Morning snowmom: Sounds like you are keeping busy.... I just wanted to post quickly, for I do not have much time to stay on today. PLEASE ANYONE (DARLENE) GET OUT OF FLORIDA NOW, PLEASE EVERYONE START MAKING PREPARATIONS TODAY FOR HURRICANE IVAN. THIS STORM IS VERY DANGEROUS...Key West Florida is already starting evacuations,even though Ivan is not supposed to be in until MOnday. I am making preparations now, we have 30 people coming up within the next couple of days to evacuate from Ivan, DH and I have been on the phone all day looking for Generators, and motel rooms for family members in Florida. I have booked 4 suites so far and have arranged to borrow a cousins travel trailer, one of the big RV's with fold out sides. They all refuse to even think of trying to stay put during this hurricane... I am doing some cleaning, and fixing up places for everyone to sleep, have got to get to the store and do some heavy duty grocery shopping. So everyone take care and please be safe. I am praying for anyone in the path.

Morning ya'll, I guess it is turning out to be a pretty good day, still gloomy outside, but at least cool and rain has just about stopped. Did not get as bad as they predicted.. Received some good news this morning, we are having ex wife problems over a child support issue. It seems that no matter what we do, my dh cannot get a response from the Florida department of revenue child support enforcement division. I will not go into all the long details, But I took upon myself to email Jeb Bush (governor of Florida) with our situation, he actually responded, or had one of his representatives respond. That he has contacted the department and he has given the Department of Revenue child support enforcement office 14 days to respond to us, If we do not recieve a response within this time, I am to contact Mr. Bush once again....We have called and called this office , we have emailed, we have sent information by regular mail. This time I sent all the court documents and payment summaries, everything by certified mail. So hopefully we are fixing to get some very old problems lifted after all these years...theres no problem with paying the child support $300 a month, just a problem with the ex (who just so happens used to work for the child support enforcement agency)constantly wanting to cause us troubles and more money.......The kid in question is now 18. Dh is paying back child support, because he had gotten upset with the ex and stopped paying for a while, but has paid back $15,000.00 in two years(he was behind $26,000) He had gotten upset with the ex, because she had been in prison for 1 year and nine months for grand theft of $100,000.00 and did not have anyone contact dh,to let him know, so he could come take care of his son. she refuses to give us any information on the child, refuses to answer emails, will not give us a mailing address, she will not tell the child that his father has been trying for the past 3 years to contact him. It is a nasty situation,the mother doesn't realize that the only people she is hurting is herself and the boy. WE have gotten a message to the child through some of his classmates, and dh's aunt,who lives close by to the boy. Oh well we will see what will become of it all, in the next few weeks. This is a big step for us, to actually have gone to the Governor, to help us. Ok, I have rattled off enough, everybody have a good day, and keep an eye on the next incoming intruder(hurricane), stay prepared.......

Well our weather moved in around 5:30 am this morning, we have had heavy downpours all morning and winds gusting up to 40 mph. Already have water ponding on the roads, and it isn't even 11:00 am yet. Have heard emergency rescue vehicles going out all morning because of accidents. I went out at 5:30 am this morning to Walmart and did what grocery shopping I needed to do and got it out of the way, so I donot have to worry about going out again until the weekend....Am doing the never ending EVERY BODY HAVE A SAFE DAY....

Standifer Place is a very good place for her to be, they have had really good inspections and really treat their patients with the utmost respect. We tried to get my mother in there but was not able too, because of insurance restraints....

WE have actually had a beautiful day today, but sit in anticipation as to what is to come. Some very wicked weather from Frances. I am debating whether or not to send the kids to school. Hopefully the school superintendent here will have enough sense to cancel school for Tuesday and Wednesday. Did another small load , just finished cookin supper and getting all people and animals bellies full. So now time to clean up kitchen. May bake some cookies here in a little bit. Hope everyone is safe and having a nice Labor day weekend...

Good evening all, did not get in to check the site this morning,dh decided to play around with his nero cd burnern thingy on the computer, and screwed the whole thing up. Just got it backup, I have been going through withdrawal all day not being able to check the postings here and check NOAA on the progress of Frances. I have not turned the tv off of the weather channel all day. Spent the day being busy to keep my mind off of the computer. Did up all the laundry, went outside and took all of my garden statues and what nots and placed them in the garage, took all of my patio furniture in, then went out to the garage and brought in enough things that we would need to put in the refrigerator/freezer to get us through until this storms subsides. Filled water bottles to put in the freezer to form ice,to help keep everything cold in case of power outage for the upcoming bad weather. Went to store and got several loafs of bread and more milk and some Sunny D. and colas.... now we just have to sit and wait. They are expecting the remanants of hurricane Frances to move through our area by late Monday into Tuesday and Wednesday. AS of right now they are saying 5t inches or more rain expected, and possible tornadoes...... Well everyone take care and hope everyone is safe, will check in tomorrow, UNless DH plays with the computer again......

We have had so many new people join us over the past couple of weeks, that I am afraid that I may have missed welcoming some of you, so this is to you all,,,

I just looked outside and it was so weird, absolutely eeery,the sun came out for just a brief minute and the atmosphere was just totally like a pink color. (which is the sign of a hurricane), I have not seen this in years. I just sent chills all over me....

Well It is 8:20 am here, and looks as if it is still 6:00 am, we are supposed to have rain throughout most of day. I am going to dodge rain showers today, and get outside and put up all my flower pots and patio umbrella, and anything else that may prove to be a projectile. The path chart of Hurricane Frances has got the tail end of it coming straight into Tennessee and Kentuck, Alabama, Mississippi. We will be for sure getting heavy rains and severe thunderstorms and tornadoes from this, never fails when hurricanes come in this way through florida. So if you live in these areas, including Georgia,Flordia, batton down the hatches we may be in for a couple of wet rough days. Still haven't heard if the family members in the path of this storm down in Florida, have decided to leave and come here or if they plan on riding it out. I am just going to get prepared in case, and there will be no surprises to me....Well everyone have a productive, safe day and take care...

I have wanted to get started in this as well, just never knew where to exactly start, but have been reading up on it as of late. Also trying to get back into my cross stitching....

Hey cat, we had the bird for 5 years, I don't really know that much about birds, but I don't think parakeets are supposed to live that long.....so I guess he was old...
