I feel like a fraud.

I LOVE to can. Let's get that out of the way. Every year I can till I can't can anymore. This year, I had to go back to work. Love the job, love the garden, love my fam, can't balance it all. My tomatoes are beginning to rot on the vines faster than I can keep up. I come home from a 8-9 hour day at work and It's all I can do to scrape a little housework and dinner together. Did I mention how far behind the laundry is right now? I better not;?)

 

Apples are coming in now...I guess I better suck it up and get on with life...

 

Anyone else feeling like this or have any fantastical wisdom for the weary. I miss being barefoot at home all the time during canning season:?(

Could you throw the tomatoes into a freezer until you have time to can them??

Rinse the tomatoes off. Put them in baggies and freeze. You can use them straight from the freezer.

Thanks! Freezer is full of freshly butchered chickens, but I think I can do a little rearranging and fit a few in!

No - no fraudulism (I just made that word up) here...just one woman...we've all been there one time or another.

 

Freeze the 'matoes and use them later...do what you can on the weekends...remember that very few things in the world smell as good as simmering applesauce!

apples... get straw... layer them in straw until you can get to them

Deligate chores to family...they don't help with that mountain of laundry, they miss out on applesauce.

I've been working ONE extra day each week....and it's KILLING me! FWIW, I ditched homeschooling to keep up on house and home and kitchen and etc.
