  1. So I was going to work at 4:30 this morning when I almost had a head on collision with a picnic table blocking my lane. In the other lane was chairs and other things. I had to drive thru someones yard to get around the blockage. The police said they had a officer on the the way.
  2. My Dad was one of 13 children and they were sometimes homeless. As a adult he worked hard to make sure we always had a roof over our heads and food on the table. He was a picky eater as an adult. We llived on 3 acres or more until I was in high school. Every year we raised 100 chickens and a beef calf that we split with family. I found out early that you don't name food. Sometimes Mom kept some chickens for eggs. My Grampa always had a garden that was at least 1 acre every year. I don't think we bought veggies from the store until I was a teen.We pick bluebarries and strawberries every year and my Grandpaernts had a gooseberry bush but the only way Grandma would use the gooseberries was if us kids would pick them. It had thorns. Chicken Pot Pie ... Remove chicken from bone and set aside. Bring broth th a boil. Drop pot pie squares into boiling broth and cook 20 minutes or intil tender. Return chicken th broth and serve steaming hot. Pot Pie Dough 2 eggs 2 cups flour 2 -3 Tablespoons milk or cream. Break the eggs into the flour. work toghter, adding the milk to make a soft dough. 4. Cat, when I read my Bible I read a chapter in the Old testament, one in the New testament , A chapter in Psalm and one in Proverbs. My Psalm for the day is Psalm 91. You are a creative wonderful Mom and Grandma. I find you to be just as caring and encouraging face to face as you are here. your family is blessed indeed to have you. I think you are a great example of a Proverbs 31 woman. Psalm 91:1-16English Standard Version (ESV) My Refuge and My Fortress91 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say[a] to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” 3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. 4 He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. 5 You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, 6 nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday. 7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. 8 You will only look with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked. 9 Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place— the Most High, who is my refuge[b]— 10 no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent. 11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. 12 On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone. 13 You will tread on the lion and the adder; the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot. 14 “Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name. 15 When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. 16 With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” Footnotes: Psalm 91:2 Septuagint He will say Psalm 91:9 Or For you, O Lord, are my refuge! You have made the Most High your dwelling place
  5. It was a suicide, what a waste. A permanent solution to a temporary problem. I've been talking to my kids about how he could have gotten help so they don't think it's a way out of their painfull problems.
  6. It was a tough day here. Dh took Son to the funeral of a school mate this morning. This boy was Son's lifting mate in weight lifting class. We are walking on egg shells with Son tonight. I'm trying to cut him some slack. He is angry and hurting. Swimming sounds fun but it's chilly here.

  8. My DD1 is home for the weekend and it's clean sheets day. Now I only need DH to get up. The bedrooms just need swept and dusted and they are done so while DD1 is out with friends I'm going to declutter the dinning room,.hopfuly I can get DH to help as most of the stuff is his. I have the dryer going and the next load in the washer. It's rainy so I don't think I can use the clothes line today. My college girl home and clean sheets. Life is good. What are you doing this weekend?
  9. it was foggy when I wnt to work at 4:30 this morning. The sun quickly burned it off when it came up. We were running great at work for the frist 3 hours but then we ran into some issues and it ground into another 10 hour day.. I'm hoping to get 4 loads of laundry done before bedtime so I can get ahead for this weekend.I also want to get the bedrooms dusted and swept. Dh started on the livingroom before I got home so that helps.
  10. I got the bedrooms cleaned and all the curtians and bedding washed. Son wanted to go shooting with his friend and the friend's brother. Dh's friend and Farmer Friend taught Son how to shoot a gun. Safety is number one. I was leary about 3 teens shooting together but as I watched them I realized all the boys were well taught. They told each other when they were taking the safety off, when they were about to fire, and when they were finished firing. One boy raised the gun he had up to far in the others direction and even though he had the safety on he was quickly corrected by the other two. I still have lots of laundry to do and the next thing on the list is decluttering the kitchen.
  11. Yarn??? On sale?? Must resist. Resistance is Futile
  12. When I saw the cat in the house I went over put the laundry basket in front of the garage door, turned off the garage light and walked away. I was so freaked out I didn't even rembember to lock the garage door.
  13. Wonderful news,The houes sounds like a great deal. Yesterday DH's BF came over to hang some blinds for me and to see if he could find what was in the basement. Dh and Son made it home and now we have to find everything DD1 forgot to pack and send it to her. Friend tripped when he was stepping off the porch and hurt his ankle. I'm not doing much today.

    Ducks

  15. A freind come over and he didn't find anything.. It had to be small and we do have a problem with squirrels.
  16. Son and DH took DD2 to college and they should be back sometime today. Last night DD2 went to a party so it was just me and shy cat, Sadie the dog at home. The basement stairs are in the garage and so is the washer and dryer (who in their right mind puts a washer in a garage in Indiana?) I was out in the garage doing some laundry with Sadie. She is old and doesn't hear or see well but she was sniffing around when I heard the basement door open. Our house was a estate sale and the woman passed away at home. We have lived here 21 years and I don't believe in ghost. The door doesn't latch but it is heavy enough something bigger than a mouse had to open it. Something about the size of a small shy cat. I mumbling about having to go find a shy cat that is good at hiding in a basement full of hiding places but first I needed some more clothes to fill the washer. I walked in the house to get another basket full of clothes when I saw Samara sitting in the dinning room licking her paw. So what's in the basement? Sadie wanted to go see but I think I'll wait until DH gets home.
  17. Her Dad and Brother took her. I stayed with DD2. DD2 is a high school freshman and started school last week. Son we put in the school system south of us. It's a smaller school system that's more farm oriented which he loves. He starts Monday. I know she will do well and has to growup and leave sometime. dogmom4, some of her freinds reproduced and never moved out. I'll take her going to college even if it's 6 hours away.
  18. I'm setting here trying not to cry. DD1 is on her way to college. I'm happy and sad at the same time.
  19. My family and I volunteer serving coffee at church once a month. Making coffee for 600 people can be fun. I feel good that I'm giving back to the church. The person in charge of children's church is always looking for volunteers. She is looking to fill positions for the fall/winter. When my kids were that age I did help out in children's church. I've also done Wednesday nights. I've done my time. For the last few weeks a voice in my mind has been prompting me to do something in children's church. I waited hoping all the jobs would be filled because I didn't really want to do it. The voice didn't go away. So I started to look at what jobs they needed done. I did not want to be a teacher/assistant. I thought about the nursery, babies are fun but it didn't feel right. The final week to sign up only 3 things were left. Working the check in counter, sound tech and special friend. Special friends deal one on one with kids that have something difficult going on in their life and need some extra attention . The voice said that's the one. Oh no! I don't want to do that I argued. They can be hard to deal with. I sent a message to the director that I would be happy to work the sign in desk but somehow it came out " sign me up to be the special friend." But that's OK. I feel at peace that I made the right decision.
  20. Dont' forget me if you meet up. Although I sometimes end up in Roseland whan I'm in that area.
