Author: Sarah Olson
Prep time: 25 mins
Cook time: 5 hours
Total time: 5 hours 25 mins
  • 8 medium sized Gala Apples (4 pounds before peeling and coring)
  • 1 (15-oz.) can pumpkin puree
  • 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp. ground nutmeg
  • ⅛ tsp. ground cloves
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • ½ cup apple juice or water
  • brown sugar to taste (add at the end, I used a half cup)
Slow Cooker Size:
  • 6-quart or larger
  1. Peel, core and slice the apples. Add the apples to the slow cooker.
  2. Add the can of pumpkin puree, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, vanilla and apple juice.
  3. Stir.
  4. Cover and cook on high for 5 hours or low for 8 hours.
  5. When the cooking time is done stir with a whisk until the desired smoothness is desired. Add brown sugar to taste, I used a half cup of brown sugar.
  6. Store leftovers in fridge or freezer. This is not a canning recipe.
