  1. I found this TP calculator to calculate the best deal on paper. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AjbOyQ9H6FexdFViSTNxRmd3aWxvT0o0YXdzN0pvX0E#gid=0
  2. Because I had a big tp stockpile I just recently had to buy some for the first time in about 2 years. When putting it on the roller I noticed it is definitely not as wide as the old roll was. Not only did the price go up, but the square footage went down!
  3. Tonight is turkey pot pie and salad with fresh lettuce. We might be eating the last of our fresh lettuce, since we may get a hard freeze tonight.
  4. I am so happy for you. I just love it when I get a breakthrough.
  5. Maybe I am losing it but I had a mini brainstorm yesterday. I have been saving prescription bottles from Target. I have used all I can for hobbies etc and realized I needed to throw some out. As I reached for the garbage, I saw the little rubber band around the neck. You can get this band in any color you want. Mine are purple. It is removable and voila...I now have napkin rings for free...lol. Maybe I'll change my color and get a "set of napkin rings" in another color!

    Online Medical Help

    Cool..Thanks Psalm23. I know where I'm going next online.
  7. Wow..some of these are so pretty. I wish I could get motivated to start the quilt I've been "meanin' to get to" for years!
  8. It's finally cool so I will cook some nice comfort food. Homemade chicken and dumplings and a salad.
  9. I have been very fortunate lately. Three different people I know have over-producing gardens, and have let me harvest all I want. SInce DH was in the hospital most of the spring we couldn't put in much of a garden. I am so glad to get such a wide variety of wholesome food...for free. In the past week I got about 30 pounds of tomatoes, 10 pounds of gorgeous red peppers, 20 pounds of apples, 5 pounds of onions, 2 pounds of garlic. 10 pounds of squash, 3 pounds of blueberries and 3 pounds of green beans. Yummy!
  10. DH loves this for breakfast, usually with maple syrup over fried slices.
  11. Great deal for you Cat! How did you get mice when your name is Cat? Your name alone should strike fear in the little critters hearts.
  12. My "Get up and Go" has gotten up and left!

  13. I can't resist a good freebie...A friend of ours runs a little 7-11 type store. I stopped in yesterday to get a fountain drink(and use her wi-fi) and there were about 30 packages of snack cakes on the counter. She told me to take them because they were going to expire today and the vendor was going to throw them out. I am glad to see the vendor cared about selling fresh product and I was happy to take them off their hands. I put them in some big gallon size zip lock bags and hid them in the freezer. Next time DH gets a sweet craving I can get him one. The perfect size to cure his cravings.
  14. Our gutter garden has been copied by all of our friends. We have mounted several of ours on our porch railing right outside the kitchen, so it is easy for me to get my salad cuttings.
  15. Recycle parts of your microwave. If your microwave bites the dust and it has a turntable, you can make a lazy susan out of the glass dish and the little plastic thing under it. Or you can use the glass plate for a serving platter.
  16. I saw a new one today. We all know how hard it is to measure spices..right? lol Now you don't have to. McCormick has a glossy cardboard card with a recipe printed on it. It also has little plastic pouches stuck to it which contain pre-measured spices for the recipe. I don't know how much it cost, but I'm sure you pay dearly to avoid the horrors of measuring.
  17. I was in a grocery store last night to pick up some good for sale items. I noticed their brand of tuna marked down even though it wasn't advertised. I'm glad I caught it..39 cents a can is a great price lately. I got about 20 cans for the storage room.
  18. A friend of ours got a new roof after the tornado came through here last spring. He offered my DH his old gutters if he wanted them. We picked them up the other day and DH installed them on the inside wall of our greenhouse a little above eye level. (He didn't want to tie up valuable normal height areas). These little "troughs" are perfect for cutting lettuce ar any other plants that don't have deep roots. You may want to plug the ends before you use them.
  19. DH wanted to go to town. We really didn't need to go, so I talked him out of it. Every trip not taken is money for something else. It does add up.
  20. DH has finished our greenhouse so we dug up some outdoor plants and will try to keep them going over the winter. I am trying to keep our herbs and maters going year round.
  21. How lucky for you to get the benefit of all that "grandparent" love. It is wonderful that you appreciate them.
  22. I actually ate beans twice in one week!
  23. I am trying to eat them more than occasionally too. I have made a real effort to eat some once a week. Saturday I made lima beans with a nice meaty hambone. The only way I "like" them is in 2 bean salad. I don't hate them but I can't get excited about them either!
