  1. Mine will probably get buzzed again soon. I told the priest who has chemo that I'm using his impending hair loss as an excuse to buzz mine (conservative church...the ladies are very against me buzzing it without good reason).
  2. Hubby got a call from his work. They're cutting salaries, have no idea about other incentives they've been doing, or how exactly he's going to be paid. I ran the projections, and we're fine through April even without any extras being paid and him at half-salary. *crosses fingers*
  3. We have... ...nothing. Mesquite trees and prickly pears and goat heads.
  4. Today, I'm going to chop up produce and freeze it for future green smoothies. I have so much green in the freezer, it's getting ridiculous. We're still under nothing more than the "less than 10 people" rule. Hubby's planning on all of us going to see his sister tonight, about 45 minutes away. She need TP and pasta, apparently.
  5. I've been seeing that younger people are needing ventilators in the US than in other countries. Some people are suspecting it's because of all the crap we eat, that our younger folks just aren't as healthy as they are in other countries.
  6. He'll be seeing a lot fewer people. Our congregation is definitely in the high-risk category...and he's about to start chemo, so he'll be in the VERY high risk category and the other priests will take over any visiting required (which still probably won't be much, as most of our congregation seems to be hunkering down). I'm figuring I'll sneak in and spray his office down every day after he's done when I'm there to help minimize the risks.
  7. My major crunch time should be over hopefully after tomorrow night. After that, I can relax and hopefully get some more sleep. Speaking of...I'm going to head to bed now. I only slept a few hours last night, and that is not acceptable in my world even once.
  8. So, uh...how many memes do y'all want?
  9. We're starting to partially shut the office down at work. Not completely, but the accountant and I are going to swap off days that we're in (so somebody is there for deliveries, to check the mail, and answer the phones) and tell everybody else to stay home unless they need to be in the office. The rector will probably be in at least part of the day most days, but that's mainly because he can't get anything done when he works at home. Much less than the 12 people usually floating in and out of the office all day.
  10. My sentiments exactly after this week.
  11. I have a pressure canner coming from Amazon. I'm hoping it'll still make it here on Thursday. My ButcherBox has shipped, so I should be good on meat. I plan to figure out how to can ground beef. It'll be a learning process. I also need to figure out how to dehydrate greens, and how they'll blend back up afterwards. Doing LOTS of green smoothies right now, but a bit worried about what happens if I can't get more greens at the store.
  12. No reported cases in our area, but it's just a matter of time. Hubby thinks there's no chance of them shutting down to non-essential services out here, because everything supports the oilfield in some way, and THAT is an essential service. I'm not so sure, and am trying to get the church prepared if we can't even go into the office.
  13. Something I just ran across on Facebook.
  14. Y'know what I'm really thankful for? Our big front deck was completed last week. We can sit outside in our chairs and enjoy outside air. It's covered too, so as long as the rain doesn't blow too hard, we can sit out there in all weather. Found cheap rocking chairs for out there at Academy yesterday. Now I just need a lounge chair...
  15. Stay home. I probably would if I could tomorrow. Read too many things about the 1918 flu, and where social distancing worked and where it failed.
  16. They're allowed to bypass the usual safety tests for vaccines...
  17. I'm going through a program with a LOT of green smoothies (yay, veggies!). I'm a very texture-oriented person, and my blender kept leaving threads of celery and greens in my smoothie, which means I was having to spit stuff out while I'm drinking and drink a lot slower to get around it. Ordered a Nutribullet Rx for $80 (Amazon Warehouse - used, but that just means somebody ordered it, looked at the package, and sent it back, in this case). I used it for the first time this morning, and this thing just purees the crap out of everything and it's beautiful. Working on getting healthier...
  18. It won't let me quote AND type for some reason. I was going to point out that cluster isn't usually followed by UH OH!!! if you're around military people or engineers...There's another word that I'm pretty certain we're not supposed to use on this site.

    COMEDY

Ambergris, hubby wants to know what you do if they answer yes.
  20. We have a front porch, and it looks fabulous! There's also spaces down along side where I want to put a raised box with herbs in it, but I'm not sure they won't just fry in the west Texas sun. They'd at least only get sun until about noon there.
