  1. Spinning off from the what are you canning/dehydrating threads..... I put a batch of HM yoghurt in the fridge this morning that I made last night. I also have Amish Friendship bread & water kefir going on my counter top now.
  2. I've been reading on a couple of forums about using a hot plate for canning (here & frugal's). What brand(s) do you recommend? I would like to do a summer kitchen, but we don't have the space or the money to do a full sized shed. Since we're living in WY now, we also have a home with no air conditioning (not that I'm complaining, I just don't want to heat up the house come canning time!!).
  3. My first though is transplant shock. Do you know if they were hardened off? If not could be sunburn. have you kept the soil (and hence the roots) very wet so that they root well?
  4. I love Miller soap. I began reading that months ago & it's the site I think I'll use when I'm ready. I also just found this site which includes the history of soap making. I thought it was neat!

  11. In vac sealed baggies, between the planter & the water saucer Inside old dubbed VHS cases, even inside an emptied out tape Under a lamp, you know the felt ones? Remove the felt, place $$ & reglue or attach felt Under a small aquarium (any aquarium actually) In doll clothing, a teddy bear's hat, etc.

  16. Were your restrictions inclusive of food gardens? Here we had an all out ban EXCEPT new landscape & food gardens.

  20. I've used my dehydrator before. I stuck it on the top rack.
  21. BTW, I self photographed this, except the ones where both of my hands are in the dough, so please excuse the poor pic quality
  22. 30- I had to throw my pastry brush away last time I made these & just haven't gotten around to replacing it yet. So I spooned my melted margarine over the unbaked rolls. 31- The rolls after being drowned in margarine (YUM!). I baked mine for about 12 minutes. 32- Mmmmmm.....
