  1. Possibly being blocked? IDK.. need to check into it. With all the censorship going on in the world…. Do you use a VPN?
  2. IDK, Jeepers… I am thinking it came ‘word of mouth’ from my Grandmother’s side of the family. Still searching….
  3. Also, transferred all my mulch to the garden, dug it in, 16’ x 8’, 2’ deep, and planted. Trimmed trees, queens wreath, bushes, & roses, filled 12 garbage bags of debris and bundled 20 bundles of yard & tree trimmings, for bulk pickup, for last Monday’s pickup. Then, prepped DH for the monthly trip to TX. Replaced his windshield wipers, this morning, because it was raining. He hit rain, strong winds, and dust storms along the way. Forgot to mention, cleaning house, and giving the dogs a thorough bath, they were smelling quite ripe. Tomorrow, is brushing them…. I can foresee a couple garbage bags of fur in my future.
  4. So, my ‘baby’ twin brothers came down from MT to go to a school friends wedding in Phoenix. They spent the night, along with DH’s adopted son. They went out, came back with a couple friends they hadn’t seen in 20 years. We had a fire pit, while I cooked home made scratch pizza. They left in the morning for the wedding, meeting up with my other brother in Phoenix. Brat, didn’t even drive an hour to visit.. it’s all good. Pay backs.. lol. Then, DH’s friend came to visit.. oh my! He has a “sleeper” car…. He’s the friend we went shooting with and I hit the 1,000 yard range target…. His car is so sweet! Trust me, it isn’t what it seems… Want to see what’s under the hood? Now, want to see why that’s a big deal? But, “Grandpa” is one of our best friends, for so many years. He likes his toys. Prayers are requested for 2/21.
  5. Thank you!!! Scanned through it, but didn’t see anything close Maybe tomorrow I can check closer. Sent a link to my brother…. We had a bunch of antique history, poetry and encyclopedia books, growing up. IDK. I do know, I always got “A”s on my book reports and history reports… back in the ‘60’s.
  6. IDK where I learned it, maybe my Grandmother and Mother. I remember singing it to my brothers, while rocking their cradles.
  7. My brother, God bless his soul, asked me where a lullaby, we remember… come from. After an extensive net search, I can not find anything like it. Has anyone ever heard it and knows where it came from? one night a star baby way up in the sky grew tired of shining and started to cry dear momma, dear momma, I'm tired he said please give me my breakfast and put me to bed so off went the star momma on the wings of true love to the bright shining dipper that shown from above she took it and hurried to the Milky Way stream where she filled it with fresh milk & cream she fed the star baby with a bright shining spoon a rocked the star baby in a stunning new moon Some of my words may be off, but, thanks to my brother, it’s been stuck in my head all day.
  8. Let me check with DH’s kid. He used a program, called “Crap Cleaner”. Sped up DH’s Win 10 a LOT! He will be here… with the whole family, 2 girls, the new baby & 1 boy, + his Lady on Sunday. 🙄
  9. That’s awesome, Homesteader! Nothing like having it on the shelves, especially when the stores don’t have it.
  10. 8 jars of chicken soup & 5 jars of chicken! Nothing broke in the canner and all sealed. 1 ten lb. bag of chicken, had bbq chicken one evening and chicken salad sandwiches with the leftovers. Whew… all cleaned & put up…… now…. back to the regularly scheduled house cleaning.
  11. They are over 6’ tall, and grey haired already.
  12. So, my little baby twin brothers, came down from Montana, yesterday afternoon. We had a wonderful visit. DH’s son came in too, they know him, grew up with him. I cooked, from scratch, two 16” pepperoni, thin crust pizzas, while they sat outside reminiscing… lol. I basically raised all 3 of them them from birth, my “babies”. They went out, & ended up meeting some friends, they went to school with, and we had extra company for several hours. Today, I have been washing bedding, to get the aftershave/perfume out of the house. I’m extremely allergic to the smell. Runny eyes & nose. Love them to death, but, that funk racks my system. No, I don’t say anything, I don’t want them to be offended…. Everyone left this morning. The twins are meeting up with my other brother in Phoenix, the one I visited in Lake Havasu, to go to a friends daughter’s wedding, then they are heading back to MT Monday morning. While DH’s boy had to go home to take care of his new baby & kids. I seriously doubt he will visit. The twins were going to stop there first, but, his plumber caught his house on fire. He gets a free remodel of their bathroom now..
  13. Caldio 1 lb cubed beef Sprinkle with; salt, pepper, Ground cumin, onion powder, & garlic powder, then, mix. Sauté, over medium heat. Add sliced, quartered onion, Sauté, add diced tomatoes & simmer 15 minutes. Add diced jalapeños (to taste). Add 2-2 1/2 cups of water. Simmer 30 minutes. Add 2-3 cubed potatoes, and simmer until potatoes are cooked.
  14. That’s a nice list euphrasyne, Very nice. A couple I didn’t recognize or know what you use them in. Bread seasoning, everything bagel, & Sazon. Otherwise, I have about the same variety. I can add a few to your list, Sage, Greek, Italian and Mexican oregano, white pepper. Mixed spices/seasoning; Gumbo File, Pepper Chere, Quarterdeck, peppermint, Achiote (Annato), Creole, and a few more. I re-package most all my spices & seasonings into canning jars. It makes it easier for me to see if I’m running low. I will add more Mexican recipes, as I cook them.
  15. Went to WM. Most everything was stocked. Except pasta. They had 2 packages of angel hair pasta, I took both, it was on my list. Found everything else on my list. Including 1 case -6- 1/2 gallon jars and 2 cases of pints. I wanted wide mouth, but they didn’t have any. Need to can up another 10 lbs of chicken and more bone broth. Got a call from my baby twin brothers. They are coming down for a wedding in Phx. They were planning to stop in Lake Havasu at my other brother’s house…but, his plumber caught their house on fire! Just the shower stall, ceiling and part of the rafters above were damaged. He said he went in and saw the worker using his garden hose to try to put it out, bro called the fire department and they flooded it. Sooo… the twins will be here tonight… they left MT at 4am. DH suggested basic pepperoni pizza…. I always make too much, so that should work. Time to get motivated… I have a lot to do, before they get here.
  16. Our desert willow is in full bloom. Light green flowers have attracted hives of bees & butterflies. Sounds awesome when you stand nearby.
  17. Looking at your spice rack, reminded me to get more paprika….
  18. You might be surprised how quickly you go through it.
  19. I would be on the phone/internet complaining about shabby, horrible service, and including the employees name…. I do not tolerate someone or business that does not provide the products or services they claim to provide.
  20. DH mentioned you all are getting ready to have an ice storm. Praying your power stays on and you have enough supplies to make it through it. Lol, sometimes I get tired of waiting for my machine and had sew everything.
  21. Tonight was green chicken enchiladas, re-fried beans and rice. From DH’s grandmother… The rice… white rice, sautéed until just brown… Add a Tbs of diced tomatoes, I have a container kept frozen for this recipe, specifically. Microwave a minute or two, enough to use for the rice, add a tsp of dried minced onion, a Tbs of tomato bullion and return to the heat…. Sauté just enough to boil some of the liquid from the tomatoes. For some reason, frying the tomatoes makes a big difference in the taste. Add enough water to cover, bring to a boil, reduce the heat, cover and simmer until most the water is gone, then turn the fire off, let it steep. Chicken enchiladas, 1 pint of canned chicken. I usually boil a leg & thigh, remove the bones & shred it, but tonight, I used the pint of chicken that didn’t seal when I canned it. Saved a lot of time. Lol. Added a Tbs. of cream cheese, & a Tbs of jalapeño cream cheese, and a tsp of chicken bullion, mixed well. Lightly fried 8 corn tortillas in veggie oil, then, let them sit, to cool down, while I defrosted the beans for re-fried beans… these are from pots of beans, when I make MIL her ‘bean juice soup. I strain the beans out of the liquid and save the beans for re-fries. I use the pan i fried the tortillas in, adding a Tbs of tomato bullion & a handful of cheddar/ jack cheese. Mix well, cook on medium heat, mixing off & on, until they get thicker. As they are cooking, I fill & roll up the tortillas with the mixture…. Pour the greens enchilada sauce on top and sprinkle the last of the cheese on top. Bake at 350°F for about 15 minutes. Melted cheese…. Rice absorbed all the excess water… and the enchiladas cooked enough to be hot throughout… My dinner tonight…. (Forgive the paper plate…. It saves excess dishes…. Lol)
