  1. But my house is really dirty! I was so busy all winter and spring that it needs a GOOD cleaning!
  2. Hamburger patties with leftover pot roast gravy over them Noodles with gravy/sour cream sauce for DH 3 bean salad Brussel sprouts
  3. My DH is also type 2. Just found out about a year ago. The Dr. thinks he probably had it for years and that it not being diagnosed has caused most of his recent health problems. The Saturday Evening Post has been having alot of medical themed issues lately. Fascinating info on many health problems including heart disease and diabetes. I know they recently had alot of stuff in there about the Islet transplants.
  4. Sounds like Mary, Dee and Momo are doing their part to stimulate the economy. Buy appliances and clothes and be patriotic! I noticed alot of items have been hard to find on good sales lately. I just wait them out if I can. I figure eventually it will happen. Snow it sounds like the boys are settling in. That's great news. We had bad storms all around us after dinner, but it has settled down now. About 20 miles south of us the winds were gusting at 70 mph. Really strange. Fortunately I don't think anyone got hurt. At least DH got enough rain for his new pasture grass.
  5. Slow cooked oven baked ribs Cole slaw Hash browns for DH Steamed brocolli Homemade chocolate pudding for DH
  6. I enjoyed parts 1 and 2 but for some reason our lovely cable company (Charter) decided to lose PBS last night so I missed the conclusion. 78 channels and 70 of them are worthless. So why did they have to lose only that one . Darn it! I guess I'll just have to try to catch it when it reruns.
  7. Ahhh. Brigid...another girl who recognizes the significance of old teeth! DH collects them too. He keeps his in a jar in the bathroom. LOL! I am soooo glad he never looks at the computer or I would be in deep doggy doo right now.
  8. Great News!!!!!!! Welcome home!!!!!
  9. It was predicted but our rain was a no show. Maybe tomorrow afternoon they're saying now. DH can't wait since he re-seeded the horse pasture. It got pretty hot today -85 degrees but it's supposed to get back to more normal temps tomorrow. Mid 70's or so. I got to use my brand new washer today. I love it. I got so used to all the noises from my 27 year old Maytag that I had a hard time with all the quiet. The new one doesn't even screech when the spinner stops! Take care all.

    EARTHQUAKE

Good idea Dinmi, it would be MUCH safer for the public. Theyd must be too young to remember jumping jacks at recess. Snowmom you sound skeptical about the jumping jacks.
  11. Alot of stuff (junk) I'm lucky I finally have a basement and an attic. Number one is sentimental items. These I can never part with. My great grandma's slop jar, my son's baby teeth etc. I collect different types of glassware including depression glass and pyrex ware. DH collects model Ford 8N tractors and 1950 Mercury cars. Plus the real 8N tractors and some buggies. The kind horses pull. I also collect books and old family photos. I am best at collecting dust and pounds though!
  12. Oh Dame Edna. Beauty and a silver tongue to boot!
  13. DebbieLee you have to think like a lawyer when you read the fine print!
  14. Beautiful today. Supposed to get up to about 80 degrees. Good day for DH to dig up the water line and see where it broke. It figures. I finally broke down and got a new washing machine yesterday and couldn't even make sure it works cuz the waterline broke. Wonder if our little earthquake jostled something yesterday. So glad I don't have little kids around. No water is tough with kids in a house. My Y2K water has come in handy for flushing and the animals. We're not planting a very big garden this year. DH planted way too much last year and couldn't take care of it all. We planted a row of black walnut seedlings along our property line 2 years ago. The ones that our neighbor didn't "accidentally" weed whack away are doing real well. I don't know how many years it takes for them to produce nuts. Got a feeling I may be dead before they do. Have a great day!

    EARTHQUAKE

I'm gonna fess up. In my useless attempt to catch up with all the ladies who walk miles in Our Gym, I decided to get up very early and begin my exercise program with jumping jacks. So sorry for all the inconvenience I caused.
  16. Cute.. How about "My kid is an honor student at his home school"
  17. Ya'll don't get so mushy on me here!
  18. Also take photos of tombstones. Most of our stones have been legible. I've only had one from 1919 that was tough to decipher. Even one from 1814 is readable on the photo I took. I keep them in a special album and call it my dead relatives photo album.
  19. I'm cooking up some pot roast in my crocker pot For DH there's mashed potatoes For me on diet, not. We both will be able to devour Some steamed cauliflower A zesty bowl of lettuce greens Will add to this sweet scene!
  20. Sounds like things are starting to fall into place. Hang in there!
  21. Hurry back! Not only do we miss you but I'm pretty sure that Cavey is VERY sad. We can't wait to hear your hospital stories. Maybe you'll have some great hospital food recipes to post for us. (NOT)
  22. Can I have the mop? (Just kidding)
  23. It was pretty good. They went to alot of trouble to be historically accurate. I really felt for the cook. Imagine cooking a multi course gourmet meal for 20 guests and having to do it on a coal burning wood stove.
  24. For some reason I cannot get that song out of my mind. You know the commercial where the music is going,"Gotta go, gotta go, gotta go right now. Gotta go, gotta go, gotta go" Gotta go before Pee Dee gets me!

    EARTHQUAKE

The epicenter was about 20 miles from here. It woke both DH and me up at 4 am. I knew what it was immediately since we had one about 1 year ago. No damage here but some people closer in had dishes and stuff knocked off their shelves. I've lived here a long time and this is not a quake area (Like LA is). They can happen nearly anywhere though. Don't expect another one Frannie! It could be a very long time.
