  1. Is everyone alright?? Saw it on the news, looks really bad…
  2. That’s cute. Storm does nose my back injuries. Unfortunately, I believe he actually pulled a leg muscle playing hard with Gunner. He’s doing much better now, still yikes if he steps wrong, but, not like he did at first. Keeping him from playing has been hard, Gunner just doesn’t understand & tries to get him to play.
  3. Thanks to everyone for the prayers. He “seems” to be doing a touch better each day. Ferrets, I know, acutely. We rescued them from the early ‘80’s. … adrenal issues, insulin deficiencies, cancers, etc. tough on the heart & wallet. We finally quit rescuing them, in 2019. We were their forever home. I miss them, but, I don’t miss the daily work. Lol, I made a batch of rose water, I thought it smelled wonderful… DH said it smelled like ferrets……
  4. Happy Belated Birthday. I hope you had a wonderful day!
  5. Got an appointment for Storm at 4pm yesterday. The vet thinks, it might be pulled muscles, however, wants x-rays…. He would need to be sedated, early morning appointment, or I’d pay for overnight boarding. ( X-rays….$500.00!!! ) Gave him some anti inflammatory & pain meds, if he doesn’t improve, then, x-rays.
  6. So…. It seems Storm hurt his hind legs/knees. We are assuming, he played hard with Gunny in TX, then, slipped under the bed slightly, and tried getting up, twisting his knee (s). Not sure, but one day he will be nuzzling one knee and the next day his other. Gunner pushes him, he yelps and nuzzles his knee/thigh. He’s walking normal, but, yelps if he moves too fast, turning around or slips. We are massaging his legs, he’s getting spoiled with attention. I’m still running away from him when he gets an episode. He’s been sleeping next to me, all day, in the kitchen or in my office… I can’t move without him following me everywhere, including the bathroom, unless I latch the doors, he will open them. Haven’t had any luck, finding a vet to see him, before the 3rd week in January. I’ve called every one in our surrounding area and in Phoenix. Our regular vet, actually told me, Gunny could be seen last week, but, there were no appointments available for Storm. I tried to tell them, he has a custom muzzle and we have the tranquilizers … nope. He does seem to be getting better with the mobility bites, electrolytes and enzymes.
  7. 8 pints of turkey bone broth…waiting for the timer to go off. (Flavored canned water. )
  8. Jeepers, my brother is a driver, full USA. He is trying to get a day off! Says all the companies are running at 100% and begging for extra drivers. I’m seeing a LOT of independent trucks on the road too. You can always tell, they drive 75+. Lol. Companies have “governors” limited speed, to 65 mph, especially for the inexperienced drivers. Storm had another episode. Again. Our regular vet, won’t see him, he's banned’ 😔. They suggested going to an emergency center, $200. Just for the initial visit plus any tests they do… X-rays… 300. each…. Really!?! Soooo…. I put him muzzle on him and felt his spine, like a chiropractor. (Worked for one for 5 years, taught me a LOT about adjustments), anyway, he has a veritable really out, near his hips. I massaged it & moved it -sorta- into place. He reacted, thanking God, he had the muzzle on. He’s walking much better, and calmed down some. He also got a muscle relaxer, the vet gave us. We are suspecting, he has hip displaysia (sp) because of the atrophy in his thighs. Poor baby. Not letting him play with Gunner, because they play hard & rough. WM went well, most of the shelves were full. No cranberry sauce, but, that’s seasonal. Tomorrow, I will make another batch of turkey bone broth. Oh, and they had a lot of cases of canning jars, lids & rings! Amen!
  9. Jeepers, the trucks on the road are really increased in numbers! 90% of traffic was trucks. Yeah..and the news is trying to tell us, the opposite. Not from what I’ve seen. And I travel at least once a month! Humph! People are panicking, buying all the supplies they can, because…. of what the news is saying…. Prepping…. Everyone is starting to ‘prep’, because of all the ‘lack’ the news is saying. We are seeing and hearing it here, especially from our customers, who used to be “what ever” attitude. Sigh.
  10. Storm is acting like nothing ever happened. The wood floor in the bedroom are slick. We are thinking he slipped. IDK.
  11. Home from TX. Nice visit. Thanksgiving dinner turned out well. Storm had an issue with his low back, at 2 in the morning! Screaming and biting! Stayed up with him the rest of the night & day. He screamed every time I touched his legs. Saturday morning he seemed fine. (Not). Vet time…. Set up her Christmas decorations. Awful headwinds on the way home, normally I get 28 mpg, only got 23-24 mpg.
  12. Congratulations on your new puppy, Mt_Rider! I spent the day, working with a rescue center, to get a GSD to a friend. Poor puppy, 6-8 mo old, rescued from a breeder, that let him starve…. going to the vet for a checkup, then to the person who wants him. His name was Oso… so we named him, Sargent Oh So wonderful…. Lol.
  13. Mt_Rider. Tell her “Owwww!” , then show her where it hurt, whine like a puppy, holding where it hurt. They understand. I had to do that with our dogs, Storm is still learning. Head strong shepherd.
  14. So, MIL is doing better, day by day. We will be going back next Wednesday. Scrubbed everything I could, floors, cabinets, handles, showers, tubs & toilets with Lysol. Changed bedding and washed them. Whew! A lot of work, however, I know, her house is clean and sanitized. She’s on heavy antibiotics and an inhaler. God willing, she will continue to get better. I did chastise her, for telling me on the phone, she was fine, the day before, she went, by ambulance, to the ER. I told her, it wasn’t fair or right, to lie to me. Sadly, she lost another cousin, today. She fell, that was it. I will miss her quirky attitude. My brother had to put his white, deaf, bull dog down. 4 years old. She got an embolism, couldn’t use her back leg. The vet put her on an anticoagulant & pain meds. Except the dosage he gave her was for an adult human…. It caused the puppies liver & kidneys to shut down and quit functioning. I won’t say what I really feel about that vet. I’m sure you can guess. My bro had rescued the dog from an awful situation, loved her & she went with him everywhere. He even taught her sign language. He was able to converse with her better than most people talk with each other. Beautiful dog, I loved visiting and loving on her. Such a pitty…
  15. I gave up with buckets, when I got ‘weak’ enough, not to be able to lift or carry them. I use a small garbage can, office sized, maybe a gallon, fill it 1/2 way & do what I need to. Yes, when cleaning, I do have to change the water a lot. But it’s worth it to get the jobs done.
  16. Amazon changed our order, we ragged them, they sent our original order & didn’t charge us for the error & didn’t want the error sent back.
  17. Pixie, very nice to hear from you again. Glad you are safe…. Preparing for the “what ever” is extremely important, especially now. Looking forward to seeing you more often.
  18. Thank you all for the prayers. I’m sure God knows our hearts, concerns, and hears our request. Thank you. Here in TX safe. MIL has bacterial pneumonia. She’s on heavy meds. Seems to be doing ‘normal’, for a 90+ year old beautiful Lady. Tomorrow is another day… noticing a lot to do…. typical.
  19. Jeepers, DH has selected an option, with/on Amazon, to send a photo of the delivered package. Every time we get a package, he gets an email with a photo of the package on our porch, behind a shrub.
  20. Sorry I couldn’t join this year, but I am looking forward to seeing the pictures.
  21. Got a call from MIL’s neighbor. Mom went to the hospital today…. Pneumonia. IV’s and supposed to go home today. I packed.. then, she called us. Didn’t want us driving at night. Then, …ATF called us..needing paperwork… DH’s computer crashed… finally got it done, but ETA into TX, would have been after midnight… called mom, we will leave in the morning…. God willing… …stressful day… to say the least
  22. All wood. The desert has a lot of mesquite trees. When we need , I gather the dead wood. We’ve collected pine, from people who cut their trees down, especially after a storm and have a gardener friend who brings us logs.
