SueC Posted May 1, 2007 Share Posted May 1, 2007 The most common canning system here is the Fowlers Vacola. A 2nd hand system can cost about $50 - more if they sell the bottles with them. I was at the op shop and just had a quick look. Bottles but expensive, so I had a quick word with the assistant, he offered me all I wanted for 20c each! they were priced from $1.50 - $2.50. So I got 20 bottles (the ones I left behind had chips in them), then I turned around and the bottling system was sitting there for $3. "oh $5 for the lot" he said! So I rang DH and he came and got me in the car. Now I have 2 WBC and the pressure canner, so summer will be busy! Link to comment
