  1. Necie! Is there a recipe posted for flavored amish bread? That sounds great!
  2. Stuffed cabbage rolls with a cucumber/tomato salad. Baked a rice pudding for dessert.
  3. I get that, CGA! I am so looking forward to a washer/dryer or just washer! Also can hardly wait to sit in a chair WITH ARMS on it! Or a couch with arms. And a full size tub will be heaven! I've only taken showers for 9 years! I kinda hate it that stupid things like that can get me down. I'm glad it doesn't keep me down! And compared to what many are going through at this time, it's just "dust in the wind"!
  4. Dear Christy, you have so many BIG burdens and obstacles in your life right now that I can't even imagine muddling through but you do so with an amazing attitude!!! You seem to have a good attitude even when you are down! I value your friendship more than you know!
  5. Baked Chicken, sweet potato and colllard greens. Mmm!
  6. This whole summer has been a roller coaster for us. First we're getting the house, then not, then maybe, then a different one, and then a different one yet. Now supposedly we are within a week of being able to get in the original one we wanted. We'll see. Definitely ups and downs! Meanwhile we are still in our tiny travel trailer--which has shrunk 3 feet since adding a large dog to the mix. Yikes! I talk to God a lot and have really tried to live each day as it comes and keep myself busy. All of that has kept me sane so far!!!!!!
  7. That's a nice article and a wonderful photo!!!! What's the title of your book on amazon? Glad you are out now!!!!!!
  8. Third ones my favorite!!!!!! Although I might change it to say dogs!!!!!!!!!! LOL
  9. Leftover chili tonight! Today I am making the basic yogurt from dry milk. It is in the Food Storage Recipes thread. and Choc Banana bread using extra oats, cornmeal mix and less flour.
  10. Making a big pot of Chili today in the crockpot!!!!!! It's pretty cold here in MS today!!!!
  11. Yesterday--Cinnamon and Salt Dough Christmas ornaments! The house smells good! Aside from bells and stars I have cactuses, bears, moose, chickens and a guitar!
  12. Crockpot full of French onion soup with a jar of my canned beef chunks added to it. Also made Corntack from that military cookbook--like hard tack but with corn for gluten free. Used some as cracker bread on the soup. They taste good! Made cornbread from the same cookbook which turned out fine and will be used in a sausage cornbread strata for breakfast.
  13. I am keeping your sister and your family in my prayers!
  14. Hi Windmorn! I take magnesium every day. I do take D3 is I'm around a lot of sick people for several days in a row but I do't take it like I used to--all the time. Actually, I'm out in the sun more now than I used to be!
  15. Welcome Windmorn!!!!!! You'll like it here!!!!!!
  16. I made some Banana Nut bread Jam in '09 and about the top 1/2 inch has turned brown but it tastes fine and we are still kicking!
  17. Great job with the ham Michael! I try to do that also. My first loaf of gluten free bread is interesting. I used corn flour as that is all I could get and afford. I know most folks are near real groc. stores and Walmarts but we are not. I just used my regular bread recipe and added three eggs and then clear gel/mixed with the flour. It looks like cornbread (in a loaf pan) and is the consistency of cornbread but tastes like regular bread! Kinda looking forward to trying other types of flour with this recipe.
  18. Baking chicken and roasting vegetables! Attempting my first loaf of gf bread. Satsumas for dessert! Thanks Ambergris! Also starting a crockpot breakfast for overnight.
  19. Ambergris! What the heck is a satsuma? I saw them the other day at the fruitstand and they looked like limes so I passed them up.
  20. We are still eating crockpot beans and collard greens also frozen leftover chicken soup. Our neighbors spend more in 3 days on food than we do in a week for everything. They eat out every day. Wish I had that money to stock up with!
  21. Tonight, the last of my homemade chicken veggie soup and some homemade rice pudding also. Both work on the gluten free plan. Tomorrow -- a hamburger/ bean bake in the crockpot and collard greens.
