  1. My dog Sadie and I have an addiction. We like bad disaster movies. Sadie likes Ice quake best and I like Meteor Storm. We watch the movies on Saturday's when the kids are out doing teenagers things. Sadie is a old dog, She has had one stroke and she's not very sparky anymore so this is a great time of bonding for us. Last Saturday the kids were gone and DH was on the computer so Sadie and I sat down to watch Super Cyclone a movie we haven't seen yet on Syfy. We were happy to get our addiction fix. Soon we realized the guide was wrong, They had a bad shark movie playing. Two headed shark attack. Now when I saw the movie Jaws about half way thru I was hoping the shark would eat me I was so board. I'm not a shark movie person. With in the 1st five minutes of the movie the shark ate 2 water skiers and everyone in the boat pulling them. Soon there was a yacht of collage students with their Professor near a atoll. The body count was up to 8,9 and 10. Sadie should have believed me when I told her they would be next. The 2 headed shark was hitting the atoll to sink it to get the rest of the "snacks". It was bad, we didn't believe anything about the movie. How stupid could it get?. When 15, 16 17 and 18 were being eaten, 16 had just emptied a gun into the shark at point blank range to no effect. DH took off the head phones and asked me what was that growling/roaring sound. WE told him it was the shark. One head was roaring and the other growling. DH said he didn't think sharks did that. Sadie agreed with him. So Sads and I was telling him about how bad the movie was all he said was 'and yet you're still watching it" I told him its Sadie she wanted to see it. He looked at the dog and asked me if she was even breathing. Up next sharktopus. I had enough of mostly naked twenty somethings, bad acting, and fake blood so I told Sads no. It's either Chopped or Say yes to the dress. At least they are believable.
  2. I find them just as clean as the rest of scociety. There is more ways to get clean than just showering. Most pump water using a gas generator or solar power. a few do use grid electricity just for pumping water.

  4. Babystepe I feel for you. According to fair organizers, for the first time in fair history the total for all of the 4-H livestock auctions topped one million dollars. They had record breaking attendance Wednesday for the Hunter Hayes concert andThursday for the tractor pull the grand stands are always full.

    Ducks

UHHHHGGGGGGGGGGGGGG . The ducks are male and female. The made a nest and it has 1 egg in it. We are not set up for more ducks.
  6. Never ever watch the movie Contagion and then go work the ticket gate at the fair and is it rude to ask all old farmers if someone had looked at their cancer spots? I had to take tickets and stamp people's arms so they could back in if they left. Oh the things you do for school fundraisiing.
  7. Tomorrow is the tractor pull at the fair. Take ear plugs. if you want to take him to a farm sometime I know a farmer not to far from your home town. Your are a wonderful Grandma.
  8. It's Fair week and I'm on vacation. Last night a friend posted on Facebook that she needed someone to do her shift at the information booth so the kids and I did that this morning. It rained hard early this mornig so things were a bit wet in the booth. It's one of the largest county fairs in the US. People would come up to find out where something was and I would look in the large info book for the answer while my kids just pulled out the map and showed the person where to go before I could find the info. Then the kids would make a snarky comment about me being old and not knowing anything. OK they have been going to the fair since babyhood and have it memorized. I have adult problems on my mind and can't remember everything. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I want the top down bottom up shades in my living room. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c00UX4GIG9E The ones I have found in the stores can be pricey and are made in china.. I found a local guy at the fair that custom makes and installs them for a lot less than I can get them elsewhere. Better qualilty too and if there's a problem he'll fix it. At his prices I could get one for the dinning room too. How is your week shaping up?
  9. Yup that's the place. Friday is supposed to be stormy and cooler. I'm on vacation next week so cooler would be nice.
  10. Today we had doughnuts to celebrate a team leader's 50Th birthday. We had doughnuts from a place near here called the Essenhous. Great Amish style pastry's. It was 90* in the factory at 5 this morning so they put the doughnuts in a office. Within 2 minutes of setting them out at break time the frosting melted. These doughnuts are the size of a salad plate ( I'm not joking about the size) Huge doughnuts with thick frosting stuffed with fluffy cream melting fast in a hot humid room. I didn't eat all of it and still felt sick for a while. OK, it took 3 bottles of water for me to feel better. Breaking out the BIG water jug tomorrow and staying away from sugar.

  12. http://www.onegoodthingbyjillee.com/2013/07/turn-a-mason-jar-into-an-easy-diy-dispenser.html Home DIY Mason Jar Herb Garden Tuesday, July 9, 2013 Turn A Mason Jar Into An Easy DIY Dispenser From the Simply Brilliant and Brilliantly Simple file…today’s post is short, but SWEET! I can’t believe I never thought to do something like this before. With as many mason jars as I use in my day-to-day life, being able to convert them into a dispenser of sorts is so helpful! I first spied an idea similar to this on Pinterest, except it involved using the top of a salt container. Then I spied THIS idea and decided it just looked way too easy not to try. All you need is: an empty juice carton a mason jar a mason jar ring scissors a pencil Start by opening up the top to create a flat surface. Using the jar ring as a guide, trace a circle around the juice carton opening. Cut out the circle. Press into the inside of the mason jar ring. Photos by Anna Gleave Screw on top of a mason jar. That’s it! You just made yourself a VERY useful little dispenser great for holding all sorts of pourable contents. I use mine to hold baking soda to tackle those seemingly ENDLESS tasks around the house that baking soda is good for. Like scrubbing your grimy cookies sheets………… Or removing those annoying black marks on your kitchen counter. The possibilities really are endless!
  13. I just finished another 50 hour week at work. I have one more set of exercises for my physical therapy to do tonnight. How come they make you hurt to get better? I'm trying to find the black hole that my towels keep disapearing into, I'm trying to replace my ratty towels so I'm buying a new towel every week. If I buy 52 towels 48 of them will end up in the black hole. I'm thinking part of the black hole is in my Son's room.
  14. DD2 (age 14) is in Colorado. She left here last Wednesday. They started wilderness hike yesterday. and will not be back in contact untill Saturday. This is the longest and farthest any of my kids have been from me. I know the adults she is with will do thier best to keep all the kids safe but in the quite time just before bed I worry about her being so far away. My Son (age 16) just told me he wants to go on a mission trip with juggler friend this fall. Juggler friend and a small group are going to Moldavia and Russia.
  15. I hope you are getting better. Ticks are thick this year.
  16. I mix 1/4 cup baking soda and enough hydrogen peroxide to form a paste and used it to clean my stove top. It took off all but but the most burned on crud with very little rubbing. When I have more time I'll leave the paste on for a while and see what happens.
  17. I love deals like that.

  19. Juggler friend took Son and DD2 with him to the Friend Fest and thier job was to show kids how to spin plates. My kids are now plate spinners. Son told me that he and juggler friend are going to another fest in August. A ballon artist is going to teach them balloon art and Son is going do balloon art to sale at the fest and they will split the profit. Yes Cat I'm very luckly to have 4 young christain men in my Son's life that are very intentional in their friendship with my Son and have a strong desire to speak the love of God into my Son's life. They are showing him you can be cool and love God.
  20. This morning I got up at my normal time of 3:40 am and woke up my girls a little before 4. DD1 and I have to be to work at 5. I called in and told my employer that the doctor will let me come back to work tomorrow. which is great considering he (the doctor) thought it would take weeks for me to get movement back in my shoulder and arm. Although I still don't have full range of movement and will have to have some physical therpy. DD2 had to be at the school at 5:30 to leave for her trip to Colorado( prayers for thier safety) So as I was waiting for the girls to get ready I looked over at the sofa and saw a big balloon octopus and smaller balloon lady bug. Son went weight lifting with a friend of ours who is a juggler for Jesus last night. Juggler friend takes Son and DD2 with him when he needs some extra help. I guess they are expanding their talents. I got DD1 to work on time DD2 is on her way and I can now chill with my new friends ballon octopus and lady bug.
