  1. This is such a good story. Coulda have been NASTY, but it's not!!! Praise God he's ok!!! Stay safe!
  2. You don't even have to find a "plow guy." Find a kid. They love doing stuff like this for a little cash. If you have a college anywhere near, that might be worth looking into as well for someone. Then tell that cow WHY!
  3. We were told by our co-op company that the reason butter is going up is because of the drought in Cali. :/
  4. Thanks, Canned Nerd! I love the serves one recipes! These will be PERFECT! Keep'em coming if you have them!!! :sSig_thankyou:
  5. Oh my goodness!! Love it, it is sooo cute!!!
  6. OK, ladies & others, my oldest is about to move out on his own. I need your best, tasty, EASY recipes to print for him. I'm looking for recipes using WHOLE foods & REAL food ingredients. They need to be easy, affordable & fairly quick to make, extra brownie points for freezer friendly, too. Please, please. Hit me with links, ladies & others. Ease this momma's heart by helping me do things for him. I'm thinking college/bachelor type stuff. He'll have a crockpot, too. He's getting bunch of stuff for Christmas, including a recipe binder.
  7. With all the excitement of promotion & move, I didn't even realize how late in the year it was!! I finally nailed down what I wanted to make this last weekend. Went out & got the trimmings for it & it's a BIG. FAT. FAIL. So I luckily had bought something to use to make for my own family, & I'll be using those for an alternate ornament. It's nowhere near as creative, but I do think they're turning out lovely & K is so happy he can help. The originals were a bit labour intensive & tedious for him to help with. I should have them out Fri or Mon. I know Mon is a couple days late, but I think they'll still get where they need to go in time! I'm so excited!
  8. 5 pts of cilantro salsa. I also cooked & sauced the rest of the apples. Tomorrow, they get jarred! Can I just say I LOVE my $5 Squeezo!!!
  9. Mmmmm, ham anything! LOL Yesterday, I did 8 pts applesauce. Today, I'm working the maters from the freezer & the rest of the apples.
  10. AW! Is he feeling better?
  11. Also, when you KNOW folks have cancer & are in treatment, even a cold can be deadly!! (referring to the same family ^^)
  12. We have one particular family in hub's family that I have actually had to demand they stay home with their extremely ill children & NOT come to my kids' bday parties. More. Than. Once. They are always traipsing around with their strep, conjunctivitis, "colds", flu, etc in tow!!! I DON'T GET IT! Especially when they like to SHARE this crap with the ELDERLY folks in the family!!! We visited MIL this last weekend. Hubba had what we THOUGHT was a sinus infection or something not contagious (because the rest of us weren't sick). I had him call him mom before we went down. Said if she said "Yes, come visit" then got sick, it wasn't on us. Colds are one thing. Everything else? Have same dang respect! People only care about themselves & their instant, "immortal" gratification!!!
  13. I blogged about this 4 years ago http://onetenthacre.blogspot.com/2010/08/miracle-on-110th.html
  14. Yes, 2 chicks from one egg. It is so very rare, because most chicks cannot live to hatch in the same shell. Somehow, we are blessed with GOOD anomalies!
  15. That's why I brought that up, LOL! It's a great tool if you want JUST meat. I would just add in the cost of cough & cold meds to the serving for bnls breasts ROFL!!!
  16. The only problem I have with that is they're not taking stock into consideration. Bone broth is such an amazing boone to one's health, that all bones from a whole chicken or from bone-in cuts are used. So then, we have servings of broth eggs, soups, meatless meals by cooking rice in broth, etc.
  17. Always found in the same spot Rare, but I've read about this, too. I'm also the same person that had a broody chicken hatch LIVE twins once!! 2 of my chicken layers from this batch started laying at 16 weeks to.the.day. My ducks laid a few weeks earlier than anticipated. Apparently, I raise happy hens & they tend to go above & beyond expectations.
  18. We have a trio, & they are definitely little birds. But we get 1-4 eggs PER DAY out of TWO hens!!! Usually 2, but yeah, we've gotten 3-4 a FEW times. I didn't think that was possible!!!
