TechMom Posted January 26, 2008 Share Posted January 26, 2008 Hello everyone!! I've been lurking for a while, but felt it was time to join in the fun. My husband and I were born and raised on the coast of VA, but moved to SC over 11 years ago. Both of us are computer geeks. We have 2 adult children and 2 beautiful grands - a boy and a girl, soon to be 6 and 3 respectively. We've been ramping up on preps for several months, but have gone into high gear due to recent developments. I used to garden and can a significant percentage of our food, but when we moved to SC, we didn't do much other than plant some herbs. Looks like we'll be rectifying that deficiency this spring!!! It is about halfway between Charlotte/Rockingham and @5 miles North of #9 off 109 at Griffin Family Lodge. We cover lots of subjects and it is about like a big family reunion(been having two per yr for 5-6 yrs). Go to minionreport.net under the Connect forum for details and the old gatherings for pics. It is a family affair. We learn lots and eat a bundle. Not expensive either. We have a fun auction Sat night after the BBQ and the proceeds usually pay for the rental. Just bring something to toss into the pile-can't beat that price. There are @ 20 bunks inside the lodge building or you can camp/camper. Plenty of room. Link to comment
