  1. Thanks Snow I already have FTM and PAF is free on the internet now. I started to fill out FTM but fortunately I hadn't done too much when my other puter died at Christmas. Just thought I'd ask around before I enter lot of info again. Anyone else have any thoughts?
  2. Before I start to enter all my data in earnest I wanted to ask what program would any of you recommend? FamilyTreeMaker,PAF etc. I would hate to enter it all only to find that I wasted my time on a bad software setup.
  3. Ice...snow? Are you sure it's April dear? Tonight's repast was Homemade chicken parmesan(without breading so I could have it ) Mashed potatoes with extra chicken sauce for DH Steamed fresh asparagus Sauteed squash with onions Oatmeal cookies for DH
  4. I guess I'm in the Midwest. At least it's the closest to me in our latest division of the world. So put me down for Alabama. BTW it was beautiful today so DH and I got in the car for points unknown. We ended up in a small German founded town about 40 miles from here. I had been there before but this time we came in from a different direction. Amazing how many different things you see from a new perspective. We had a really nice time and spent the whole day roaming. (What a shame my house is still a mess and my laundry is piled high. ) Oh well. tomorrow is another day!

My nice long post disappeared when I typed the wrong key! This darn puter makes me crazy sometimes!Grrr
  6. That makes it so much easier to share them!! Lucky Lois.
  7. Pork chops sauteed in bacon grease and garlic Hash browns for DH Cole slaw Succatash(sp) Biscuits for DH
  8. Can't help you much. We just finished raising our first hogs earlier this year. Since we only had 2 we took them to a processer to do it for us. It was more than they charged to process the cows but they do have to make the sausage and hams with all the spices etc. BTW it is alot tastier than the store bought meat. It's also the best sausage I've ever tasted. Everyone we've given samples to has just loved the sausage. I also found out (from the processer guy) that boar meat (an unfixed male) is awful and the taste of the meat is usually ruined.
  9. Go back in time. Remember when you were a junior or a senior in high school? If someone back then had told you what your life would be like today would you have believed them? Has your life turned out the way you thought it was going to?
  10. Brocolli and corn. Hmm...that's one combo I 've never tried. Sounds good though.
  11. Meatloaf with brown gravy Mashed tatters for DH Tossed salad with homemade bleu cheese dressing Steamed green beans (the last of last years garden) Blueberry cobbler for DH
  12. Snow you better stay away from those BIG Minnesota mosquitoes! By the way I forgot to mention that they check your cholesterol and mail the results to you. Another little bonus.
  13. Oh no..now I feel guilty about the beautiful day we had here. It was in the upper seventies and gorgeous. I'll try to send some up north to you poor popsicles. I actually got some spring fever today and cleaned out 2 boxes of misc. "stuff" in my office. DH was so happy to see that. He hates my messy office. Tomorrow should be fun. I get to see my ex- SIL. She's coming to town for her job for 4 days and we'll get to visit after work at night. She is my sons aunt so we are all gonna get together for some sort of dinner. Probably a BBQ since it's so warm. Hope you get some more mobility Snow. I know how you feel. It is very hard to slow down when spirit is willing but your body just can't do it. Glad BeccaAnne had a nice birthday!! Sure hope Kimrstz and Dee don't have any tender vegetation that was damaged by the cold and snow.
  14. Well you fooled me Becca! I didn't think you looked a day over 29!
  15. Want to do something good but wouldn't mind a little reward for it at the same time? Donate blood. Since there is a nearly nationwide shortage of blood donations many organizations are giving free "gifts". Locally, they are giving a coupon for a free Domino's pizza and a nice T-shirt that says "I bleed red, white and blue" to those who donate. It only takes a few minutes and is usually painless. Think about it! Some day it could be you or someone you love who's life may be saved.
  16. Sausage with onions and green peppers Steamed rice for DH Green beans with bacon Salad Broccoli casserole Peach cobbler for DH
  17. Something that always works for me is to go to a chinese restaurant and eat something spicy like Kung Pao Chicken. Before I finish half of my meal my nose starts running! Plus I don't have to do the dishes after.
  18. I hate to list all the vitamins I take!! I can't prove it but I know that some of them have helped me quite significantly. Even my Dr. admits that they have helped me and that's saying something. When I was a little girl my Granny was a health nut and I learned alot from her about health and nutrition. Back before I was even born she used to have an organic garden with mulch etc. Back then people thought she was a nut but she lived to be 90 and now they are proving that pesticides and fertilizers can be harmful.
  19. We just finished a wonderful repast of homemade hungarian goulash (with lots of paprika and sour cream) DH had his over noodles and I had mine plain. Steamed fresh asparagus and a salad for both of us and cornbread for DH.
  20. How about # 11...be careful at what web sites you visit! Some of them are pretty HOT right now. I know I am being VERY careful with what I say to my Aunt and my best friend. I don't want to set either one of them off since we have completely different opinions. I try to stay on safe subject matter like the weather and the kids, etc. when I talk to them.
  21. I straightened out the freezer and vowed to use up the last of last years cow ASAP. So, tonight I fixed short ribs of beef with bbq sauce in my little oven roaster. Also had the last of last years green beans with some bacon from the pig we just got back. DH got to have baked beans with his dinner since he's not on a low carb diet like I am. He also had some sherbet for dessert.
  22. I sure hope Cavey didn't catch a "computer virus"!
  23. We have a pet pygmy. She is sooo cute and sweet. Please be sure to protect her at night from predators. They love goats. We put ours in the chicken coup with the chickens at dark.
  24. We were in town today and saw THAT despicable man at the house again. Don't know what they were doing since EVERYTHING was gone. I asked him if they found anything else. I asked him if he might need help to check out the attic too. DH offered to help him double check for things. He told us he had checked everything and had mailed a bunch of old pictures to his step daughter. I had to bite my tongue cuz I know I found all those old pictures in the trash. Oh well, I did all I could without being a pest. When I went through the box I picked up a few days ago guess what else I found? In a little box that I figured was pictures were some little metal girls toys. There was a little note in with them in my Aunts writing that said, "My toys as a little girl" They are sooo cute. One is a miniature iron, another is a miniature coffee pot etc. Since my Aunt was born in 1927 these are definitely old toys. I bet her grand daughters will love them!
  25. When we used to have fish I would use the water when I cleaned the tank out for watering my plants. They seemed to thrive on it.
