  1. I did less than usual last week..I had a case of bronchitis and it was very hard to do anything physical. I did manage one trip down the "exercise" stairs to do a mound of laundry though!
  2. Yesterday I snagged hamburger marked down to 98 cents a pound. When I got home I made hundreds of meatballs for the freezer. I made two styles..Italian and regular. I am ready for alot of easy meals now. Just grab a pack of meatballs from the freezer and make spaghetti, sweet and sour, swedish, stroganoff..the possibilities are endless. Just add sauce and pasta of choice. It took hours but it will save alot more time(and money) in the future.
  3. Probably used in adult diapers too...we are covering all ends of the spectrum!
  4. Shop around the specials! Plan your meals only AFTER you know what bargains you can get. I make a big list every Wednesday when the ads come out. I list all interesting specials at all the stores, even if I don't usually shop there. I keep this list in my purse all week so it is readily available.
  5. Found a great deal on clearance for Handiwipes. I've never bought them before, but for 25 cents a bag I couldn't resist. There were either 6 or 8 in the pack. I even gave DH a bag for his shop.
  6. My fathers dad was a womanizer too....I discovered 2 more families he had after the original bunch that my Dad was in. He sometimes forgot to get divorces apparently. He also used his oldest son's birth certificate to join the Army in WW2. He was in his mid 40's and wanted to serve his country, so I guess he wasn't all bad.
  7. Snowy..you sure look like you have lost weight in your anniversary pix. Way to go!
  8. I've had that happen twice before. Fortunately they were both caught before it became a big problem.
  9. I have 3 family "stories" that I wondered about. The first 2 turned out to be true..the third is also about Indian ancestry and I have not been able to prove it yet.
  10. Glad you managed to get in some exercise with all the celebratin' going on!

    Busy days...

Sigh.. I still remember Princess Sr's little games..time sure flies.
  12. It is rough. I finally got a bearable premium but I might as well not have it (unless I have a BIG problem). The deductible is high and I have never made it yet in 7 years. I would do better to not struggle to pay for it. Then I would have enough cash to pay for my meds which I can't do now. I don't fill alot of my prescriptions. Of course, I need coverage in case of a big emergency like cancer. You can't win either way.
  13. Congrats! I hope you have a wonderful party and your family has a good time.

    Free Lego's

My son loved Lego's. I saved them all and then gave them to Princess Sr. when she was old enough. The girls like them alot but they are not "crazy" about them like Dad was. They are a neat toy!
  15. Congratulations...all that hard work has paid off!
  16. Lego sponsors free monthly mini model builds at their stores for kids ages 6-14. Lego helps your child make a small project which they get to keep. Find more info and locations here: http://stores.lego.com/en-US/default.aspx
  17. This is the first year that green peppers have done well. Too well in fact...I have given them away like zucchini and my freezer is full. I also stuffed quite a few and froze them. Enough already! LOL
  18. Must be all of your walking that is charging it so well!
  19. Sounds like my DH. He keeps taking in strays and we really can't afford it. We do try to place them, but sometimes we have to keep them.
  20. Lumabean..try talking to older relatives. It is surprising what info sometimes pops out. You may get some new leads that can point you in a fruitful direction.
  21. I was in the right place at the right time this am. I was in a little local 7-11 type store when the owner cleaned out all the out of date junk foods. She offered them to me since the vendor doesn't take them back. I took the ones that expire today or yesterday and put them in the freezer. Next time DH has a sweet tooth he can have one and I won't be tempted( to snack along with him) like I would when I have to make him a whole cake.
  22. Smithsonian magazine is sponsoring it's annual free museum day on September 29th. Go to 1,400 museums nationwide. Download tickets at http://smithsonian.com/museumday
