  1. Be happy to help! Isn't that part of what we're all about? Give me a bit to rummage around in my computer and see if I can find the original scanned pages. Okay - found it. It's on the way to you, Cat. Would it be possible to post them here in this thread for all to see?
  2. Got an email from Honeyville Grains: SUMMARY: For a very limited time SAVE 20% ON YOUR ENTIRE ONLINE ORDER*. Sale runs from Tuesday 7/17/2012 through Friday 7/20/2012. 3. I have several of the Wal-Mart specials and 1 American Harvest/Gardenmaster. Love the American Harvest one. It's got 8 trays (can hold up to 12) and a thermostat. Each tray came with a plastic grid AND a fruit leather sheet. I rarely use the Wal-Mart ones now. I love the thermostat option. I guess you could consider the American Harvest to be a mid-grade model.
  4. What wonderful memories you carry of this influential lady. That's something to cherish. May your heart be comforted as the days pass.
  5. Capeannma - I'll be glad to scan the book and send to you. I did get your PM, so I have your address. May not be able to get to it today, though, but I will as soon as I can! Glad to help...
  6. some great uses there! I really liked the shaker lid, the silverware and glass combo, and the match holder with striker lid. I'll be using some of these ideas, I believe!
  7. Wishing you loads of fun and memories! Enjoy the company
  8. My heart goes out for your loss. May you gain a bit of comfort in her peaceful passing. Keeping you in prayers.
  9. I have no words of wisdom for you in this situation. My thoughts are prayers are with you, though.
  10. One more step downhill on the slippery slope this nation is sliding down! And so many people just don't get it. *sigh*
  11. GG, you're in luck! I had an old hand grinder still in the original box that I got 'somewhere' along the line. It's been sitting in a cabinet for who-knows-how-long! I just checked and it's a model 303 with instructions. If you'll give me a couple of days, I'll get the pages scanned in and sent to you. Please PM me with your email address and I'll get you the manual soon as I can!
  12. What wonderful news! Congratulations!
  13. With your upbringing, we should have plenty to learn from you! Welcome to the forum! I hope we can offer some knowledge to you!
  14. It's downloading now! Thanks for sharing...
  15. A layer of cream cheese in the middle!
  16. All good tips! My dehydrator trays all have the fruit leather inserts, so I wouldn't have to line with wax paper, but the blueberry juice may discolor my trays
  17. There's only 2 user names I use around the web. One (not this forum) has 43,000 hits, but is pretty generic that it seems every entry is for someone/something different. This user name has over 7 million hits, so I don't really feel that I'm in too much danger of being tracked down.
  18. Thanks for the answer, daylily! I've got the dehydrator running right now drying some sprouted wheat berries. I may have to go defrost some blueberries and try it out!
  19. Adding my agreement with being able to freeze them. Back when I purchased them, I would usually leave them in the store package and put that into another ziplock. They are fairly easy to separate out while frozen. Good tip from Annarchy about oiling the corn ones to help with cracking! They are very easy to make from scratch, so now I just make them as we want them. After tasting the first batch, DH declared that we wouldn't be buying them again....
  20. Would you be able to dehydrate previously frozen blueberries without cutting in half or blanching? I'm thinking the freezing swelled the berries and split the skin just as blanching or cutting would do? I've got lots of last year's berries still vac packed in the freezer - dehydrating would be a great option to free up space!
  21. Welcome from another new character around here. I've found this to be a wonderful site, full of friendly discussions and helpful advice!
  22. That's interesting that it becomes milder. I would have thought it becomes stronger much like my pickled okra that becomes far too pucker-y and far too salty if we don't eat it all within the year it's canned.
