Domestic_Goddess
"Bake-In" Oozy Bread, which Rachael Ray had made on her show February 1st. It is sooo yummy!! "Bake-In" Oozy Bread ( Recipe courtesy of Rachael Ray ) 1 (16 oz.) pkg. bacon, chopped 1 (8-ounce) jar maple syrup 1 stick butter 1 (16.3 oz.) tube (8 Big Biscuits) Pillsbury Grands Home-Style Buttermilk Cheddar Biscuits 1) Preheat oven to 375°F. 2) Place a medium skillet over medium-high heat, and add bacon. Cook until crisp, about 8-10 minutes and reserve. 3) Place a small saucepan over medium heat; add the maple syrup, and the butter, (but do not bring up to a boil). Cook until butter is melted, then turn the heat off and reserve. 4) Butter or spray a 9"x5" loaf pan. Pour a couple tablespoons of the maple/butter sauce in the bottom. Layer 3 of the biscuits in the bottom of the pan. Tear up one of the biscuits, and fill in any open spaces with the pieces. Don't worry if any still remain, the ooze will fill those in. 5) Sprinkle half of the reserved bacon onto of the biscuits, and top with about a 1/2 cup of the butter syrup mixture. 6) Place the remaining biscuits on top; sprinkle the rest of the bacon over them, and top with the remaining maple sauce. 7) Transfer to oven, and bake for 25-30 minutes. 8) Remove, and immediately turn over onto a serving dish. Yields:4-5 servings. Link to comment
Belle
One of those low-cal recipes, eh? I DO have everything to make it... Sounds like something for Sunday morning... Ok, I talked me into it... I'm printing it and will try it Sunday. Thank you. Link to comment
Belle
I made this today. It was wonderful! I used 2 cans of regular buttermilk biscuits, instead of the Grands and homemade maple-flavored syrup, instead of real maple syrup. They worked just fine. I served 8 of us with this. Each one got a slice (I wasn't sure how to serve it, so I just sliced it like bread). Hubby asked me if I had another one! I told him, next time, I'd double it. Everyone wanted more. One of the kids licked the serving plate (no manners, this bunch!) You were right, DG - Ladies, you gotta try this recipe!!! Link to comment
Belle
One more thing... there is no way Rachael Ray could make this in 30 minutes. It has to bake that long, PLUS you have to cook the bacon and assemble it. It took me about 45 minutes. Still fast, but she is such a cheater! Link to comment
PoGo
I'm guessing it wasn't one of her "30 Minute Meals". LOL Link to comment
Mysticdream44
Sounds wonderful, but I can feel my hips getting wider just reading the recipe Link to comment

Belle, this recipe did not come from Rachael Ray's 30 Minute Meals (on the FoodNetwork channel). I got the recipe from her new show, that's on @ 11am (Central) on ABC. Link to comment
cookiejar
Your just jealous you don't have a team of food preppers, every ingredient and tool known to a kitchen within fingetip range and... a 10 burner stove... LOL!!!! Link to comment
Snowmom
We just had our blood work done, so now would be a good time for us to try it.. Have to wait until I get to the store though, need the Grands. Link to comment

Jewlzm
lol this is how people cheat on diets and apparently cholesterol screenings. Has anyone actually eaten this recipe and lived to tell the tale? Link to comment
Belle
You're not going to believe this, or maybe you will, but, ever since DG posted this recipe, I've made it every Sunday, at the request of my hubby. He just loves the stuff! (Ok, I'll admit it, I love it, too) I'll be making it, again, this weekend. I already have everything I need to make a double batch. I'm still not using Grands to make it, though. I substitute 2 cans of the cheapest biscuits I can find. I, also, substitute homemade maple-flavored syrup (2 parts sugar, 1 part water, & maple flavoring to taste) for the real stuff. It works out fine and is truly YUMM-O! For us, one recipe serves 8, rather than the 4 - 5 it says, and it's filling! Link to comment
