The last few weeks I have not been able to check in as often as I like to. Once or twice a week is not enough for me. I wish I could get here daily again!
Between a part time job, DH's health issues and having to snag free wi-fi time it cuts down my MrsS time. Hopefully things will improve soon and I can be here more often.
Hillshire Farms smoked sausages were advertised on sale locally. When I picked up the package which was 14 ounces a few weeks ago I noticed it was now 12 ounces. Not too long ago it was a full pound. If only Momo could shrink as successfully!.
I saved this morning by having DH wait in the car while I picked up groceries. He always begs for goodies when he comes in with me..picture an old man pleading like a little kid for cookies, brownies, chips etc.
The 2013 Chick Fil A calendar costs 6$. It contains a loaded card with free monthly foods worth alot more than 6$. It makes a great small gift or buy it for yourself and save money.
I bought one for a 10$ maximum Santa swap gift and the recipient was delighted to receive it.
This am Dh and I did a full haircut on our mimi Schnauser. We have trimmed her for years but this was a full close shave. She doesn't look too bad. She didn't complain a bit. lol
Being good shoppers I know we all check our receipts for mistakes. Don't forget to check the back of them for coupons and freebies.
I just got a 7$ haircut at the salon in our WalMart store. They usually charge 15$ so that is a good deal. The girls who cut my hair didn;t even know about it until I told her and showed the coupon.
Also on the haircut topic, check and see if you have any beauty schools in your area. We used to have one that charged 5$ and I never got a bad cut there. Unfortunately they shut down.
On the back of Sonic's I have gotten tons of free Route 44 drinks by answering their curvey online. They only take a minute or so and don't make you give out personal info or email addys unless you want to.
If anyone in your family uses syringes or blood testing lancets, instead of buying a plastic container to dispose of them in your trash..recycle a liquid laundry package. (I have my DIL save these for us since we still buy dry laundry detergent.)
A friend of ours is a handyman. He had to clean out a rich Doctor's garage and he stopped by our house to see if we wanted any of the "stuff" that he was going to take to the dump. There were several hundred golf balls still in the packages and about 10 board and computer games that have never been opened. DH took the golf balls to a nearby golf course and sold them for $100. The golf course guy also asked DH to repair his mowing machine. This has worked out great for all of us. We are gettting a much needed little financial boost. Our friend who gave us the stuff was able to repay a favor we did for him earlier by giving us the stuff. We were able to help the golf guy make some money that helps pay for when he let our granddaughter play golf for free. I love it when everyone benefits!
This am I went through the freezer. I found several things that were pretty old so I took them out to use up soon. I found 2 freezer burned roasts that "got lost" in there so I am going to crock pot them with rice for the critters. They don't mind freezer burn a bit!
I am sooo jealous....and frustrated. DH has a pretty bad case of his annual bronchitis. I thought he would be better by now since he went to the DR. and had some shots on Tuesday. He is just not well enough yet to enjoy himself or travel very far.
I hope ya'll have a great time. The weather is perfect!
Our nearest big town newspaper has gone to a 3 day schedule. I have been reading it daily for 36 years! I don't like it only coming on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. AND the subscription is still the same as it was when they published daily. Now you have to check obits online to make sure you don't read about it too late to go to the services! I guess I am too old for change.
