  1. Here is a little trick that I use for Christmas parties for schools. Make a sandwich out of your favorite sandwich bread and meats (as well as spreads). Then take your christmas cookies cutters and cut out the centers of these sandwiches. The kids love the tree and deer and star sandwiches. The first time I did this, it was the talk of the school.....
  2. I thought that since we have so many new members, that maybe we should all reintroduce ourselves. Hi all newbies, glad you are here. My screenname in Unikemom(pronounced uniquemom), I will be 40 years old in May (oh gosh, that is the first time I have seen that in print, I sound ____.)

  5. The point of Reclaiming the Holidays, is not to stop giving,: the point is to give things that matter. Things that matter most to people these days are TIME, ATTENTION,MEMORIES, AND JOY. HERE IS A CHRISTMAS PLEDGE I FOUND IN THE ALMANAC AND THOUGHT YOU ALL WOULD LIKE IT: CHRISTMAS PLEDGE Believing in the beauty and simplicity of Christmas, I commit myself to the following: 1. To remember those people who truly need my gifts. 2. To express my love for family and friends in more direct ways than presents. 3. To rededicate myself to the spiritual growth of my family. 4. To examine my holiday activities in light of the true spirit of Christmas. 5. To initiate one act of peacemaking within my circle of family and friends.
  6. Here it is September 1st..only 21 more days until the first of Fall.Time is flying. Eveyone is off to school and work, I am having my morning caffeine fix, so I can get motivated to get to work. We have somehow became the family to yet another new pet, a little basset/beagle mixed pup. The sweetest thing I have ever seen (named her Carmella).Have no idea where she came from, just found her on my porch. She has this thing about playing with Whole Potatoes. She keeps getting my potatoes and chasing them across the living room and kitchen.... We had an upsetting afternoon yesterday. We paid this guy, to come and do some weedeating for us, since we didn't have the time to do it. Well after he got through weedeating, he took a leaf blower and blew all the trimmings off of my front walk. Well he waited until he got right under my computer room window (in which I have a parakeet sitting in its cage in front of the window)to start up this leaf blower. The bird was just fine, I was sitting at the computer, but was talking to the bird also, well this dude cranks up the blower and then I hear THUD, look over and my bird is dead as a door nail...That leaf blower scared poor ole Dexter to death. It really upset the kids.... Well everyone have a good day, and get prepared for Frances and be careful....
  7. Hey ya'll Thanks ever so much. You just gave me a wonderful idea. I can start listening to audio books through headphones, and not have to listen to the kids argue.
  8. For all watchers of this show, it is supposed to be coming on at a different time tonight, so check your schedule,,so ya don't miss it. I am getting my posting done this morning, I have got to get busy and get this house cleaned up and do some grocery shopping. We are watching closely this Hurricane Frances, for our family lives in Florida, in the Gainesville area, floral city, and pensacola areas. The weather people believe it may hit gainesville, so if evacuation is needed the ones in Gainesville will be coming here. That will make about 20 people in my 3 bedroom 2 bath home.... It may be crowded, but at least they will be safe. For anyone who may be in the path please take care and start your preps NOW, and remember we are for your safety.....

  10. A honeymoon couple is in the Watergate Hotel in Washington. The bride is concerned, asked "What if the place is still bugged?" The groom says, "I'll look for a bug." He looks behind the drapes, behind the pictures, and under the rug. Finally, he says."AHA!" Under the rug was a disc with four screws. He gets his swiss army knife, unscrews the screws, throws them and the disc out the window. The next morning, the hotel manager asks the newlyweds, "How was your room? How was the service? How was your stay at the Watergate Hotel>" The groom says, "Why are you asking me all of these questions?" The hotel manager says "Well, the room UNDER you complained of the chandelier falling on them."
  11. The Lone Ranger and Tonto went camping in the desert. After they got their tent all set up, the fell sound asleep. Some hours later, Tonto wakes The Lone Ranger and says, "Kemo Sabi, look towards sky, what you see?" The Lone Ranger replies, " I see millions of stars." "What that tell you?" asked Tonto. The Lone Ranger ponders for a minute, then says, "Astronomically speaking, it tells me there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets. Astrologically, it tells me Saturn is in Leo. Time wise, it appears to be approximately a quarter past three in the morning. Theologically, it's evident the Lord is all- powerful and we are small and insignificant. Meteorologically, it seems we will have a beautiful day tomorrow. What's it tell you, Tonto?" Tonto is silent for a moment, then says, "Kemo Sabi, you dummy. Someone has stolen tent".

In these jars I put in hot coca mixes (different flavors), coffees (different flavors) teas (different flavors). I also put in cookie doughs mixes, and in some I put in cookies and candies. Then put the gingham circle on the lid and wrap a piece of ribbob to it, then add them to baskets..
