Photos from Darlenes Gathering

Starting with a few scenic type photos--I'm learning about posting these as I go. They were so much fun to take!!!!! The views around the farm were lovely as you can see!

This first photo shows Wormguy building something on the piano. To my knowledge, nothing blew up that day. The fourth photo is of us learning to make butter and the second is Darlene using her butter churn! The fourth is a shot of Ds dining table before we added two more tables to hold everyone.

A few more outside shots and I really would like to know what that flowery berry thing is. Steph and kids starting a fire for lunch (hot dogs and s'mores). Lastly Madison looking very pensively at the fire.

Here are a couple of photos from dinner Sat. night including the baking of the dump cakes and the finished product!

These are from Saturday afternoon when darlene taught us to water witch. Finding water using a forked stick or two copper bars. Also a couple of Stephanies young men who are most assuredly gentlemen!!!!

MacKinnon and mom are first in this lineup (so to speak). The second and ninth are shots of Madison-Darlenes daughter. The rest are 3rd and 8th --Gunplumber and his shooting class. They made a lot of noise!!!!!! And had lots of fun--I would say especiaally the kids but I think some of the "bigger" kids may have had more!

Now we come to the beekeeping segment of the weekend. Second photo is MrMomM setting up with a hornets nest in the tree beside him. It was a quiet set up! The third photo is my favorite of the weekend. Sort of a Three Musketeers/ ZZ Top remake! It was very interesting to watch --from a distance. More to come

Most of these shots are of Darlene extracting honey which as you will see in the next group gets pretty hands on! The most important member of Darlenes pack is her little terrier, Grrrrrr!

Pretty cool, huh? Darlene explained all about the different types of honey and the bees. And we all left with a pint of her honey! Amazingly, that was not stolen out of my suitcase! They don't know what they missed!!!! But I'm glad!

Sure wish these had posted in the order I added them! the second photo is of Stephanie teaching us to crochet and knit. The third shot is Mr. MomM playing some type of drum--maybe MomM or Mr. will elaborate?! The third is difinitely hands on honey extraction! Fourth is Mt. Riders bed for the visit. Our group photo is the last one. The first photo is from Wormguys car as he drove me to Chattanooga so I could skip one leg of my bus ride as I headed to visit mom11. This was such a great time that I hope anyone who possibly can, will come next year! It is not a visit you will forget and the pictures really don't do it justice, but they were fun to take!!!! Thanks again Darlene!!!!!!!!

Thank you for sharing the pics. What a learning experience for all of you. Thank you each for the wonderful adventure that you shared with us. What a beautiful place to have it at.

 

There has been a lot of work done there-----Just noticing the fencing, outbuildings, etc. Makes me set back and daydream. Someday, maybe? God bless and protect each of you there and everyone else on the forum. Stay safe and lots of love.

Now I realise that everyone who met me at the gathering opened with the words, "OH, she's so small...or short....." But not THAT small!

 

That was a beautiful cradle [heirloom] and Snapshot just had to fit it into the photo lineup somehow.

Mt. Rider was incognito! Actually I'm not sure she was there. Oh wait! She is the one who picked out the lovely tablecloth to match my bedding! I miss her!!!! Yep, she was there but not in photos.
