How is it that I can do a search on my name and it will bring up contents from 15 YEARS ago but can't find contents from 15 DAYS ago???

It's supposed to be 110 F on Saturday! If you touch the car with bare hands in that kind of heat you wind up with a first degree burn!

How many of you can relate to this???

Your plants are doing very well for being in buckets. I had a bucket garden a few years ago and it is so hot here that everything just dried up and died. (even with a shade cloth to protect from direct sunlight)

Easy Ice Packs: To create an effective ice pack, put a moist sponge in a plastic bag and freeze it. (This one is actually more of a "first-aid" hack.) Pasta Packing: There's no need to shell out a small fortune on expensive spaghetti jars. The old tubes from Pringle's chips can be perfect for the same job. Cover with contact paper to disguise them. Knife Sharpening: You can sharpen knives on the base of a ceramic teacup by swiping the knife over the base at an angle. Rapidly Soften Butter: Warm a glass (either microwave or run under hot water) and then place it over butter on a plate. This will quickly soften (but not melt) the butter so it spreads easily. (I don't keep my butter in the fridge. I keep mine on the countertop so I don't usually have this problem. But I might try it the next time I get a replacement stick out of the fridge.) Stripping Corn off the Cob: Stick your ear of corn into the hole in the center of a Bundt cake pan and then scrape with a sharp knife. Not only does it hold the cob in place, but it also catches the corn as it falls off.

AARP. HATE em!!! The only I get from them is solicitations to join and get such-and-such a "premium." I used to just automatically toss the envelopes...............until I discovered that the large laminated/plastic card inside makes a wonderful divider for my recipe box! It even has a blank orange stripe across the top (to write the category on) and which makes it easy to find the different sections! Now I look forward to receiving the junk mail. It means I have a new divider for my recipe box!!!

You could set up a FaceBook closed "Group." Only those invited or requesting to join could get in, post, and read.

I run Windows 7 and use Chrome. I kept getting that horrible warning page and eventually gave up trying to get in. I am so glad to see that the site is back up and running smoothly ("knock on wood"). Now I just have to settle back in and catch up on what has been going on. BTW-when did the site come back online?
