I canned some jalapeno peppers for DH last night. We tried some at lunch today and of course the one I bit into nearly took my head off with the heat it had!!!! Wow. That was my first and last jalapeno. The ones DH had were just fine..I picked the lucky pepper. NOT.

What a cute fella Sassenach! Hot but not opressive here. The humidity is due back this weekend though.

That is too long for company to stay!!!

Glad you are doing better. My DH had a horrible flu shot complication a few years back. His muscle mass on his upper arm is getting harder to find and the pharmacist hit something wrong. We had to go to the ER and it was bad. (Don't ever let a chain store pharmacist give you a shot)

If you have cable they charge an extra 7-10$ a month to rent their set top box per tv. You can often use a Roku for a second or third tv (instead of a set top box) if you have wi-fi.

Someone else is supposed to take over the network. Rumors are flying all over the place. No news in the paper or on tv so who knows what is really going on.

Our local electric coop got a government grant of 20 million dollars to build a fiber optic network. It provided tv cable, internet broadband and phone service in a package that was to be competitive with the big boy in town (Charter). It FINALLY went on line less than 2 years ago. They started out the same price, but then a few months ago raised their rate by about 30$ a month. I couldn't figure out how they charged more when they got the network set up mostly at taxpayer expense. Any way, they are now pulling out of the business entirely. No reason given. It just irritates me as a taxpayer. Grrrr!

Summer is here. Last week was great but this week we are in the low 90's. It's not too humid yet, but that will come soon!

I have been back on the wagon for 3 solid days..hope I can get with the program again. Which model FitBit do you have? I would like to get one and I have been watching for sales but they don't seem to have very many.

My first official homegrown garden tomato of 2016 has arrived and was duly eaten this morning...yummy!!!

I am back up to within 20 pounds of my all time high. YIKES!! I cracked down yesterday. I must be extra strict for a few weeks at least. I think alot of it is stress but there is always an excuse.

As of June 6th WalMart is ending it's price match program. This is where they will match a sale price at another store if you show them the ad. However, they will still have a similar program if you use their app for price matching, giving you a merchandise credit at their store for the difference.

I too have picked up a few pounds. It is so easy to do. Just a few days of not being vigilant and WHAM.

I made fresh gulf shrimp in a butter/garlic sauce, corn on the cob, pickled beets and cajun rice last night. Tonight I am planning on making rump roast, mashed potatoes/gravy, spicy carrots and salad.

Has anyone here tried mail order foreign drug companies? I have noticed 2 lately where I can afford to refill DH's expensive drug. I wonder if they are safe or reputable. One is called GlobalPharmacyPlus and I think the other one was called AllDayChemist. Has anyone here tried them or any other ones?

I am not going to weigh in for a bit. I don't want to get discouraged and have a pig out feast!

I couldn't believe it got down to 44 this am...May in Alabama? I'll take it though. Soon I will be a solid mass of sweat for a few months. DH is putting a hitch/carrier on the car so it will be easier to transport our shared scooter. Whoever is having the worst day gets to use it..lol. It is taking him a while to do it, he is just slowing down so much physically. It is still saving us about 50$ by doing it himself so it is worth it. My sister is back in the hospital. The drugs she has to take are causing so many side effects. They don't expect her to last much longer. I am trying to arrange a trip next month to take the grands with me to go see her. It is a long trip to Florida. WE2 I hope your Dad recovers well. Dear MIL started falling regularly at 89. Most women have weak bones by then. She was a toughie though!

My newer crock pot bit the dust. I kept the crock liner and I now use it for dog water. It is heavy so it doesn't tip over easy and the water stays cool in it. The dogs haven't complained.

My border collie killed a bob cat about 2 weeks ago. I couldn't believe it, but I saw the corpse with my own eyes. This one was about a third to one half the size of my fat collie. Hopefully it's the last one we find around here!
