  1. Kids left a little while ago to head to the baby shower. GD and her DH went through as much of the Christmas things as they could but had to leave before they finished as she needed to go home to pump. She started hurting. But she will be back later in week to go through more and then DD took a lot of things, but none of it put much of a dent in it. So, what has been gone through that part is going in car for Goodwill. I am keeping a few things but just not much of it. Found another tiny tree that I will keep for the den. It might be maybe 3 or 4 inches tall. But will work perfect for the den. Then the other one that is about 2 feet tall will be in Livingroom. I don't have a mantel anymore so no need in keeping any of that stuff. DD is leaving right after the baby shower to head home. She took all of GS's things back with her to store at her house. I only kept his blankets as he is sleeping in his car. I also kept his towels to use and his hamper for him to put his dirty clothes in. So that emptied my dining room of his things. No one wanted the big Christmas tree as it is really old. So that I will put on the curb for someone to take. That happens a lot around here. If you don't want it just to park it on the curb and it will be gone before morning. Will spend the rest of the day just relaxing as tomorrow I will be very busy again. Seems it never ends.
  2. That is awesome. They are really good. I haven't even seen Riverdance in a long, long while.
  3. Our weather is now dropping. Mid 60's during the day but still not too bad. Just sweater weather. But by the time the sun starts going down it starts to drop to mid 40's. Waiting for DD and DGD to get here. Should been here soon. So just waiting on them right now. No need to get started into anything this morning much. Will do that when they leave. And I need the break. Not happy that I am missing church again, but I seem to have to work around their schedules. I can understand that DD lives out of town. But she and DGD are going to a baby shower this afternoon. It is DGD's best friend. She partially lived with DD when they were still living here. She is also having a girl so it will be nice that both babies can grow up together. Will be on phone to Anderson Window about the 2 replacement windows tomorrow. Something I should have done a long time ago, but things got in the way. Got the numbers off the corner of each window to give them. That has all the info on them. Love lifetime replacement. Aragon gas leaked out. So, time to replace them. Just pop old ones out and put new ones in and done. After the kids go through the Christmas stuff, Then I will be packing up the rest for Goodwill. Putting what I am keeping in Livingroom to decorate with. Won't be a lot of decorating anymore since it is just me and not doing Thanksgiving and still not sure about Christmas yet. But just can't do the full-blown decorating anymore. Too much to have to take down, pack back up and put it all away. Yep, we did a lot of decorating back in the day.
  4. Jeepers, what is in my freezer is the meat and veggies from garden I didn't get to can that I will be making soups and sauces to can. Then I will be canning from garden. If I do a garden next spring. If not, I will be getting veggies and stuff from the farm down the road. He has a huge farm and one of the few that is left around my area and has a stand he sells from. I can call him, and he will have it all picked and ready for pickup. I have bought from him before, and his veggies are really fresh straight from the garden that morning. I have been working on some things in the back yard and one of those is rather or not to tear down the old garden shed and build a new one over the old garden as the trees were putting out too much shade last summer over that area. So, garden didn't fare as well as I had hoped. Or should I take down the 2 trees that are hovering over my present garden area. If I tear down the old shed, I will have a much larger garden area but need to till all of that land up. And my clothesline poles are sitting over in that area as well. So those will have to be moved. Yes, decisions, decisions. what should I do.
  5. Speaking of cars, I have to go get mine inspected next week. Not sure I need an oil change yet though. Need to check the milage on that. I use Synthetic oil so I can go over a year before needing to change it out. I forgot how long I can go before changing it. I think it is something like 12 to 15,000 miles. I have a sticker on window that tells me when it's time. Becca Anne that is great to be VP of the quilting quild. I saw where they are giving quilting lessons at a quilting store down the road from me. I am hoping next year to take some classes. I have quilted before but been a long time and there are still things I could learn to do better.
  6. Necie, you have been a very busy lady. I hope to be doing that after the holidays. I kept trying to get back to canning what is in freezer, but it wasn't in the plan.
  7. Jeepers, I have 2 years on you. I'm older. I do remember that song. I like it.
  8. I sometimes when putting groceries in car will rebag some things because cashiers don't know how to bag groceries the proper way. I have also asked them not to put certain items in with other items. Yes, I used to work in both a grocery store and a bakery and things just are not to be bagged with certain other things. We were taught how to properly bag groceries back in those days. They don't do that now. Got blankets washed and dried as well as towels, and rags. Just need to put the rags back in the rag bin. Started to feel a bit tired and shaky earlier today. Checked my sugar and yep, it dropped to 64. So, this new medicine is doing its job. And I can now say for sure that the Trulicity my primary doctor put me on was not working. But it sure did a number on my thyroid levels. Got the glucose pills. So, should be ok with those. Small tubes for when I am out and about, and the large ones stay at home, and I can refill the tubes when needed from those. So that should take care of the low sugar levels. I was planning a Walmart trip but never made it. So maybe next week I can get there. GS finished splitting and stacking wood up by the patio door and that is now covered and ready to go when needed.
  9. Necie, I know what you mean having to go to basement when you need an appliance. I don't have room on my kitchen counter for all of my appliances and have to run out to garage for what I need. I only keep the ones I use all the time on counter. I did move the mixer into the kitchen as that KitchenAid is heavy. Got tired of lugging it up 3 steps from garage when I needed it. Shoulder and neck issues changed that problem for me.
  10. I have had that happen to me many times. I hate it also. It's the electricity that is generated from the nylon I think in the jackets we wear. Then the metal shelving units we touch shock us. I like the nylon as it makes for a good windbreaker. So, when I am wearing mine, I quickly touch the metal shelve and pull away fast and that seems to help when going through the store. Today I am washing blankets, sheets, towels, rags and clothes. I am way behind on things in the house right now. So today is cleaning day. Also taking measurements of garage windows for the curtains. I want to get those made as soon as I get garage cleaned out and windows washed. That I can do in the evenings after supper is done and kitchen cleaned up.
  11. I also hate clothes shopping but need some long sleeve shirts and a winter coat. Need to start looking around soon.
  12. Also, the Nija works very well. But I think what you need is a food processor instead of a blender.
  13. That's good Jeepers. I had never heard that.
  14. My new security system: Insured by Smith & Wesson Security by Winchester Funeral by John Deere. Yep, that should do it.
  15. Showed this to GS. He is laughing and said this is not healthy for our brains. Long haired freaky guys looking for sex from long haired freaky girls or ... And then he said take it from there and shame on us.
  16. Necie, those paste tomatoes are some much easier and better tasting for spaghetti sauce and such. Miki, I hope you get some much-needed rest. Glad your DH is doing better. I have been back and forth with USP all day. I'm tired. I was moving some money around and the I won't say at this time (I must be nice), gave me an old address. He sent me a printed-out label to use, and it had the wrong address on it. So now I have just sent the issue to him to take care of. It is now on him since he made the mistake on the address, he gave me to send papers to. In the meantime, I am sitting here, trying to calm down and relax. I have gotten nothing done in house I needed to do today. Jeepers, I feel your pain.
  17. Euphrasyne, I totally agree with you. I don't know very much sign language though. Not sure if I remember what I did know. It's been a long time since I did it.
  18. We may be wearing them again with the word going out that another plandemic is in the works. It was proven the first-time mask did now prevent you from getting covid. They didn't work.
  19. Jeepers, I think we will all be needing hearing aids at some point. Even I sometimes am finding myself telling people to please repeat themselves. My day is coming.
  20. Euphrasyne, what everyone has said. We all stand behind you on this. Vodka is not the answer. I am not that far from you. If you need to get away, I am here. We can go have lunch to get your mind off of things or whatever it takes. But like Jeepers said get rid of the bottle. You have to many people that love you and River needs you. And even what Necie said. Today is day one and every day is Day one. You can do this. We all love you here and we are here for you. Take it to God. He is always there for you. Been taken care of business today. GS had put in for more jobs today as well. Hope something comes up soon... Nothing got done in garage or shed as that is at a standstill till the kids come get the Christmas items they want. GD's car only needed a spark plug and a jump. So, it is ok but now she said she isn't coming till next week. Told her mom was going to go through it after she did and take what is left. So now they may come on Sunday. I am not counting on that. As GD's friend is having her baby shower on Sunday and she is going to be over at her house. So, I am stuck till they decide to come get it. After that I am heading to Goodwill. I will not keep waiting for them as they do this every time. They want it but don't come to get it and it's not going back into my shed to store for them. This is also the last time I ask them if they want anything as this has happened to many times and then I can't get what I need to do done. GS started splitting wood to bring up to patio today. He is going to finish that tomorrow. So that job will be out of the way. And I found someone selling firewood so will be ordering a couple of cords of wood soon.
  21. Our gas is down to 3.09 depending on where you go to 2.99. Hoping it keeps dropping. Might take GS and head to China town (Wal Mart). I want more gas cans to fill while the gas is this cheap.
  22. Necie, you did great. I really need to get back into canning. I need to make the soup to can and some other things. But just been one interruption after the other. Maybe after the holidays I can finally get things done I need to get done. Haven't heard back from GD yet so I figure I am stuck with all that Christmas stuff in garage till the kids finally get here to take what they want. The clock is ticking and next week it goes by, by. Yep, GS is walking a tight rope. He is doing much better, and I am working on his putting things off and how it has consequences when you keep doing that. So, he is now with the free clinic for his health. He has apt. on the 27th for the lab for Coast Guard. He is still asleep in car so right now I have me time. Will have him splitting wood today to bring up to the patio for when I start up the wood stove. Temps today will be near 80*. Going to start washing a load of rags and towels shortly. Right now, I am just relaxing with a cup of coffee. Jeepers, I have heard that song many times. Good song. I am so glad you got the proper care for your ears. That woman at the clinic you went to should be fired for that. I just hope and pray there is no permeant damage, and that ear will heal on its own. Time for me soon to call the new primary doctor and get that out of the way. Trying not to have everything so close together. Right now, I have to go back to the heart doctor in Jan. and the Endo doctor in Feb. Then there is still the eye doctor and dentist. Dentist I am looking for a new one. On the eye doctor, the one I had retired and now I am picking out another one. Just going through to see which one will be best for me. They all deal with different things. Rats, GS just knocked on the door. But he is in kitchen now getting a cup of coffee. He said he's ready to work right after breakfast.
  23. Jeepers, Glad all went well with the ears. Just hope the ear drum heals up on its own. Haven't heard back from GD yet so not sure if she got the car running or not. So not sure if she will be here tomorrow or not. But these are some of the reasons I can't get my house and things together. They want but won't come get it. But in her case, she couldn't help the car breaking down. Hopefully it will be gone this weekend. Been watching Sutton Daze. She was showing her bedroom pantry. She has me beat. Looks like a room double the size of mine. Been very tired today. Don't know if it's the increase in Bp meds or what. Just no energy. 6pm and I am ready for bed. Might be the time change. I hate this time of year when it is dark by 5 to 5:30. My cardiologist called and is sending another Bp med to pharmacy for me to start taking with the one I am on. Don't remember what she said on the name of it. I have to again take my Bp for 5 days and send it to him. Then will see from there what is going on. So, I need to go to store to pick up my Rx which I already have another one that is ready for pick up. I best have energy tomorrow as I have things I really need to get done in the house. Things are piling up again trying to go through things. Seems every time I go through things to either put away or get rid of, I make a big mess. But I guess you have to mess up to clean up. Or so they say.
  24. Oh my gosh, who would have thought of that other than the Babylon Bee. I love that. Jeepers, that was so funny. Yes, it is getting to the point they need that at all registers and soon the gas again. That will not stay this low for long. Buying groceries is a real eye opener or should I say purse snatcher as they empty your wallet and your bank account to pay for it.
  25. Jeepers, hope all goes well with the ears. Miki, sorry for the rough day yesterday, but so glad your DH is doing so much better now. He seems to be coming along really well. GD texted me and said her car won't start. It has been sitting idle for a long time so more than likely the battery needs to be charged since it is not old. Or it could be the alternator. But her DH will find out when he gets home. So, all the Christmas stuff is still sitting in middle of my garage, and I can't do anything till it is all out of the way. GS has gone to Social Services to see about getting Medicaid. I hope he can get it. At least he will have that along with his food stamps. He is still sleeping in his car in my driveway which I really didn't want him to do. But then again maybe his car being there will be a bit more protection for me. He has a better view of what is coming up into the yard from a better angle than I have in that area. With things going on in this world right now it could be a bit better protection for both of us. He comes in for breakfast, use bathroom and then helps me around the house. So far that arrangement is working well. And he seems to be well with that. Better altitude as well. Need to get him to split some of the larger firewood and bring it up to the patio. Still been too warm for a fire but the nights are a bit colder. Not going to start up the wood stove just for nighttime. I can hold off for a bit longer.
