I love the dulcimer @Jeepers!

Ended up with a fourth busted water pipe, yesterday. Haven't had hot water since Monday and no water for the last two days. Good thing I store water in gallon jugs for hurricanes. This too, will pass.
 

All pipes fixed at this point.

Will walk first.
Get finger printed for possible part time job.
Walk dogs.
Clean house a little.
Make phone calls for concrete fix for driveway.
Call plumbers about re-plumbing under house with pex piping.
Do some inventory in shed to bring canned goods list up to date.
Thaw shrimp and sausage to make gumbo tomorrow.

Three more nights of cold and then back to mid 30's to 50's for lows.

Happy, Happy Birthday!!!  I hope it's a relaxing one!!!

Not sure about today. It's still iced outside. 13 degrees.
Maybe walk later.
Maybe go to town later to see VA advocate, if she is in the office. We will call first.
This cold is cramping my style!

17 degrees at 5:30 this morning!

Pretty much staying home, today.
If it's clear and not icy, I might walk over to Courthouse and get DH's tag renewed.
DH is out of bananas, but may be out until tomorrow, if I am unable to walk to store.
I'm considering pressure canning some dried tortellini with spaghetti sauce if I am bored.

That sounds like me!  Always something to do and not always enough time or ambition!  I do a lot of dump cakes for Church gatherings.

Will get down to about 16 degrees tonight (now it says 15, going down), with a little icy rain. That's pretty cold for this area. Continued extra cold for about a week, then warm up a little.

Will have a taco salad, this eve made with home canned taco meat and salsa!

I forgot to tell you that I  sure  appreciate all the info about the  jeep @Jeepers!  Unfortunately, here in the  middle of  nowhere, it's not  going to work. But thanks. 

You gave me some good ideas for making the veggie soup with oats, later today!

I will use my own chicken broth, a quart of collard greens and a quart of okra, onion, tomato medley.  A handful of oats and a handful of noodles and some spices will finish it.

Thanks @Midnightmom!  I wrote down what was listed.  I always get licorice cough drops for me.

Today, I will pressure can dog food that I made yesterday.

Trying to take it a little easier today. Yesterday was very busy, but I accomplished more than I thought possible.
We ended up with 4.25" rain over the night before last. Windy and chilly when we were in town, but traffic was a breeze and not many folks out. That was what I hoped would happen!

Already cut up carrots, sweet potatoes, chicken breasts and chicken livers for dog food. And browned the hamburger. Will wait until late this afternoon to start it. Hope we don't lose electric (big winds today), if so, I will wait to make dog food until tomorrow.
I am not doing my regular walk today- too windy and crappy out.
I am picking up friend and going to town to pay a bill and shop, maybe lunch. Will be out in the cold for a lot of the day. I think that it won't be too busy at most places.
Start dog food this evening.

Week ending 1/6/24- 21.75 miles. 

Will walk in a few minutes.
Start laundry.
Work on personal and ebay year end filing.
It's supposed to start raining/ storming around noon and continue through tonight. I have everything charged that I can. Cooking is done for as long as needed. Ready to stay home.

I had never seen those carts with 3 wheels on the back.  Very interesting!

Walked first thing, this morning.
Had a fellow come over to discuss redoing our driveway.
Walked dogs.
Gave bigger dog a bath. Glad that is done.
Washing sheets, comforters and dog blankets.
I am done and it is about to start storming, so will be shutting down lap top soon!

I'll be upgrading soon to a Samsung 23, also @Jeepers.  Not excited about it, but they are going crazy trying to get me to switch to 5G.

@Becca_Anne, congratulations on your raise!  I'm sure it will help!

Taking DH to get his ears cleaned today. Apparently, the new hearing aids he was given about 6 months ago cause wax to build up. So, this will be an every few months procedure.
Walmart to pick up my new glasses and a computer mouse for DH. 
Once home, will pick up friend and take her to local grocery.
That's about it. Got the whole house cleaned yesterday, so less to do, today!

I'm sorry about your phone, @Jeepers!  Did you happen to call your local Police Dept. or Courthouse?  I have found 2 phones, 2 credit cards and a new registration while walking.  I turn them in at the Courthouse and they attempt to locate the owners.  Just another thought.

@Becca_Anne, when I went off table sugar a few days ago, I felt like an addict for the first 2 days.  Wanted to crawl out of my skin and hyper.  Now, I'm fine and am aware that sugar directly affects my sleep.  It doesn't matter when I have it.

Was up at 4:30 this morning.
Will clean baths and dust house first.
Maybe sweep house, too.
Will walk after. It's raining until 11 am or so. Upper 40's for high.
I have a couple of phone calls to make and then finish watching Equalizer 3 on Netflix.

I cooked 3 messes of collards last night for a potluck today. Glad I got 3 as they surely cook down.
Woke up at 3:30 to smoke alarm chirping. Got up and changed battery.
I'll walk in a few minutes.
Start laundry.
Help DH with some ebay listings.
Go to potluck and package and freeze whatever collards are left.

I steam can in my pressure canner instead of water bathing.  Same amount of time and only uses 3 quarts of water and no extra pot for water baths.  Just google steam canning.  First thing up was South Dakota State education website.  Plenty of other info available, too.

Such a sweet puppy @Becca_Anne!  I hope Ruby settles quickly and befriends the pup.

@Mt_Rider, I flip back and forth all night, also.  More to do with shoulder pain, than hip.
