  1. This weekend we cleaned out the girls room. I washed most of the walls and only had behind the HATED bunk bed to clean. I had yesterday off so the girls and I tore down the bunk bed and finished cleaning. The girls now have twin beds to replace the HATED bunk bed. We got rid of all the old toys and are getting ready to paint the room. I only get asthma when I get bronchitis. It starts with a sore throat or sinus headache and goes down in to my chest. It usually takes a day or two before before it's bad so as soon as the sore throat hits I get to the doctor to get a inhaler. Last night I went to bed feeling good about all the work we got done. I was almost asleep when I started to chough. With in a few minutes my chest was burning. A few minutes after that I was wheezing. A few minutes after that I knew I was in trouble. I got up to tell my Dh that he need to get me to the hospital NOW. My DD1 got her inhaler and let me use it. I know you are not to use someone's else's meds but by that time I was desperate. This is the first time something other than Illness triggered my asthma and never has it happened that fast.. I still got the living room, kitchen and dinning room to mega clean and paint. I guess I need to go to the doctor and see if I can get a inhaler frist.
  2. I saw her for about 3 seconds this morning as she streaked across the living room and after she ate I now know her current hiding place. When she is in a good mood she will let you pet her. Her rules are ... NEVER PICK HER UP IF SHE WANTS TO BE PETTED SHE WILL COME TO YOU THE FOOD DISH MUST ALWAYS BE AT LEAST 1/2 FULL GUEST MUST NOT KNOW SHE EXIST DOGS ARE DORKS ALL FORMS OF FLEA TREATMENT WILL PUT YOU ON HER HIT LIST
  3. We got maybe 15 raindrops today and the only reason I know that is because I was outside at the time. If I put out a speical food that would get the dog hyper and it's been to hot to leave her outside long. Dog and Dh have a long standing feud and he has recently banned her from the bedrooms.
  4. Has anyone seen my cat? I had 2 cats. A friendly cat that passed away a few months ago and a shy cat . At the best of times I only see shy cat in the morning when I get ready for work and only then if I surprise her. Although when her food dish is low I do hear about it. When the temperature started getting into the 100's outside the house inside the house stayed around 90 to 95 I made sure the kids kept the water dish full of fresh water during the day. They even added a ice cube or two when they got themselves something to drink. Our central air went out a few years ago and it needs replaced. No room in the budget for that until we are more debt free. So it's been HOT here. Thursday farmer friend called me and said that the renters in the "grandma house" they have just left and did I want to use the window AC from that house until the high heat breaks. We curtained off the bedrooms and the AC is keeping them nice and comfortable . The rest of the house is staying at between 80 to 85 during the day. I have not seen shy cat for a week now but I've gone as long as two weeks without seeing her. Every once in a while I ask if someone in the family has seen her. Dh makes sure the food dish is full so he is the one that sees her the most. Yesterday DH asked if anyone has seen her. He said it's been a week since he's seen her. The litter box was used so I think she's still alive and DD2 thought she saw her the day before yesterday. Maybe. That cat has 500 hiding places. Some of them you would not think she could get into so I'm not looking forward to trying to find her. Weather forecast for today is partly cloudy, cooler and less humid with a shower or t-storm possible in the morning. High: 85 It's overcast and 75 right now. Maybe that will bring her out of hiding but if it storms it maybe another two weeks of me not seeing her. As long as we get rain I can live with that.
  5. Ya I meant the next two weeks, as I was typing DD1 told me she had to be at work in 15 minutes. She is working 2 jobs now. Good thing she is helping to pay for gas. It's the corn crop he was talking about. He is not milking now but he still has heifers he is thinking about getting certified organic. He got most of the hay that he needed done last month before it got so dry. I'm thinking it was only a few years ago that he had to chop his corn for silage because it was dry. It's a LOT worse now.
  6. My farmer friend said the next two would be make or break for him.
  7. The 2nd storm split and went north and south of me. We got maybe 2 drops of rain. I don't believe how many people have set their yard on fire with fireworks. Glad your back Cat

  10. I've been in a ten car tractor / traffic jam .
  11. My friend's 19 year old DD just found out she has Celiac Disease. Buying glutten frree products at the health food store is going to break the bank. I'm trying to find recipes for them. What is your favorite ones?
  12. He has been doing weight lifting at the school 3 times a week to get in shape for football. He started that back in January. He has lost 20 lbs and grew 1 inch. Another 1 1/2'' and he will be as tall as his Dad. As soon as DD2 found the marshmellows the other half of the cookies were gone. She made lazy s'mores http://www.plainchicken.com/2011/07/lazy-smores.html
  13. I went and got groceries today. When I got home I started dinner. As I was waiting for the water to boil for pasta I started a load of laundry and folded the towels that were left in the dryer and put them away. When I got back into the kitchen Son was at the stove helping to make dinner. I went to the refrigerator to get the what I needed to finish dinner I noticed that he had all ready gotten in to the cheese sticks. When I made a comment about him finding the cheese sticks he said" that's not all I found". Cheese sticks and half a pack of cookies gone in the few minutes he was alone in the kitchen. While he was making dinner, There is no left overs from dinner either.
  14. It's rainy here too. I went to the mother of all garage sales today. My friends are adopting a little girl from Haiti and the are having the garage sale for a fund raiser at our church. 22,000 sq ft of stuff. Lots and lots of stuff. Lots of people too.
  15. I have a 19 year old washer. No bells or whistles on the thing It's a basic machine. I told the kids that they can do their own laundry so I showed them how to use it. The same kids that laugh at me for my difficulty with technology can't figure out how to turn a dial on the washer and pull. Son has even called me on his cell phone so I could "Talk" him through it. I was in the next room. Yesterday Son needed some clothes washed and wanted me to help him. I've had a ear infection for the past 2 days and told him he could do it without my help. Later I was in bed reading and Son came in and bounce up and down on my bed and said " Mommy, Mommy, Mommy I even figured out how to turn on the dryer. Are you proud of me?" I know when I get the washer and dryer with all the bells and whistles that I want they are going to laugh at me because i can't figure it out..
  16. Non stick cooking spray the bane of my existence. I use parchment paper when I bake. I love the stuff. When my Dh makes his rum cake he uses the baking spray. It leaves a sticky mess on the pans that I'm having a hard time cleaning up Do you have any suggestions on how I can clean the pans.
  17. THESE REALLY WORK!! “I checked this out on Snopes and it's for real!” AMAZING SIMPLE HOME REMEDIES: 1. AVOID CUTTING YOURSELF WHEN SLICING VEGETABLES BY GETTING SOMEONE ELSE TO HOLD THE VEGETABLES WHILE YOU CHOP. 2. AVOID ARGUMENTS WITH THE FEMALES ABOUT LIFTING THE TOILET SEAT BY USING THE SINK. 3. FOR HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE SUFFERERS ~ SIMPLY CUT YOURSELF AND BLEED FOR A FEW MINUTES, THUS REDUCING THE PRESSURE ON YOUR VEINS. REMEMBER TO USE A TIMER. 4. A MOUSE TRAP PLACED ON TOP OF YOUR ALARM CLOCK WILL PREVENT YOU FROM ROLLING OVER AND GOING BACK TO SLEEP AFTER YOU HIT THE SNOOZE BUTTON. 5. IF YOU HAVE A BAD COUGH, TAKE A LARGE DOSE OF LAXATIVES. THEN YOU'LL BE AFRAID TO COUGH. 6. YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE. 7. IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU'VE GOT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.
  18. My kids are fighting over the GOOD computer so they can finish up their school work. They only have 3 days left. Not only has the vice principal taken our number off speed dial. Son has made honor roll. It has taken years of for this to happen. DD2 hopes she has brought the B+ up she got on her last report card so she can get back on high honor roll. That was due to a group project so I told her not to worry to much about it. DD1 might just miss getting on honor roll. She is working now and has let some of the easy classes slip thinking they will be easier to catch up. She has come a long way too so I'm proud of her too.
  19. That's funny I was just thinking about that song the other day. A radio station played it every day when I was on my way to school. It was a long time ago but I think it was the theme song for the morning show. Some of the farmers around here got the first cutting done about a month ago. I thought it was early.
  20. I think we are in the same county so look into the Homestead exempition for your taxes. Dh said we might lose ours because we will have the house paid off this year.
  21. Been there done that . I'm not dealing with dyslexia or ADHD but there are learning problems with my Son. The 504 plan is OK but I feel the IEP is better. This might help. http://www.wrightsla...o/iep.index.htm http://specialchildr...ht/getanIEP.htm http://www.sheknows....hild-special-ed http://www.additudem...rticle/711.html It might take more time but make the school do the evalvation. START NOW AND KEEP AT IT !!!!! Call, keep a good notebook every time you talk to them . Get names and dates. TAKE SOMEONE NOT EMOTIONALLY INVOLVED WITH YOU TO MEETINGS. Take notes. Take notes Take notes. I SOBBED when I signed my Son up for kindergarden. They just kept handing me tissue and telling me everything was going to be OK. But I knew better. It took us untill 5th grade to get him the help he needed. They did the evalvation in 1 st grade and told us he didn't qualifie for help. In 5th grade he got a teacher that was a social worker before she started teaching. She went out on a limb and bypassed the special ed department and went to the school supperintendent to ask for help for my Son. Lets just say it was not a popular move on her part but it did get us help.
  22. Son and Dh are planting the garden this weekend.
  23. Cat, the storms started closer to 3 this morning. Right before my alarm went off. It was still going strong at 4:30 and DD got up to ask me if I really had to go to work today. She was worried about me going outside because it sounded like more hail than rain. It was hard to tell over the constant thunder. The roads were very flooded on the way to work. My friend at work said her family in the Philippines had a hail storm this weekend and that rarely happens there.
  24. Mine came up with card games, sushi, and fishing stores.
  25. Today is my DD1 18th birthday. We went to the botanical gardens in Fort Wayne. She needed to practice driving in a bigger city to get her license. I had all 3 of my kids with me. My kids didn't like the parking garage. They thought it was weird. They didn't like walking down town. They all said that they were going to live as far out in the country as they can. As we were coming home I took them by my Grandparents old farm. The house has been torn down and a new one built in it place. The farm house across the road had been replaced too. That was a old house and in bad shape even when I was a kid. Nothing was the same. Kind of made me sad to see that.
