audio while you tool around the house. "Little Drummer Boy" (Official Music Video) | GENTRI
  10. What is your favorite Christmas song (secular or religious)? Or, perhaps you know of a "novelty" song that you think we might not be familiar with but would enjoy. Post away. (Links to performances are highly encouraged - IF possible)
  11. Thank you for the information about the real reason the Arizona went down. And I thank your father for his service and his bravery. And thank youruncle for his service also.
  12. I think the "free viewing" should be limited to the "Sunporch," the "Humor" forum, and the "Kitchen/Recipes/Preserving" forum. Most posting in those threads don't reveal a lot of personal info. With that in mind, perhaps it would no longer be a good idea to share pictures of your preps, pantry, etc in the Kitchen/etc threads and save those types of posts for the "Are You Really Ready?" forum. (I didn't know the site was publicly visible as I always log in by habit.)
  13. Got mine out in the mail today! Looks like everybody should have all of their ornaments by the middle of next week.
  14. Put on your thinking cap for this one. I'll bet there are some age groups that would take this reply literally and start pulling books off of the shelf to find that "hidden door," not realizing that if they would just open the book they would find it!
  15. Got mine from @Becca_Anne and from her friend, Sue. Mine are completed and will be in the mail by the weekend. I can't wait to see everyone's ornaments and read the comments.
  16. If you are, have you ever come across this intersection??? How many times did you have to drive through it before you were able to successfully navigate it and wind up on the correct highway headed in the right direction???
  17. @Snowmom I got yours on Tues (I belive). Mine will be going out at the beginning of Dec (after payday).
  18. This came up in my FB feed, but I have no idea about who she is, etc. Just thought I would share it in case anyone here wanted to check it out. The Lost Book of Herbal Remedies https://www.thelostremedies.com/black-friday-sale/
  19. I was just quoting Leisa. But I think you are correct. $49.99 - 30% = $49.99 - $14.99 = $34.99 -10% = $34.99 - $3.49 = $31.49 BUT $49.99 - 40% = $49.99 - $19.99 = $29.99 However, since the total is below the $50 needed for free shipping, you may wind up having to pay that.
  20. Info posted by Leisa at Sutton's Daze Forjars is having a Black Friday Sale and this is one you won't want to miss. Black Friday Sale starting the 24th 6pm till the end of the 28th. There will be 30% off all products except the bundles as they are already heavily discounted 30% off and when you add my code SUTTONS10 you get an additional 10% off. That's 40% off of your purchase!! Stock up friends! This is an amazing sale!! https://forjars.shop/
  21. This tool does that for you! https://a.co/d/9i7CPG7
  22. My "garden" never did anything but drink water! I might have been a bit more upset at that if the cost of the water wasn't covered by my rent (apt complex). Finally pulled up all of the summer crops and replaced them with a fall "crop" that is guaranteed to not fail. (Unless a strong wind knocks the pots over, that is.)
  23. @euphrasyne I found this recipe a while back. Any comments???
  24. About the ForJars lids. I just watched one of Lisa's videos and got reminded that you can use the code SUTTONS10 and save 10% on your order. Perhaps this will make a difference in giving them a try.
  25. Having been in the freezer may have "damaged" the sealant part of the lid. You can try to contact Ball or Kerr or whoever you got the lids from to be sure, but in the meantime I wouldn't use them for canning.
